Overlord of the Wilderness

When Zhaang Ye first entered the Sword Monarch Ruins, he was completely disoriented and knew very little about the place. After refining the Sword Monarch’s will, he obtained some of the monarch’s memories. Only then did he gain a general understanding of the Sword Monarch Ruins.

After the Sword Monarch fell, his body and Little World transformed into the Five Elements Land. Within these Sword Monarch Ruins exist the Land of Gold, the Land of Wood, the Land of Water, the Land of Fire, and the Land of Earth.

The vast majority of treasures were located in the Five Elements Land. The Land of Wood, for example, was a lush forest where all sorts of Spirit Elixirs grew, including the Spirit and Flesh Jujube. Similarly, the Land of Fire was home to various Fire Element Barbaric Beasts, and some fire-attribute Spirit Elixirs also flourished there.

Zhaang Ye had been repeatedly injured ever since entering the Sword Monarch Ruins, delaying him by more than ten days. Therefore, as soon as he recovered, he immediately set off for the Five Elements Land.

After traveling for more than a thousand miles, Zhaang Ye suddenly stopped in his tracks. He discovered the massive corpse of a Barbaric Beast up ahead—it was the One-Eyed Giant Beast!

Zhaang Ye’s expression flickered. ’The One-Eyed Giant Beast’s combat strength is comparable to a True Dao Seventh Layer expert,’ he thought. ’Who could possibly have killed such a terrifying monster?’

After carefully inspecting the One-Eyed Giant Beast’s wounds, Zhaang Ye’s expression turned grave.

Just then, the Fire Spirit floated out from the Fire Spirit Realm. In a mere ten days, its power had grown significantly. Its combat strength was now comparable to an expert at the Peak of True Dao Fifth Layer.

The Fire Spirit’s senses were far sharper than Zhaang Ye’s. It glanced at the One-Eyed Giant Beast’s wounds and said, ”Master, the ones who killed this one-eyed monster are incredibly powerful. It should have been two people who struck it down.

”Look, the ground around the beast has collapsed. Someone clearly exerted a tyrannical force from the void, forcibly suppressing it. This person’s power is extraordinary—they seem even a step above you, Master.

”While the beast was being suppressed, another person struck. Their weapon was a sword. It shot down from the void, entered the One-Eyed Giant Beast’s nostril, and then sliced all the way down, severing its throat and heart. That person is an absolute master of the sword. Their combat strength is no less than the Late Stage of True Dao Sixth Layer.”

GASP!

Hearing the Fire Spirit’s analysis, Zhaang Ye drew in a sharp breath. His face grew grim as he said, ”This One-Eyed Giant Beast must have been killed by experts from an Exotic Realm. The combat strength of these outsiders is terrifyingly high!”

The Fire Spirit nodded. ”The two experts who killed the One-Eyed Giant Beast are both extraordinarily powerful. In your Purple Spirit Domain, besides Shui Daimai and you, no one else is their match!”

Zhaang Ye’s expression changed. ”That’s three experts from the Exotic Realm we know of now. And besides them, there are likely more. These people are overwhelmingly powerful. If they go on a killing spree in the Sword Monarch Ruins, none of the fifty-odd experts from the Purple Spirit Domain will be able to escape!”

The Fire Spirit nodded and said reassuringly, ”You don’t need to worry too much. With your current strength, even if you can’t defeat them, you should have no problem escaping.”

Zhaang Ye just smiled, then activated his Body Technique and continued to speed forward. His destination was the Land of Gold, the first among the Five Elements Land within the ruins.

「Two days later.」

Zhaang Ye entered a chilling world. The cold did not come from a low temperature, but from the sharp, metallic aura that radiated from everything.

As far as the eye could see, the mountains, trees, and even random stones all pulsed with a metallic aura. In a place with such a dense metallic presence, one’s Spiritual Sense grew dull. Even with Zhaang Ye’s formidable Spiritual Sense, he could only detect movement within a radius of about a third of a mile.

Zhaang Ye casually picked up a rock. After a brief look, he nodded slightly. ’Even a simple rock contains iron,’ he thought. ’This place truly lives up to its name, the Land of Gold. I have to see what lies at its center!’

WHOOSH!

Zhaang Ye activated his Body Technique and pressed deeper. The farther he went, the denser the metallic aura became. Even some of the Barbaric Beasts exuded it; their bodies shimmered with a metallic luster, making them look as if they were cast from metal.

SNORT! SNORT! SNORT!

A thirty-foot-long wild boar came charging from a distance. Upon seeing Zhaang Ye, it lowered its head, flashed two sharp tusks, and gored at him.

Zhaang Ye casually slashed out with his saber. A faint glint of light flew out and swept over the boar’s body. The massive beast was instantly split in two by the light, and a pale blue blood trickled from its corpse.

With a flick of his hand, Zhaang Ye brought a drop of the blood to his lips. He discovered that in this Land of Gold, even the blood of a wild boar contained a metallic essence.

