Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 451: Women, They Are Made To Be Played

You Xi’s face shriveled like a wilting flower. He was here for a good time with the girl and this old lady appeared out of nowhere. He was not here to find a mother.

You Xi did not know who the old lady was. He did not catch Yan Qingsi addressing the lady as auntie. He wondered if she was Yan Qingsi’s mother.

He should have gathered more information from Ye Shaoguang.

You Xi was adept in fooling around with girls. He would say that his success rate for picking up girls was almost a hundred percent, it was just that he had not found any pretty girls lately. Yan Qingsi had the looks and attitude. There was also an unusual sense of familiarity lingering around her which only served to entice him more.

After all, women are meant to be bedded.

You Xi came up with a quick response. “Yes, I… I’m here to treat Miss Yan to supper. It has been a long, tiring day at work.”

Mrs. Yue tugged at Yan Qingsi’s hand and nodded. She spoke in a dramatic fashion, “This guy is good. So caring and considerate.”

Yan Qingsi forced a smile and said, “In that case… Let’s all have supper together then.”

She knew that Mrs. Yue was intentionally messing around with this playboy. Yan Qingsi only acquiesced since the old lady wanted to play.

You Xi thought in his mind, ‘Fine, I’ll take the old woman along. Else Yan Qingsi might be somewhat difficult to handle.’

This first meal would pave way to more in the future.

Perhaps after the second meal, he would have his chance…

You Xi nodded and said, “To have two lovely ladies to join me for a meal, it is my honor. Please, come on board.”

“Then, this flower…” He looked toward Yan Qingsi with a rose in his hand.

Before You Xi could finish his sentence, Mrs. Yue interjected cheerfully. “Oh! This flower is beautiful. Young man, you are such a gem. Did you buy this for me? Really, you’re too kind. There are few youngsters these days who are so attentive. I’m old now and not in need of these things but I thank you nonetheless. What is you name, young man?”

You Xi answered, “Auntie, my surname is You. You Xi is my name.”

Mrs. Yue was surprised. A laugh escaped her mouth as she said, “Huh… This name… Such a meaningful name. You Xi… A game of life, what a good name. Good, good, sounds like fun.”

You Xi… He was speechless. Was this old lady complimenting him or the opposite?

She seemed like a friendly and approachable old lady. Her words were spoken in a cordial tone, was it unintentional or on purpose?

Yan Qingsi held back her laughter. Beneath that harmless facade of an old woman laid a natural evil.

Xiao Xu sent Mrs. Yue’s luggage back to the hotel room.

Then, Yan Qingsi, Xiao Xu, and Mrs. Yue went into You Xi’s car.

During the journey, Mrs. Yue drowned You Xi with an abundance of compliments. A variety of praises later, You Xi felt his ego swell. He thought in his head, ‘Who knew that I was such a good man?’

This was the first time someone had praised You Xi to high heaven and the feeling was exhilarating.

When his ego had calmed down, a worry nagged at him. If Yan Qingsi’s mother adored him so, there might be an issue when he decides to cut ties.

It would be a sticky situation. You Xi sighed internally, seemed like there was a price for perfection.

It was the first time You Xi regarded his excellence as a hindrance.

Footnotes:

You Xi is a homonym for ‘game’ in Mandarin.

I believe the author meant Mrs. Yue only, not Xiao Xu.
