Yan Qingsi picked up the thermos and walked out to the bathroom in the corridor to wash it after finishing her food. Mrs. Yue did not say anything to stop her from going and she felt that this was quite natural. ‘She is already part of the family, is there a need to be so courteous?’

She was carrying the thermos back after washing it when she saw Yan Ruke, who was holding a lunchbox hesitantly at the door.

Yan Qingsi’s eyes brightened instantly. Yan Ruke… She was just thinking about looking for this lady. Since Yan Ruke showed herself up, she would show no mercy.

The car had been tampered with and she did not believe that Yan Ruke sincerely wanted to save her.

Anyone in the world might save her, anyone other than Yan Ruke.

It was not simply the resentment between her and the Yan family for the two of them.

Yan Qingsi walked over with a sneer on the corner of her lips. The moment Yan Ruke passed through the door, Yan Qingsi collided into her back forcefully with Yan Qingsi’s shoulder. Yan Ruke staggered and her body hit the doorframe squarely. The thermos that she held was knocked out of her hand and fell to the floor with a thump and the soup inside spilled out onto the ground.

Yan Qingsi smirked and toed the thermos. “Tsk tsk, it’s my dear aunt. I’m so sorry. It hurts, doesn’t it?”

Yan Ruke looked pale. She bowed her head, panicking. “Qingsi… Sorry…”

It caught the attention of everyone in the room. Mrs. Yue scratched the back of her hand. ‘Ah, so awkward. Where should I look? I should just look at my son’s face.’

Yan Qingsi reached out and wrapped her arm around Yan Ruke’s shoulder, her hand pressing on where she hit the doorframe, pinching forcefully. “Sorry?”

Yan Ruke’s face paled at the pain. “I heard that both of you were injured, I… wanted, I wanted to come and see the two of you, I…”

Yan Ruke looked really pitiful. Without fine makeup, messy hair, pale face, dark circles under her eyes—she looked like she had not slept for nights. Her eyes were swollen. Blood veins, guilt, and anxiety could be seen in her eyes.

Yan Qingsi smiled. “Come to see what? Watch me be sweet with your ex… Or you wanted to… see something else?”

Yan Ruke’s eyes were red-rimmed. “I’m sorry, it’s me, I harmed you… I’ve gone to surrender. I’ve told the police everything I know. Qingsi, I know you’re not willing to forgive me. All these years… We have a lot of things in our way. It might not be possible to clear things up but we are still bonded by blood. I have never forgotten our days in the countryside during our younger years. I still remember that you loved to play with me the most. I’m sorry for the things after. I’ve made mistakes, I can’t face you… If it’s possible, I’m willing to make it up to you. I’m willing to do anything, I’m sorry.”

Yan Ruke really looked like someone who was repenting and full of guilt.

Yan Qingsi sneered. Repentance?

Regardless of her sincerity, Yan Qingsi could never forgive Yan Ruke even if she was genuinely remorseful.

Some vengeance could be forgiven and forgotten… but some will never stop until death.

Yan Qingsi’s hand pinched Yan Ruke’s shoulder tightly. “Ah, Aunt still knows how to speak nicely. A person like me doesn’t want much. I’ve actually talked to Yan Songnan about it. If you really want to compensate me, want to make up for your mistakes, then die.

“I’ll believe what you’ve said when you’re really dead!”

Yan Ruke’s body trembled even more. “You’ll forgive me as long as I die?”
