Child of Destiny

Shin was also itching to test this new technique that he had just learned, especially when there was someone before him who could fight him one-sidedly, just like Shiella and David.

Moreover, he also sensed that he might be able to use the Heart Realm Technique much more easily than Professor Henry had told him through the insights and experiences that had been passed on to him.

It was as if he could summon the third stage of the technique instinctively and use it perfectly as if was a technique that truly belonged to him.

The entire process seemed to be much easier as well when he used it alongside the Jade Kirin Scripture, which could even help him maintain that state without problem.

He was about to ask Randel for some help to test all these when he suddenly saw the latter suppress the urge to fight him.

It was also at that moment that Shin recalled that Randel was currently undergoing a special training, particularly meant for controlling his emotions.

“Let’s forget about it for now. After all, we have no one to keep us in check. I am afraid that it will escalate way too out of control if no one is to look after us, Haha,” said Randel honestly, knowing himself too well.

…

Shin originally did not want to have this senior bring him home, but Randel insisted and followed him. The latter even said that it was an instruction from Professor Henry himself, sealing off all opportunities and reasons for Shin to refuse.

After all, he was also fully aware of their current situation, especially when the ongoing war with the Black Serpent Mafia and its close allies.

When Shin returned, he asked Randel to stay for the night, telling the latter that they had too many available rooms anyway.

Randel did not stand in the ceremony either and accepted the offer.

“You can use one of the guest rooms on the second floor. I have informed the others as well through a message, so they will not be surprised when they see you tomorrow morning,” said Shin while leading Randel to the guest room.

On the other hand, Randel was spreading his senses while investigating the entire place and making sure that there was no threat around.

That was why he realized that there were quite a lot of experts guarding the two villas adjacent to each other.

Moreover, these people seemed to be from different forces as well. They seemed to be from all the families that these kids were involved with.

“Springfield Family, Cilvana Family, Stuart Clan, and even the Potter Clan,” he mumbled as he could sense that these people had also locked their ‘gazes’ at him right after he spread his senses.

He also noticed that quite a few people were looking at him through special means, particularly with the deadly sensation that was giving him goosebumps.

“This sensation-… snipers? Through the wall?” he was surprised when he realized this and immediately realized the identity of these people. “There are even Hitmen from the Goldstien Family?”

He could only shake his head bitterly after realizing how secure this place was, even when compared to Magic Ace Academy.

He had already spotted quite a few people from the other areas within the neighborhood. All of them were powerful experts as well, further increasing the security of the place.

Even now, he could also tell that the few houses nearby were filled with such experts.

Given the strength of these people, Randel understood why Shin and the others felt a bit too carefree when settling within the villa.

He could also sense a strong formation protecting the two villas, indicating that they were under triple protection.

He recalled that these kids had suffered multiple attempts in their lives before, which made him understand why such security was built around them.

Adding the fact that all of them were scions and heirs of their respective families, he also could not say that the security around the neighborhood was something exaggerated.

After leading Randel to his room, Shin bade him farewell and said he would be done for today. “You can stay here for now, Senior. Make sure to wake up early tomorrow. I will prepare a feast for everyone.”

Shin chuckled while heading to his room.

…

Looking at the digital clock on his wall, Shin realized that it was still too ‘early’ in the night. He originally wanted to collapse on his bed and call it a day, so that he could rest properly.

Unfortunately, he still felt too energetic after exiting his trance earlier. He was full of energy, which was why he was planning to spar with Randel earlier.

“I guess I will log in for now and test some theories within the virtual world first,” he mumbled before entering his gaming cabin.

Swoosh!

However, instead of directly entering the game, he went to the Virtual Space of their team. He was planning to experiment with this newly found ability that he had gotten and see if he could use it in the virtual world as well.

He was not planning to use the Heart Realm Technique in the real world yet, especially after sensing that there was no need for it.

He felt that this technique had a second nature for him in the real world, especially when he used it alongside the Jade Kirin Scripture.

However, that was just one of the reasons that were stopping him from directly using the technique in the real world alone.

He felt that something major would happen if he used this technique in the real world, which was why he wanted someone to oversee the entire process so they could avoid any accidents later.

It was better to be careful.

However, trying it in the virtual world could also save him some trouble, especially since the built-in protective measures in the gaming cabin would surely protect him if such accidents occurred.

It would also alarm the others ahead of time, giving them enough time to come to his rescue.

Aside from this, he could also consult Uno with ease when they were within the virtual world, lessening the possible risks in the process.

Swoosh!

Right after appearing within the Virtual Space, Shin swiftly heads to the private training room before sitting cross-legged at its center.

He entered a deep meditation state, planning to communicate with Uno.

[Don’t disturb me. I am still not done digesting that ‘thing’.]

Not long after, Uno’s voice immediately rang inside his head, warning him.

“I am sure that the entire process is going quite well,” Shin smirked when he heard the voice and immediately continued. “I can tell that you have gotten quite a huge fill and even put everything under control.”

“If not, then you will never have any energy communicating with me recently,” he added, feeling surer about this.

“You have said that you will have to be in deep slumber when digesting those two energies, but it seems like you are feasting on it without any problem, especially after Mom has taken a look at us before leaving the Springfield Household,” he continued, not giving Uno any excuse to refuse him.

Not waiting for Uno to say anything more, Shin directly asked what he wanted to know. “You should be aware of the variation that happened when I was digesting the technique imparted to me by Professor Henry.”

“I can also tell that you have some ideas about it.”

“There is no need to hide anything and tell me what you know. It will save us a lot of time if you just tell me about it,” he asked, understanding that Uno still needed some time to fully digest everything.

[It is not that complicated. All of these are just a product of multiple encounters that you have had altogether.] Uno sighed helplessly.

[The fact that you have touched a tiny portion of ‘it’ is already impressive enough. Then that immaculate being that you have gotten your hands on, along with that sacred pill, this little ‘portion’ that you have gotten has started to bloom.]

[Then it is nurtured by that ritual by the ruins that those monks have left behind, planting yet another ‘seed’ within you-… or rather ‘Us’ to be more specific]

[However, this ‘seed’ is different from what you are thinking.]

[Let us say that it is a little something that can help you – or us – in the future. This little seed will be the key to achieving something that your parents are hoping for.]

[After that, the technique given to you by the old man and the one that the Madam has imparted to you further nurture it, slowly blooming into something even bigger.]

[All in all, regardless of your doubts, it is something good for you and me. There is no need to be too worried about everything.]

Uno then paused for a moment before continuing. [But I must say. That trick that the old man has imparted to you is going to be extremely useful on multiple occasions in the future.]

[However, do not try to do what you are thinking right now. Or else, something truly troublesome will surely arise.]

[Even our combined forces will not be enough when it happens,] he added along with a mystifying tone.

Shin wanted to ask for more, but Uno immediately ‘disappeared’ once again after saying his piece, leaving him with nothing but helplessness.

After a while, he opened his eyes and looked around. “Then I guess I will have to train by myself first before giving it a try against Cecil to finally finish that stupid trial.”
