Child of Destiny

Shin was surprise when he saw the flawless control of the mysterious hooded guy over his simple combo. Those two attacks seemed to be a pair of normal and simple movements when someone looked at it on a spectator’s perspective. But in fact, those attacks were quite a complex series of movements. The hooded guy was able to accomplish it only because he was already used at executing those movements as it become a natural movement for him.

’This guy must be a swordsman in the real world. If I compare those movements with a real Martial-artist, then he is at least at Swordmaster Level,’ thought Shin to himself when he saw that combo from the hooded guy. A single look was more than enough for him to gauge the strength of this guy.

And Shin knew for himself that he couldn’t do any better than this guy. At least not at his current strength. And on the next moment, the hooded guy showed how huge difference between his and Shin’s swordsmanship.

The hooded guy sprinted forward with a great speed while swinging his right-hand sword forward. And immediately after that, a powerful sword wave was sent forward while traveling in a straight line.

That skill was somewhat similar to the ’Eclipse Slash’ that was in Shin’s skill arsenal. But difference in control was immediately showed when the corrupted monster tried to block its path.

That supposedly straight sword wave suddenly made a clever spiral turn midway and avoid the corrupted monster blocking its way when the hooded guy did another swing with the same sword. Then that sword wave continued at moving forward and charge towards Archbishop standing in front of the throne. But that was also been warded off by the same barrier that blocked the previous sword wave.

Bang!

That collision created an explosion that built up a cloud of dust. At the same time, the hooded guy already reached the 10-meter mark away from the throne. And that was also when the hooded guy used one of his charging skills.

Naturally, the corrupted monster wanted to blocked him. But as usual, that guy suddenly disappeared from the monster’s line of sight the moment he used his movement skill. And just like that, the hooded guy was already approaching the Archbishop with the cover of the cloud of dust.

’D*mn! That moment skill is quite normal, but what’s with that sword wave? You can do that kind of maneuver with a sword wave that was already release?’ thought Shin to himself when he saw what the hooded guy.

Then he looked at Simba who was on his right before asking. ”Ei~! Leo, who is that guy? He is really on a whole other level compared to the current me.”

Simba smirked at Shin’s words before saying. ”Heh~! That is not a big deal. He is just the current number one player of the game that was known in the public. The Sword God: Zero.”

He didn’t wait for Shin to asked something more and immediately directed his attention at the corrupted monster on his side who was already looking at them cautiously for quite a while already. ”And I guess we should start moving for now.”

Then he quickly rushed towards that monster without further ado. And as usual, he threw his battle-axe as an opening move during his dash.

Naturally, that corrupted monster wanted to dodge that battle-axe, but a bunch of magical bullets rained down at the monster before it could even move its body to dodge. And those bullets restricted its movements even if they didn’t deal much damage.

And due to that, the battle-axe successfully landed on the body of the corrupted monster and forced it to take a few steps backwards.

After hitting the monster, the battle-axe immediately bounced back in the air. Simba, on the other hand, hopped in the air to catch the battle-axe midair before forcing his body to descend once again while swinging the battle-axe at the corrupted monster.

Boom!

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Lawless, Faker and the others were also starting their battles. Hayden, Seven and Lawless were naturally the ones in the frontline while being supported by Stephanie with here buffs and heals. At the same time, Faker was currently circling at the back of the monster while throwing some burst attacks from time to time.

The couple of Ravier and Ember, on the other hand, were sending a bunch of spells with opposing elements. But instead of their skills negating the effects of each other, they were amplifying the damages that they could deal by taking advantage of the rapid change of temperature.

And when the others started being busy with their things, Shin also started making his move at the same time. He immediately rushed forward when Simba left him hanging with the topic that they were talking earlier. And during his charge, he felt that his body suddenly become lighter and stronger.

The buffs that he got was suddenly gotten him a little off-guard. He turned his head a little to take a brief look at his back, then he saw that Cloe were casting a buff after buff. ’Heh! Worthy for being the best support that you can have.’

’The combined bonus buffs that I get from these buffs are more than enough to surpass my berserk skills. Now, I understand the real importance of having a good support on a team. Maybe I should also look for an elemental spirit that have similar abilities.’

