Beneath the Red Dragon

”Hehe,”

Karon chuckled softly but turned back on his own, standing at the drawing table, picking up the brush, and began to sketch on the blank paper.

Silver Dragon Chris couldn’t help but walk to Karon’s side, quietly watching this unique dragon doing something unique.

But the lines and traces on the paper were neither like ink wash traces nor colorful oil paintings, nor like murals on the rock walls.

The patterns gradually outlined on the paper resembled clusters of shadows, gradually coming into being under Karon’s brush, twisting and converging to sketch the silhouette of a gigantic dragon.

Chris couldn’t help but ask in surprise, ”What is this?”

Karon focused on drawing the shadows and explained to Chris, ”This is my exploration of some theories, an ability I’m attempting to acquire.”

”It’s based on some old theories of epistemology. Generally speaking, there are two ways to understand things: one is to deconstruct them downward, breaking them down into their most fundamental components.”

”Or synthesize upwards, abstracting things into some cognitive function segment.”

”Understanding something often requires a unified synthesis, employing both perspectives and methods. Of course, due to the inherent structural flaws of living beings and the limitations of knowledge, this simple epistemology is always inadequate.”

”There are also some traits that can’t be categorized as either function or basic unit, requiring other definitions. For instance, aesthetics, which is meaningless for many species.”

Karon paused, gazing into the eyes of Silver Dragon Chris, and said, ”Perhaps in the future, you too will pass by the landscapes I’ve seen. Of course, the above theory is merely a methodology of my cognitive capability, and the source of my ability,”

”lies in a theory within some philosophical schools that for every existent thing in the world, there exists a model of it in this world.”

”It’s like a tree; there must be a model of a tree as a standard in this world. What we perceive is only a projection of that model, and we can only ’try’ to fully perceive this model’s projection, never ’absolutely’ grasp the true model.”

”Are you saying that your painting isn’t a painting, but a projection of your model’s existence in this world?” Silver Dragon Chris, unlike White Dragon Camid, quickly grasped what Karon meant.

Karon smiled and then said, ”My painting is indeed a painting, but it’s also a projection of the essence of how I understand the world.”

”Sigh,”

Karon lowered his head, exhaled a warm breath to dry the ink traces on the painting, then rolled it up and handed it to Silver Dragon Chris.

”Be careful, Chris, this is not just my projection but also a display of some extremely negative and dark thoughts and shadows inherent in me.”

”If you don’t want others to die by your hands, don’t casually open it for others to see. Otherwise, it will eliminate all creatures it can, except you.”

”Is it that dangerous?”

Silver Dragon Chris bit her moistened red lips, pondered for a moment, and still tightly hugged this exceptionally dangerous gift to her chest.

”Thank you, Karon,” Chris said softly.

Karon couldn’t help but extend a finger to lightly tap the makeup flower on Silver Dragon’s forehead, gently saying, ”Actually, it’s not that dangerous. Mm, the projection exists based on my personality and consciousness, so if you want to actively command it to eliminate a fixed target, you’ll need a special magic spell to drive it.”

Chris’s eyes sparkled, akin to the rippling waters of a spring lake, and she softly asked, ”What is the spell exactly?”

”Heh,” Karon suddenly let out a peculiar laugh that shattered the atmosphere, lowered his voice as if fearing the maids in the castle might hear, and whispered in Silver Dragon Chris’s ear, ”The spell is—Your Majesty, please turn around!”

The warm breath landed on Silver Dragon’s ear, white as a ingot, making Silver Dragon Chris feel her heart itch just like her ear.

So Silver Dragon Chris transformed into her true dragon form, yet she lifted her head high.

Sigh,

The enormous true form of the Ancestral Red Dragon manifested in the world, looking down at Silver Dragon Chris, lightly kissing the forehead of this Silver Dragon.

The Dragon Contract silently formed at this moment.

But it wasn’t material; it was the Dragon Contract of the mind between Ancestral Red Dragon Karon Gogomola and Adult Silver Dragon Chris Tianna.

The Adult Silver Dragon breathed in the male dragon scent of the Ancestral Red Dragon, her slender neck entwining, caressing the robust neck of the Dragon Emperor, suddenly letting out a satisfied sigh.

”Karon, you can always trust me, unless I’m no longer myself!”

Silver Dragon Chris gently rested her Dragon Horn against the mighty chest of the Ancestral Red Dragon, speaking softly.

The voice was languid as it was tender, soft as flowing water, time flowed silently, everything unspoken.
