Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 586: Even If She Leaves, She’ll Leave With Her Head Held High.

Su Zhen… was suddenly speechless.

He said, “Don’t be hasty. I’ll… make a call and look into it.”

If this matter really made its way to his father, he would not need to explain anything. He just needed to wait to be skinned.

Mrs Yue was not appeased, and added another word, “You have to handle this. My daughter-in-law cannot be mistreated.”

Su Zhen nodded his head. “Okay Aunty, I will definitely… inquire into it, and downplay this matter.”

“Not downplay, my Qingsi cannot suffer loss from this.”

“Don’t worry, she won’t…”

After hanging up, Su Zhen felt his headache grew. After the meeting, he found someone to look into Yan Qingsi’s case.

“It is true that a police report has been made, but the district dispatch center hasn’t sent anyone to investigate it yet.”

“It’s not necessary to send someone else. Take two people to go and investigate, why did Yan Qingsi assault someone.”

“How should we handle it? Regardless of her reasons, she did assault someone, the evidence is there.”

Su Zhen did not reply and just looked at him.

The police officer hesitated for a moment, before realizing what his superior meant. “Alright, yes sir, don’t worry. I’ll investigate this thoroughly…”

…

Before the next day, pictures and videos of Yan Qingsi’s interview at the main entrance had already made its rounds on the internet.

The media companies seemed to have discussed among themselves and would release the news in waves. They would release the first wave of videos on the same night. It was of Yan Qingsi’s back and forth with the reporters. It had been edited to seem like Yan Qingsi was looking disrespectful and was insulting the reporters. It looked like she was arrogant and wild.

It had the effect of attracting a large number of people into the group that attacked Yan Qingsi.

However, after someone revealed the footage of Yan Qingsi grabbing the microphone and speaking to the cameras after Yue Tingfeng had eggs thrown at him, a small group of dissenting voices started to grow online.

A very famous influencer published a post on Weibo, [Everyone is still attacking Yan Qingsi, wanting her to get out of the entertainment circle, but they missed out a crucial question, how did she come to blows with Zeng Yingying? It couldn’t be without reason. Even if it’s bullying, there must be a reason. I’m more interested in that.]

This post did not gain much traction in the beginning, but after Qin Jingzhi liked the post, the rate of reposting exploded in an instant.

Yan Qingsi’s fans saw the opportunity, and quickly organized, starting their efforts to flood the post everywhere.

[Seeing my goddess being arrogant, why do I feel so good?]

[I’m a brain dead fan of my goddess, I trust her. she wouldn’t attack someone without reason, please give us the truth.]

[No cover-ups, no deflections, just the truth. if my goddess has to leave, she’ll leave with her head held high.]

[Goddess, you’re so cool, you’re so cool[1], I’ve already bowed completely for you…]

Yan Qingsi had just woken up and saw Yue Tingfeng scrolling on his phone. She slid over and took a look.

“I’ve been abused to a new height?”

Yue Tingfeng reached around to pull Yan Qingsi into his arms, “Soon…”

After they had returned, they did nothing else but shower and then sleep in each other’s arms. The warmth moved Yan Qingsi.

Yan Qingsi scanned over a few trending keywords, saying, “It’s fine, let them release it slowly…”

The media intended to use her to gain the most attention. There was already a sizeable number of people theorizing that it was all a gimmick. Yan Qingsi smirked, a gimmick, she didn’t even need a gimmick to be all over the headlines.

However, Zeng Yingying was obviously using this incident to gain sympathy points, playing it up, thinking of using it as an opportunity to increase her brand recognition.

However, Yan Qingsi was in no rush, not at all. This incident, the longer it dragged out, the greater the results of her counterattack.

…

[1] the original term used was handsome, but it can also mean cool in Mandarin. I’ve gone for the latter.