Then he turned his head at his front once again before sprinting forward.

The corrupted monster on his front was currently chasing after the hooded guy, who was Zero based on what Simba had said. But before that monster managed to catch up with Zero, Shin quickly pulled the [Yamato] out from its sheath before throwing a horizontal slash.

And immediately after that slash, a crescent sword wave with silver color was sent forward to chase after that monster.

’Class Fighting Style Lunar Flash’

Swoosh!

Boom!

Roar!

The corrupted monster released a pain roar after getting hit by that sword wave. Its attention was suddenly directed to Shin due to the damage that it had taken. It turned its body and started rushing towards the latter.

But its movements were slowed due to the chilling effects of the previous skill the Shin had used. And before the corrupted monster could start charging forward, another crescent sword wave was sent fly towards it; and this time, it was blazing with black colored flame.

’Extra Skill: (Modified) Flame Burst’

Bang!

Boom!

Then an explosion was created, that forced the corrupted monster to take a few steps backwards. And just like before, the opposing elements dealt an additional damage due to the sudden change of temperature; the chemical reaction was triggered once again.

And that was when the self-Fire-Ice Combo of Shin started once again. He took advantage of the time when the corrupted monster took a couple of steps backward to accumulate another bunch of water/ice mana from his surroundings. Then he directed it towards his sword while transforming them into the power of the Silver Moon.

Roar!

Then monster become enraged due to the continues damage that it took, so it immediately leaped forward to attack Shin.

But that was also a huge mistake. It was because Shin quickly swing the [Yamato] once again while also releasing the accumulated Power of the Silver Moon towards the corrupted monster. And that created another crescent sword wave. But this time, this silver sword wave was almost forming a full circle when someone looked at it from above.

’Self-Created Skill: Full Moon Slash’

Bang!

Freeze!

The corrupted monster was immediately frozen midair when the huge sword wave landed on its body. It was because for the suddenly temperature once again.

While the monster was still in the air, Shin quickly positioned himself slightly below it while gathering another bunch of elemental mana on his sword. But this time, it was the fire elemental mana that transformed into the Power of the Black Sun a little later.

And without further ado, he quickly thrust his sword on the ground while also releasing all of the accumulated powers at the same time.

Boom!

Boom!

Then a pillar of black flame was sent upwards while covering a radius of 5 meters and extending with the height of 7 meters.

’Self-Created Skill: Solaris Pillar’

And the monster took another additional damage due to the special effects, which enraged it even more. It wanted to tear Shin’s body apart. But before the monster fell on the ground, another giant sword wave was immediately sent to it.

Swoosh!

’Slayer Skill: (Modified) Crescent Cleave’

Bang!

And the monster was frozen once again while falling back to the ground.

During that process, Shin was in the midst of putting back the [Yamato] inside its sheath while pouring it with another group fire elemental mana that he could transformed into the Power of the Black Sun once again.

And when the frozen body of the monster fell on the ground, Shin quickly pulled the sword out of its sheath for another time before swinging it horizontally. Then a black sword wave swiftly sent forward, briefly after that slash.

Shing!

’Class Fighting Style: Solar Flare’

Swoosh!

Bang!

And immediately after that, Shin quickly sheath his sword once again while enfolding his body with a silver light. A moment after that, he charged forward with a great speed and transformed himself into transformed into a stick of silver light.

And when his was passing though the body of the corrupted monster, he quickly pulled the sword once again while throwing a slash at the monster.

’Class Fighting Style: Moonlight Splitter’

That was the time when Shin made even a monster so helpless against his signature move and self-created combo.

And not far from him, Zero who was currently dealing with Archbishop Hervil, was able to see what Shin had done. Even if it was only from his peripheral vision, he could still tell what Shin was doing.

”What an amazing and flawless execution of a personalized combo. This guy has some insights with his sword. Maybe we can exchange some of our views of Swordsmanship. Hmm… But I rather do it when his strong enough. And that way, he may be able to become a grindstone for sharpening my sword,” muttered by Zero while keeping the Archbishop a little busy.
