Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 185: Chapter 183: The Odd Trio

Professor Quirrell’s Defence Against the Dark Arts class was as terrible as ever, especially after his arm got injured. The task of taking care of the ”assistant” fell to the young wizard.

A Gryffindor student sitting near the podium was lucky enough to get this assignment.

Kael noticed that when he took the large lizard, his face turned pale, and he stood there stiffly, not daring to move. It was as if he was holding not a harmless little animal, but Professor Snape’s Animagus.

”I’ve really had enough...”

After class, as Kael was leaving the classroom, he happened to overhear him complaining to his friends.

”That lizard has the exact same smell as Professor Quirrell, does it eat garlic every day... and now that smell must be on me too!

Oh, how disgusting... hopefully the Scouring Charm works, otherwise, I’ll have to buy a new set of uniforms.”

Kael instinctively sniffed himself, and there was indeed a faint garlic smell, just not as strong as on Quirrell. Since they had just left the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom, not many people noticed.

With that smell lingering, it’s no wonder he wanted to change his uniform.

A few students quickly walked past him, and when they reached the second floor, Kael suddenly stopped.

He turned to the few students beside him and asked, ”I plan to go to the library, do you want to come with me?”

”No, no.”

Mikel and Ryan shook their heads repeatedly.

Kael wasn’t surprised. Apart from going to the library for homework, they usually avoided the place.

”I’m not going either,” Conna thought for a moment and also shook her head: ”I’ve been reading the notes Professor Snape gave me. They will be checked at Christmas, so I don’t have time for other books.”

”Snape’s notes?”

Kael’s eyes lit up: ”Could you lend them to me... don’t worry, I’ll make a copy, it won’t take your time.”

Last year, he received notes from Professor Flitwick’s Charm Class, which contained Flitwick’s unique understanding of Charms and many practical tips.

The knowledge not found in textbooks had greatly benefited him, stuff you couldn’t buy even with Galleons.

”Sure, you can look at them if you want,” Conna said without hesitation: ”You go to the library first, I’ll make a copy for you when I get back.”

However... be careful not to let Professor Snape find out when you’re reading them, he told me not to pass them on.”

While saying this, Conna’s expression was a bit strange.

In fact, when Snape gave her the notes, he not only instructed her not to pass them on but also specifically mentioned a certain person’s name.

But she was too embarrassed to say it in front of that particular person.

”Don’t worry, Snape will definitely not find out,” Kael assured by patting his chest, ”I’m the tight-lipped person in Hogwarts.”

”And also...”

Conna continued, ”My Doubling Charm isn’t as good as yours, it probably will only last about a week, you better read quickly.”

For this issue, Kael was equally unconcerned.

He had a Speedwriting Quill, so he could transcribe it. Half a day would be enough, let alone a week.

After deciding, the three of them returned to the common room, while Kael took a detour straight to the library.

There were quite a few young wizards at Hogwarts who liked reading. Even though class had just ended, the library was almost full.

Kael also saw the Gryffindor trio, sitting at a table near the door, with a tall stack of books beside them.

Kael instinctively glanced at them.

It wasn’t surprising that Hermione was there, she almost treated the library like her dormitory, coming almost every day.

But Harry and Ron were different.

They were like his two roommates, the type who avoided the library and rarely appeared there.

What surprised Kael even more was that there was no parchment and quill on their table, clearly not doing homework.

Were they really there to read? That’s a rare sight.

But Kael didn’t say much, just simply greeted the three of them before heading to Madam Pince.

”Harry...”

Watching Kael’s back as he left, Ron suddenly whispered, ”Do you think we should ask Kael, maybe he might know who Nicolas Flamel is.”

”No way!”

Before Harry could speak, Hermione directly refused: ”This is too dangerous. Don’t forget, Snape tried to kill Harry last time, we can’t let Kael get involved.”

”Yeah... Hermione is right,” Harry hesitated for a moment, then also nodded.

He also thought it would be better not to involve Kael, as Ron’s suggestion was just a guess.

Even though Kael was smart, that didn’t mean he would know who Nicolas Flamel was.

Hermione was a perfect example.

”Alright, I was just saying,” Ron shrugged, ”If you guys don’t agree, then forget it.”

While they were discussing, Kael managed to borrow the book he wanted and prepared to leave the library.

When passing by the trio, Kael suddenly noticed they had a strange look when they saw him.

Their smiles were too fake, and there was a hint of awkwardness.

Looking at me... awkwardly?

Are they crazy, or is there something wrong with their mental state?

Unclear of what’s going on, Kael frowned, then quickly left the library.

Although he didn’t know what happened, for safety’s sake, it was better to stay away from them.

Hermione was an example. A good girl, but after getting close to them, she also started behaving mysteriously.

Scary!

Returning to the common room, Kael first found Conna and got Snape’s notes.

It wasn’t thick, roughly about the same as what Professor Flitwick had given him, indicating it wasn’t everything.

”Make sure Snape doesn’t find out.” Conna reminded again, ”Otherwise, I’ll get in trouble.”

”Don’t worry.”

Kael took the notebook and found a place with no one else to sit down.

But he didn’t start with the notes, instead, he opened the book he borrowed from the library.

”Legendary Alchemy Items”

Upon opening, the first page was the Automatic Stirring Cauldron.

This item was mentioned in last year’s Magic History, significantly increasing the success rate of Magic Potions and reducing potential accidents.

It was quite meaningful.

After the Automatic Stirring Cauldron, there were the Broomstick, Peeping Mirror, Time Turner...

But Kael wasn’t interested in these, he quickly flipped through the book, soon finding what he needed.

The Philosopher’s Stone!
