Yes, she did not wish to refuse his offer.

Perhaps she was a selfish person, however, that was her true self.

Unsure if whatever she felt was love, however, she would not want to reject this warmth feeling she felt. She wished to receive so much from others, however, she alone was unable to return the favor. All she knew was to be selfish and nothing else.

Yue Tingfeng let out a sigh of relief, raised his eyebrows and said, “What do you mean, what else can you do, just leave it as it is. I don’t wish for your acceptance and you could not reject me, all this to me would be the best outcome I could wish for. You are mine alone to have and I don’t want you to love me immediately, I too would not probe too deeply to your matters. However, whatever that you go through and whatever that you get yourself involved in, I want to be a part of all of it.”

Yue Tingfeng had always been so unreasonable and shameless, however, looking past all of that, I will give you an impenetrable stronghold.

I do not need you to love this stronghold, however, you would need to be in it.

The summer night cold breeze was blowing, bringing with it a welcoming and refreshing comfort.

The smile on Yan Qingsi’s face was blooming like a flower as the cold wind swept through her face. Illuminating the night sky with her beauty alone. It was the most captivating sight anyone could lay their eyes on.

“Yue Tingfeng, do you know that sometimes you are the most hated person ever.” Yan Qingsi said.

Yue Tingfeng replied with a grin, “Of course I know. I am well aware of how much hate I caused. Ever since I was a young boy, there was none that didn’t hate my guts. Hate me all you want, there is nothing you could do about it!”

He extended his hand to push her hair aside from her face and said, “What I told you earlier, I want you to know that I am not forcing you to accept anything. The point was, I feel like you have every right to know how I felt about you and where you stood in my heart even more so, you were never a toy to be played with in my life and most importantly, I am serious about us.”

“Besides… To think I poured my heart and soul out for you, and you thought so little of it, so I think it’s better off if I put a little pressure on you, to make you aware that I am here, so stop flirting with any other guys out there. You belong to me, so I do not like the idea of any random guy to think they had a chance on you.” Yue Tingfeng added.

This statement made Yan Qingsi burst out in laughter. She said, “Alright…”

Yue Tingfeng playfully lifted her chin up and said, “Try finding for your lost heart back, I’ll help you look for it as well, so before you are certain about how you feel, you will be my girlfriend and of course… when you are certain about your feelings, you will entirely belong to me alone.”

“What if, when I had found my heart, I realize I love someone else?” Yan Qingsi asked playfully.

Yue Tingfeng let go of her and said, “Hehe… You are welcome to try, bring whichever random man along with you, I happen to have more tricks up my sleeve.”

Yan Qingsi had mixed feelings in her heart, it was complicated at the very least. It was quite bittersweet to put things plainly.

However, in the midst of all conflicting feelings she felt, a seed of hope had been planted deep in her heart.

…

Helan Fangnian opened his eyes only to find the both of them had disappeared from the bed, not a single trace was left behind. He slowly sat up to pull apart the curtains and open up the windows.

It was silent and serene in a hospital at night.

This silence reminded Helan Fangnian of the first night he had met Yan Qingsi.

He was in an undercover mission to gather intel and evidence from the mafia, he had been found out and was hunted by them. At the same time, Yan Qingsi too was avoiding her own adversaries, and the both of them coincidentally ran into each other, in a foreign land and somehow beyond all odds were both from the same country and spoke the same language. And so, being in the same circumstances they got to know each other from the ironic experience.

It felt like a scene from a movie.

Unfortunately, they never ended anywhere close to how the movie ends.

Out of sudden, the silence was broken by the loud squeak of the door being pushed open, as the door swung open, Yue Tingfeng was hugging Yan Qingsi as he walked in. All while having a smug look on his face.

“Good lord, what are you doing all awake at this hour, stop standing there all sad and grieving with the windows opened. Close the damn windows would you, you’re letting the mosquitoes in. You may not mind about being bitten by mosquitoes, but I do very much.” Yue Tingfeng exclaimed.

“You both weren’t asleep as well at this hour.” Helan Fangnian replied as he shut the windows.

“Yea, I wasn’t asleep yet. What are you going to do about it?” Yue Tingfeng replied as he kissed Yan Qingsi while he hugged her tighter.
