Chapter 1359: Majestic History(27)

Phily felt surprised and excited reading the details on the beast card.

The Golden Resurgent Falcon wasnʼt just a royal race in the Falcon group. It was once the overlord of the beast group and also the most powerful race of the Sacred Dimension for a short time.

It wasnʼt that the Golden Resurgent Falcon lost power in a struggle with other overlord races, but their short-lived tenure as the most powerful race was only because every member of the race had ascended to the Primordial Dimension.

If Phily won the taming battle, the Golden Resurgent Falcon would appear in the Sacred Dimension after a long time.

Considering the majestic history of the beast, how could Phily not be excited about it? He then left the queue and walked toward the square device.

While Phily was waiting for his taming battle, Laney was preparing for her second quest.

Since Laney wasnʼt eligible to use her own weapons and skills for the complete trial, she couldnʼt do the quest only by herself, and the mission also didnʼt have any such requirement.

The creator had designed the trial in a way that would test not only the participant but also their leadership capability and how they lead the citizens of the city.

The biggest challenge in creating a trade channel between the Fring and Gring was the Geronics Tribe. It was a tribe full of warriors belonging to a demon group.

The tribe had around five thousand members, with even the weakest of them being above Level 100. As for the leader of the tribe, it was Level 200+.

In a frontal fight, Laney stood no chance against the tribe since she wasnʼt capable enough to defeat even the elites of the tribe, let alone win against the leader.

To have a battle, she needed the help of citizens, so the first task in her hands was to find capable men. But there was an issue: Laney had no idea how to leave the forest and communicate with the cityʼs people.

Laney was worrying about the situation when she heard the sound of flapping wings. She turned around and looked into the sky, noticing a bird flying toward her.

The bird was familiar to her since it was the same bird she had met after entering the city.

”It seems I have come at the right time.” The bird commented upon seeing the worried expression on Laneyʼs face.

”Are you worried about how to leave the fortress?” The bird then asked.

Laney nodded in surprise since the bird knew what she was thinking.

”Before worrying about those things, why donʼt you check the fortress?” The bird suggested.

”I will be your guide. Letʼs go,” It immediately added, not even waiting for Laneyʼs response.

The bird then flapped its wings and flew toward the fortress. Laney only looked surprised for a moment by the scene, but then she followed the bird.

After walking for a while, an enormous gate appeared in front of her.

The bird was flying at a hundred-meter height, and yet it was unable to pass through the air above the gate. It had an awkward expression. Despite being the cityʼs guardian, it had no control over the fortress.

Laney noticed the birdʼs awkward movement, but she herself wasnʼt sure what to do next. It was not like she could push open the door in front of her.

Laney didnʼt have to worry for long, and the next moment, the pattern engraved at the back of her hand suddenly glowed.

Rumble!

The next moment, the ground beneath her feet rumbled. For a moment, Laney felt that the entire fortress was shaking.

She didnʼt focus on that much as the gigantic gate in front of her began to slowly open. Only a small gap had opened, but that was more than enough for Laney to pass through.

At the same time, the air barrier stopping the bird also disappeared, and it flew inside the fortress from above the gate.

Laneyʼs mouth widened in shock when she entered the fortress. She appeared in the same spot she had found herself in after entering the city.

”The fortress is inside the city, but the city is also inside the fortress.” The bird mumbled, seeing the shocked expression on Laneyʼs face.

Laney couldnʼt help but make a weird expression since what the bird said seemed more like useless words hidden in the guise of divine knowledge.

ʼWhat does that even mean?ʼ Laney couldnʼt help but think in her heart.

The bird didnʼt say anything to solve Laneyʼs confusion, but it flapped its wings and flew away.

Laney stopped wasting her time on what the bird said and focused on what was ahead of her. Anyway, she could solve that puzzle later.

She then walked forward, but the people she met were clearly different from what she had met before. At the same time, everyone respectfully bowed toward her whenever she passed them.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Laney suddenly stopped in her tracks when she heard the sound of metal clashing. She turned in that direction and found a group of soldiers covered in armor approaching her.

The sound was caused by the handrest hitting the waist metal. When the group of people was ten meters away from her, they stopped and respectfully bowed toward her.

Laney nodded and then stood straight. There were nine members in the group. The next moment, a cool moment took place.

A soldier suddenly walked to the left and stood there, and then a soldier walked to the right and stood there. The same pattern followed four more times, and four soldiers stood on both sides. Only one man remained in the center.

The man had a proud expression on his face as, instead of walking to the left or right like others in the group, he strode forward, approaching Laney.

It was clearly a show-off moment, but Laney didnʼt feel disdain or cringe since the man approaching her was more powerful than any being in Panagea she had come across. If Laney could get the manʼs help, she would no longer have to worry about the second quest.

If Laney knew the actual strength of the bird, she wouldnʼt have made that conjecture, but the bird looked too ordinary for the power it held in the city.