’What a peculiar place, this Land of Gold!’ Zhaang Ye’s curiosity was growing. Just as he was about to use his Body Technique to press onward, a powerful aura suddenly approached from the distance.

WHOOSH!

Along with the aura, a young man with yellow hair approached step by step from the distance. He looked at Zhaang Ye with contempt and drawled, ”Hm? Another piece of trash from the Purple Spirit Domain. Kid, if you’d stayed hidden, you might have saved your own life. But now that you’ve come to the Land of Gold, don’t blame me for what happens next.”

Zhaang Ye stared at the blond youth. He didn’t recognize him at all; this man was clearly one of the experts from the Exotic Realm.

Zhaang Ye said slowly, ”The Sword Monarch Ruins are a trial ground for my Purple Spirit Domain. Only our experts are permitted to enter. Where might you be from?”

The blond youth roared with laughter. ”You’re about to die, and you’re asking where I’m from? Fine, since you asked, I’ll let you know who’s killing you. I am Ning Zhongtian, ranked forty-seventh among the Younger Generation of the Black Cloud Domain. Any other questions, kid? If not, it’s time for you to die.”

Zhaang Ye gave a wry smile, and his hand suddenly sliced through the air.

Zhaang Ye’s slash produced no visible Sword Gang, not even causing a ripple in the Heaven and Earth Essence Qi. From a distance, the move looked like a farmer casually waving his arm—completely harmless.

Seeing Zhaang Ye’s listless slash, Ning Zhongtian’s lips curled into a sneer, and he was about to voice his ridicule. Suddenly, he realized blood was trickling down his forehead.

Ning Zhongtian’s heart jolted. He tried to raise his hand to wipe the blood away, but his arm was limp, utterly devoid of strength. He felt a strange, tearing sensation spreading through his entire body.

GURGLE...

Several short, choked sounds escaped Ning Zhongtian’s throat, his eyes wide with absolute horror. In the next instant, his body split apart, falling to the ground in two halves.

It turned out that the faint glint of light from Zhaang Ye’s attack was his Shadowless Blade. After gaining insight from the Sword Monarch, his execution of the Shadowless Blade was truly shadowless; not even a keen Spiritual Sense could lock onto his Saber Technique. Ning Zhongtian, in his contempt, was instantly sliced in two, dying without ever understanding how.

After casually taking Ning Zhongtian’s Storage Bag, Zhaang Ye traveled for several hundred miles before he suddenly felt a faint tremor in the ground. Ahead, the Heaven and Earth Essence Qi was in violent turmoil.

”Hmm? Someone’s fighting!” Zhaang Ye hurried over. After covering dozens of miles, he saw a young man at the foot of a cliff, swinging his fists and throwing one punch after another. The man’s features were as dark as soot.

In front of him, a young woman in white was desperately fending him off with her Long Sword. This woman was an old acquaintance of Zhaang Ye’s—Gu Hengshui.

The dark-featured young man was clearly an expert from the Black Cloud Domain. His Cultivation had already reached the Peak of True Dao Fifth Layer, making his combat strength far superior to Gu Hengshui’s. He punched out again and again, laughing boisterously. ”Woman, you might as well give in! I’m telling you, you can’t escape my grasp!”

Gu Hengshui, both frightened and furious, shouted, ”Who are you? I’m warning you, this is a trial ground for the Purple Spirit Domain! This is our territory! If you lay a hand on me, you’re dead!”

The dark-skinned youth roared with laughter. ”Me? Dead? You people from the Purple Spirit Domain are all worthless. In the past ten-odd days, your old man here has already killed five of you weaklings. Woman, you’d better just obediently come with me and be my personal maid. Otherwise, I’ll have no choice but to get rough, rape you, and then kill you!”

As he spoke, the dark-skinned youth changed his fist into a palm and thrust it forward. An immense force sent Gu Hengshui flying back, slamming her against the cliff face.

Gu Hengshui’s face went deathly pale. Gritting her teeth, she raised her Long Sword to her own throat, intending to take her own life. But just as she raised her sword, the dark-skinned youth struck again. A Long Whip suddenly appeared in his hand. It shot out, knocking her Long Sword away and wrapping tightly around her body.

”Hahaha!” The dark-skinned youth let out a vile laugh and walked toward Gu Hengshui step by step.

Gu Hengshui felt her body constrict. The qi and blood within her were sealed, making it impossible to even sever her own meridians to commit suicide. Seeing the dark-skinned youth approach with a lecherous grin, her lovely face went pale, and her heart filled with despair.

The dark-skinned youth let out another foul laugh. ”Woman, you have nothing to be afraid of. The business between a man and a woman is the most joyous thing in the world. What’s to fear? You should just relax and enjoy it. Hehehe, come on, give your old man a smile.”

With another lecherous grin, the dark-skinned youth reached for Gu Hengshui’s chest. Just as he was about to rip her clothes, his expression suddenly changed. He spun around and roared, ”Who’s there?! Show yourself!”
