Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 187: Chapter 185: Holiday Tutoring

”This is simply unbelievable.”

While eating in the auditorium, Cedric had already heard from Conna about the events that happened in the Potion Class earlier.

He smacked his lips and curiously asked, ”I remember Draught of Living Death is something you learn in the sixth year, right? How did you manage to do it... wait, don’t tell me you’ve already finished all the Potion textbooks!”

Kael, who was cutting sausage, looked up at him and laughed, ”What if that’s really the case.”

Cedric was slightly stunned for a moment, then half-jokingly said, ”Then I can only give up Quidditch and make more time to study hard... After all, being friends with a future Potion Master is really stressful.”

”Looks like I just saved my life from Harris.” Kael patted his chest, saying with some lingering fear, ”If you quit the team for this reason, he would definitely kill me!

”Okay, I admit I was joking just now.”

Under the gaze of everyone, Kael continued, ”It was just luck, I found a book of ’Advanced Potion Making’ a few days ago, casually flipped through it to pass the time, and coincidentally came across the process of making Draught of Living Death.”

It was indeed lucky. If he hadn’t learned Occlumency during the summer vacation, he wouldn’t dare to be so bold in front of Snape.

Although this kind of behavior is somewhat reckless, it feels really good.

Especially seeing Snape’s expression of wanting to deduct points but unable to, and questioning his life, Kael almost couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

It’s a pity he couldn’t capture his expression at that time; otherwise, Kael would definitely use the best Developing Potion to turn it into a funny GIF and post it in every corner of Hogwarts.

Just don’t know if there will be such an opportunity in the future, if there is, perhaps he can discuss it with Peeves...

”Even so, it’s very impressive.”

At this time, Mikel, sitting on the other side of Kael, sighed and said, ”Professor Snape clearly wrote out the process, but I just can’t learn it.”

Mikel is the unlucky one who blew up the cauldron.

After he finished stirring, the original potion began to evaporate rapidly, and eventually, the cauldron suddenly exploded, throwing out a puddle of black goo.

In some way, that stuff’s effect of causing sleep might be even better than the normal Draught of Living Death, just that no one dares to try it.

After finishing the meal, the group returned to the common room and found a place near the fireplace to sit down.

The roaring fire quickly dispelled the cold brought from outside, and the group leaned back on the sofa, comfortably closing their eyes.

Since Christmas holiday was just around the corner, the young wizards in the common room were very excited, with almost everyone discussing their holiday plans.

Cedric listened to their conversation and turned to ask, ”By the way, Kael, are you really not planning to go home this Christmas?”

”Yes.” Kael nodded.

Diana hasn’t been home lately, and Chris went to Albania with Newt, so there won’t be anyone at his house this Christmas.

Last week, when Professor Sprout came to register students staying at school for the holiday, Kael immediately signed his name, as did Conna.

According to Conna, Snape seemed to want to tutor her during Christmas holiday, so she had to stay at school.

This made Kael a bit envious; though he really wanted to shamelessly sit in on the class, even thinking with his feet, he knew Snape would never agree.

Additionally, this year Fred and George are staying as well because the Weasleys are going to Romania to visit Charlie and aren’t bringing them along.

”Why are you all staying at school for Christmas this year...” Cedric said, scratching his head helplessly, ”It’s so boring if I’m the only one going back.”

In fact, he also wanted to stay at school, even wrote a letter to his family for this reason, but Mr. Digory firmly disagreed.

Cedric wasn’t able to go against his father’s wishes, so he could only give up.

Fortunately, Cho also chose to go home, so he wouldn’t seem too out of place.

The group sat by the fireplace until the afternoon, reluctantly stood up, and left the common room.

Cedric had to attend the last Charm Class before the holiday.

Kael and Conna had Herbology Class.

After the Armor Pumpkin around Halloween, in the last class before Christmas holiday, Professor Sprout brought out another festive magical plant.

Snowcap Mushroom.

This is a type of fungus over half a meter tall, with a cap that has concentric white patterns, resembling a Christmas tree covered in snowflakes.

Not surprisingly, Kael gained another twenty points for Hufflepuff.

Whether to consider others’ feelings or because of Christmas, Professor Sprout gave everyone a pot of Snowcap Mushroom as a gift at the end of the class.

However, Kael was not very interested.

Primarily because Snowcap Mushroom is a non-toxic decorative plant, usually found on snowy mountain tops that young wizards seldomly see.

In fact, one can buy a pot of Snowcap Mushroom in Diagon Alley for just three Sickles, and even cheaper is the seeds, at twenty Knuts a small spoonful.

Planting it in a flowerbed could only improve the food for the Moonstruck Beast.

...

When Kael, Conna, and the others finished their last Herbology Class and came out of the greenhouse, everyone jumped with excitement.

Tomorrow is the long-awaited holiday, if it weren’t for having to attend tonight’s banquet, they wished they could get on the train home right now.

From the back of the crowd, Conna quietly asked, ”Kael, what are you planning to do this holiday?”

”Probably do nothing.” Kael thought for a moment and said, ”I was too busy before, so I’ll take the chance to rest well during the holiday, plan to wander around Hogwarts, or try the secret passageways the Weasley brothers recommended.”

Upon hearing this, Conna couldn’t help but feel a bit envious.

This holiday, she only has three days for completing homework for all subjects; the rest of the time will be for tutoring.

According to Professor Snape, ”Your foundation is too poor, wasting such good talent, tutoring, must tutor!”

Originally, she had a week to do the homework, and if she moved quickly, she could spare a few days for herself.

But suddenly, on the way to class, she received a note from Professor Snape, stating that the tutoring sessions were moved up by four days, and she needed to finish the homework quickly.

Now there’s no other way, three days are barely enough to finish the homework, nothing else can be done.
