Reborn As Noble

If only there was a way to grow even stronger than him or Julius.

But that’s impossible. The gap is too wide.

Julius is the strongest among us. His skill is terrifying. Despite always wearing that calm, smiling face, I’ve seen what he can do. He can crush an entire army with a single spell, and he doesn’t even break a sweat. And Vane, despite being weaker, is still far above me in both power and strategy.

He is untouchable. His power is on another level.

I hate it.

I hate them both.

Jaigar turned his head when he heard the sound of approaching hooves. A horse galloped toward them, kicking up dust as it came to a stop.

Vane and the others paused, glancing toward the rider.

Falce climbed down from the horse, her expression tense as she gave a respectful nod. ”Sir Vane.”

”Hmm? Falce? Where is Gorak?”

Falce bit her lower lip in frustration, her hands clenching at her sides. ”Sir Vane. May I request permission to return to our continent?”

Vane tilted his head, his brow furrowing in confusion. ”Why?”

Falce let out a shaky breath, her voice trembling with barely restrained frustration. ”I can’t work with Gorak and his team anymore. They mock me constantly, they never listen to my advice, and during the mission that was supposed to gather information, they ignored every plan I suggested. They treat me like I’m useless, even though I’m the one keeping them alive with my buffs and healing. I’ve had enough.”

Falce glanced up at Vane, who crossed his arms with his usual calm expression.

”They allowed themselves to be humiliated by a stranger, failed to track him down, and wasted valuable time. They even slaughtered refugees for amusement rather than focusing on the task. I was threatened by my own teammates, and Gorak failed to control them. Despite my value as a support and buffer, they treated me as disposable.”

”Hmm...” Vane rubbed his chin thoughtfully, his gaze fixed on Falce. ”Very well. You may join my party for now. Once the mission is complete, I will personally ensure you receive a reassignment.”

Falce’s eyes widened with relief. ”Thank you, Sir Vane.”

Vane turned back toward the base, his voice calm but firm. ”For now, rest and recover. You’ll be needed soon.”

Jaigar gritted his teeth, his fists clenching at his sides.

Damn!

I was hoping this girl would be assigned to my team so I could have some fun with her.

But there’s no way I can say anything against Vane.

He glanced at Vane and his party members, a bitter scowl twisting his face.

Well...

I can’t wait to see Gorak being dealt with by Vane.

I hate that guy too.

That dumb bastard doesn’t even realize how strong his party was with Falce. Without her, he’s nothing.

Jaigar narrowed his eyes, forcing himself to hide the dark smirk threatening to spread across his face.

Wait a minute...

Since Falce is no longer on Gorak’s team...

That means they have no buff support, and Gorak and his girls are just a bunch of weakened fighters.

And... he’s not someone who can fight in close quarters. He relies on his bow and his team’s protection. Without Falce’s enhancements, he’s vulnerable.

That means I could kill him and his entire party with ease.

And with my special skill...

I could absorb his divine weapon, that shitty bow’s power, into my Knuckle Duster.

Not just his weapon... I could absorb his skills, his experience, and the strength of his entire party. Every technique they’ve mastered, every battle they’ve fought, every ounce of power they’ve accumulated, it would all flow into me.

Jaigar’s grin widened, his eyes gleaming with dark ambition.

This means I could grow even stronger. With Gorak’s abilities and his girls’ powers absorbed into me, I would become a force to be reckoned with.

Jaigar’s grin widened, his eyes gleaming with dark ambition.

He glanced toward Vane, who was too focused on inspecting the area and meeting with the Amazarak chief in charge of the slaves.

Perfect.

Let them focus on their little inspection.

I’ll make my move when the time is right.

Jaigar’s grin turned predatory as he licked his lips, savoring the thought of the chaos to come.

Once I have double the power and all of Gorak and his girls’ abilities, I’ll target the next rank above him. I’ll kill them too, absorb their power and skills. And then, one by one, I’ll eliminate my own party members... anyone who stands above me.

He glanced at his knuckle duster, his fingers flexing with anticipation.

With every skill and power I absorb, my Knuckle Duster will evolve. Not just close-range strikes, but long-range attacks, magic, and every technique I absorb. It will become the ultimate weapon, capable of anything.

His grin turned predatory as his gaze shifted toward Vane.

And once I have everything... I’ll kill him right here. I’ll absorb his technique, his mind, his strategy, everything he possesses. With all that power combined, I’ll be able to challenge Julius himself and claim the position of Supreme Leader.

He let out a low, dark chuckle, his eyes gleaming with manic ambition.

Seven years of humiliation... seven years of being looked down on. I’ve endured their mockery, their arrogance, their scorn. But soon... it will all end.

He clenched his fist, his knuckle duster glowing faintly.

I will rise to the top. I will claim all three goddesses as my own and become the sole strongest summoned hero. Every power, every skill, even Julius’s strength will be mine.

His grin stretched wide, his eyes burning with obsession.

Ah~ I can’t wait for the moment I crush them all beneath my heel.

Meanwhile.

Vane maintained his calm expression, but his sharp eyes caught Jaigar’s barely concealed smirk and the dark ambition flickering in his gaze. A mysterious, knowing smirk formed on his lips as he turned his attention back to the Amazarak chief, who was bowing before him.

”Starting tomorrow, there will be a new schedule for the work. Tell your people that I will be in charge of this place starting today. You will all be given three meals a day, access to clean water, and proper rest.”

His voice dropped, laced with a cold warning as he leaned slightly closer.

”But let me warn you and your people. Anyone who is lazy after being given these privileges will be killed on the spot. I have no use for lazy, useless workers. I want to see progress, and I want to see it fast.”

He paused, his tone shifting to something smoother.

”However, if you and your people work hard and meet my expectations, I will consider granting you and your people certain rewards. Gold. Better living conditions. And perhaps, once the base is fully operational, freedom for those who prove themselves useful.”

The chief’s eyes widened with hope before he bowed his head again. ”T... thank you, Sir Vane. We will not disappoint you.”
