Unrivaled Miracle Doctor: The God-Defying Demonic Consort

Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Lord’s Playful Selection of Soldiers (2)

In the training grounds, over ten thousand soldiers were already lined up.

A few deputy generals were already waiting on the Commanding Platform.

When Mu Qingge ascended the Commanding Platform with Mu Xiong, she immediately felt the intense gazes falling on her.

Most of these people had accompanied Mu Xiong to the Sunset Wilderness to find her. Naturally, they had also witnessed her endure the Teng Whip punishment firsthand.

Undoubtedly, that scene was shocking.

It made these tough men forgive Mu Qingge’s rashness and accept her as their young lord.

Of course, there were also some curious and skeptical glances, as if it was difficult to reconcile the flamboyant boy in red before them with the steadfast, sword-like, resolute young leader who had endured two hundred strikes of the Teng Whip as described by their comrades.

Ignoring the various looks, Mu Qingge stepped forward, hands behind her back, and declared loudly, ”Today, I will select my Personal Guards. I believe you’re familiar with who I am. Now, I’ll ask, if any of you are unwilling to become my trusted aides, please step back five paces.”

As soon as she finished speaking, the training grounds erupted into an uproar.

Selecting Personal Guards wasn’t just about picking those who were pleasing to the eye. Why add this twist?

Even a few deputy generals glanced at Mu Xiong in confusion. The latter, having stated his intentions beforehand, could only smile wryly and indicate for them to be patient.

Uncertain of Mu Qingge’s intentions, after a brief silence, two or three thousand hesitantly stepped back five paces.

Perhaps they were unwilling to become Mu Qingge’s Personal Guards, or perhaps they believed that being on the battlefield was more honorable than being a trusted aide. However, most remained in place, puzzled.

Mu Qingge did not even glance at the two or three thousand who stepped back. Her gaze merely lingered on those who stayed, and she continued, ”Among those remaining, anyone over the age of twenty, please retreat five paces.”

The crowd was once again in an uproar.

Why was there an age restriction? Even if there was, shouldn’t it be the older, the better? After all, the older they were, the stronger their Cultivation Realm should be.

Why choose kids still at the Red Realm? To play games with their young lord?

Vice General Xiong shook his head in disappointment and strode over to Mu Xiong, saying in a deep voice, ”Old General, we can’t let the young lord mess around any longer.”

Mu Xiong furrowed his brows slightly, ’Is my grandson really just fooling around?’.

After a moment of contemplation, Mu Xiong said to Vice General Xiong, ”Let’s watch a bit longer.”

Vice General Xiong would not disobey Mu Xiong’s decision. He could only sigh and return to his peers.

With no one stepping in to intervene, over five thousand of the seven to eight thousand remaining stepped back. Those left were youths aged sixteen or seventeen to twenty, most of whom were at the Red Realm in cultivation.

After two rounds of selection, less than three thousand remained from the original ten thousand.

The number of Mu Qingge’s Personal Guard is to be five hundred. In other words, the selection ratio is five to one or six to one.

With eyes as clear as ice, her gaze swept over each remaining individual. After encompassing everyone in her view, Mu Qingge said, ”Now, for those who remain, you are to carry a weight of ten dan and run a hundred laps around the training grounds.”

After speaking, amidst the soldiers’ realization, she turned to Mo Yang and said, ”You too.”

Without hesitation, Mo Yang nodded silently, jumped off the Commanding Platform, and was the first to bear the weight. His actions caused a flicker of appreciation in Mu Qingge’s eyes.

With Mo Yang taking the lead, the remaining two to three thousand began to act.

Soon, the vast training ground reverberated with the sound of a thousand soldiers running laps.

A hundred laps; when calculated, that’s nearly a hundred miles.

Carrying a weight of ten dan, equivalent to thirty kilograms.

Without formidable stamina and willpower, completing the course would be nearly impossible.

By sunset, less than seven hundred people, utterly exhausted, managed to finish the hundred laps. Mo Yang was among them, his pale face and tightly pursed lips making no sound of complaint.

After glancing at those six hundred and seventy, Mu Qingge turned to Mu Xiong and said, ”Grandfather, Qingge has completed the first round of selection. These six hundred and seventy individuals are candidates for my Personal Guard. As for which one hundred and seventy will be eliminated later, Qingge will provide an answer in ten days.”

With just a glance, she already knew the numbers clearly. It seems this young lord is not as useless as the rumors suggest. But what is she really aiming for?

The deputy generals exchanged glances secretly, each speculating in their hearts.
