Reborn As Noble

”Nya?”

Mimi, who was still sitting cross-legged on the floor, playing with the mana cubes floating around her hands, glanced up in confusion. She noticed Lyzia and Celine, who had been standing still just moments before, were now suddenly trembling, tears streaming down their faces. ”Why are those two suddenly looking so scared, nya?”

Gloria approached from behind, nudging her glasses up with a smirk. ”Ah~ That~”

She glanced down at Mimi, a knowing look in her eyes.

”Liana just used a special illusion skill called ’Spectral Manifestation.’ It’s an advanced mana technique that creates a hyper-realistic illusion directly inside the target’s mind. To them, everything they experienced felt completely real; the pain, the fear, the helplessness. It’s one of Liana’s most potent teaching tools, reserved for those who need a harsh lesson in reality.”

Mimi tilted her head, her ears twitching. ”Nyaaa... sounds scary...”

Gloria let out a soft chuckle. ”It is. But sometimes, a little fear is exactly what someone needs to understand how dangerous the world truly is.”

She glanced toward Lyzia, who was now clinging to Liana, sobbing into her sister’s chest while Liana gently stroked her hair. Celine stood nearby, still trembling, her face pale as she tried to steady her breathing.

Felicia, who had been watching quietly, let out a soft sigh. ”Poor Celine... she didn’t deserve to be caught up in that. She was just following Lyzia’s lead, and she got the same punishment because of her.”

Gloria nudged her glasses up, her voice calm. ”Well... it’s for Celine’s own good too. What Liana showed them will make them both take the training seriously after this. Sometimes, fear is the best teacher.”

Delya, who was as usual hugging her chocolate jar, stopped next to Gloria and glanced up. ”Do we also need to join the training in the first training hall?”

Gloria smirked, shaking her head. ”No. But we should accompany them for a while before we head to our own training zone.”

Felicia rested her palm on her cheek, her expression thoughtful. ”Still... that kind of experience can leave a lasting trauma. It might take them a while to recover from that, both mentally and emotionally.”

Gloria nudged her glasses up, shaking her head gently. ”No~ Look.”

She gestured with a subtle purse of her lips toward where Liana was now pulling Celine into her embrace, both of her hands glowing with a beautiful, gentle green light as she stroked their heads. The emerald energy pulsed softly, washing over Lyzia and Celine like a warm, calming tide.

”That’s one of Liana’s special skills,” Gloria explained. ”A healing and calming technique that only she possesses. It gently eases the mind, soothing the lingering fear and trauma from the illusion. It’s called ’Soul’s Lullaby.’ It’s not just a simple calming spell; it purifies the mind of lingering dread, replaces it with clarity, and helps the person understand the lesson without being burdened by the emotional scars.”

She paused, watching Liana hold both girls close.

”Liana may be strict, even harsh at times, but she never does anything out of cruelty. She always makes sure that after a painful lesson, healing follows right after. It’s one of the reasons why Young Master trusts her so deeply with the training and well-being of his wives.”

Meanwhile.

Gaze City.

Garius sat at the head of the table, reviewing the paperwork and documents spread before him. His expression was calm and focused, his eyes scanning each page with practiced precision. Alf sat at a nearby table, carefully arranging the final documents into neat stacks, while Erinette prepared drinks for both of them.

The quiet rhythm of the room was interrupted by a soft knock at the door.

Erinette glanced up, her hands pausing briefly before she resumed her work. Garius didn’t lift his gaze, simply raising a hand in a silent signal.

The door opened slightly, and a soldier peeked inside before stepping in the moment Garius gave a subtle nod. He walked forward, stopped at a respectful distance, and saluted crisply.

”Your Majesty!”

”Hmm? Yes, Majar?” Garius finally looked up, his eyes meeting the soldier’s.

The soldier extended a sealed paper in his hand. ”Urgent message from the eastern border, Your Majesty.”

Garius nodded slowly. Alf rose from his seat, moving with quiet efficiency to take the paper from the soldier. He reviewed it briefly before handing it to Garius.

Garius took the document, his eyes scanning the contents. After a moment, he gestured toward the soldier. ”You may return to your duties.”

”As you command, Your Majesty!” The soldier saluted again before turning and leaving the room, closing the door softly behind him.

”Alf?”

”Yes, Your Majesty?”

”Contact the eastern border and inform them to escort the Amazarak messenger to the capital. Make sure he arrives here safely and without any interference.”

Alf nodded, his expression calm and composed. ”Understood, Your Majesty. I will relay the orders immediately.”

Alf channeled his mana, tapping the mana talkie on his ear before speaking in a clear, authoritative tone.

”This is Gaze City Headquarters. We have received word of an Amazarak messenger arriving from the eastern border. Escort him to Gaze City immediately. Ensure his safety and do not allow anyone to interfere with his journey. Use a secure route and keep his presence discreet.”

A voice crackled back through. ”Understood. We will dispatch a squad to meet him and escort him to the capital.”

Alf ended the transmission and turned back to Garius. ”The orders have been sent, Your Majesty. The eastern border will handle the escort personally.”

Garius nodded, his gaze returning to the document in his hand. ”Good. We’ll see what message that other summoned hero from the other continent has for us. This could be a valuable opportunity to gain insight into Julius’s plans and the invasion that’s coming.”

Garius smirked, taking a slow sip of the drink Erinette had served before setting it down. He glanced at Alf, his voice calm but carrying a hint of satisfaction.

”Even though we already have all the information we need to prepare for the upcoming invasion from the other continent, thanks to King Garreth’s foresight and the documents Celine brought with her, this message from Vane could still prove valuable.”

He paused, his fingers tapping lightly against the table.

”Garreth provided us with detailed intelligence on the other continent’s military strength, their flying ships, their weaponry, and the general structure of their forces. He even gave us insight into Julius’s personality and his relationship with the other summoned heroes. That alone has given us a significant advantage in our preparations.”

Garius leaned back slightly, his expression thoughtful.

”But Vane... he could be useful for something even better. A man who has been betrayed, who carries a grudge, who knows the inner workings of their leadership... he could provide us with a different kind of advantage. Not just information, but perhaps... a tool for disruption from within. A key to turning their own strength against them.”

He glanced at Alf, his eyes sharp and knowing. ”Has our surveillance unit already tracked the girl?”
