Reborn As Noble

After riding at full speed for a while,

Javier and Buddy finally reached a small town.

It wasn’t yet at the border borders;

still a good distance from the frontline.

But the town was lively.

Merchants were calling out their wares, blacksmiths hammering steel, villagers moving carts of goods through the dusty streets.

As they entered, Buddy slowed down a bit, causing only a few heads to turn.

A large Pekko wasn’t an everyday sight outside of the big cities.

Javier led Buddy to a stop near the town square.

He slid down smoothly from the saddle, patting Buddy’s side.

For some reason, he didn’t quite understand why.

Even though he was rushing toward the battlefield, a feeling tugged at his mind.

You need to buy supplies.

Not just for yourself.

Something kept telling him that.

He should get flour, dried meat, salt, spices, basic food supplies.

He couldn’t quite explain it.

Call it instinct.

Call it preparation.

But it was best to listen to that feeling.

“Alright, Buddy.”

“Let’s do a quick shopping run.”

Buddy responded with a chuckle, flapping his wings once, looking content.

Javier strolled casually toward the market stalls, scanning the goods.

He moved efficiently, buying several sacks of flour, dried jerky, salt pouches, spices, and some basic rations.

The merchants smiled broadly when they saw him pay with gold coins, not bothering to haggle.

He packed everything neatly into his magic storage, finishing his shopping quickly.

When he finished, he returned to Buddy, who was pecking at a nearby barrel like a curious child.

Javier shook his head with a small grin.

“Alright. Got everything.”

He still didn’t know why he felt this way.

But deep down, he believed that soon… having extra supplies would be very useful.

“Alright, Buddy,”

Javier said, securing the last supplies safely into his magic storage. “We continue moving.”

“Cuquawked!”

Buddy squawked excitedly, clearly eager to continue their journey.

Javier effortlessly climbed onto Buddy’s back, settling comfortably in the saddle.

He gently tapped Buddy’s side, prompting the Pekko to move at a steady pace—not a rushed sprint, but quick enough to reach their next destination before sunset.

As they approached the checkpoint leading out of town, several Beastkin guards stood watch, carefully observing passing travelers.

When they noticed Javier, the guards immediately recognized the Armand household emblem clearly displayed on his clothing and gear.

They quickly relaxed, stepping aside respectfully without any questions or delays.

One guard quietly communicated through his mana talkie, likely reporting Javier’s smooth passage, as ordered beforehand by King Lioness himself, who had previously informed all major checkpoints that Lord Garius’s son would be traveling through their territory for a crucial mission.

Javier simply nodded politely in return, maintaining his calm demeanor.

The guards saluted respectfully, allowing Javier and Buddy to smoothly pass through without any interruption.

Buddy moved forward confidently, leaving the checkpoint behind.

The road stretched out in front of them.

Long, clear, and bathed in warm, late-afternoon sunlight.

Javier narrowed his eyes slightly, planning ahead.

He needed to reach the next town before nightfall. A short rest would help before dealing with the scattered miasma monsters along the way, even as he steadily moved toward his true mission.

Buddy squawked again lightly, sensing Javier’s determined mood.

The journey ahead was serious.

But Javier knew clearly what he had to do.

With a firm grip, he continued forward.

Inside Javier’s mind, thoughts swirled quietly.

“I don’t know what will happen later. And this is my first time venturing this far. Even the Beastkin Kingdom was rarely visited. And now… I have to go there.”

His gaze hardened slightly.

“The Dwarven Kingdom…”

He let out a small breath, steadying himself.

“I hope Liana and Gloria finish their training soon… and stay safe.”

A small smile appear in his lips.

Looking up at the sky, painted in deep orange as the sun dipped toward the horizon.

Javier tightened his grip on the reins.

Buddy dashed forward at full speed, his powerful legs kicking up dust behind him.

Javier narrowed his eyes, focusing ahead.

The road stretched on endlessly.

Unknown dangers waited beyond the horizon.

Javier chuckled lightly, patting Buddy’s sturdy neck.

“Let’s go, Buddy. Full speed. Until we reach the next town.”

Cuquawked!

Buddy answered proudly, pushing himself even faster, the wind howling louder around them.

Javier leaned slightly forward, lowering his body to cut through the air more smoothly.

The sun dipped lower.

The road ahead grew darker.

The border town was still far ahead, just a thin shadow against the darkening horizon.

The sky above deepened into twilight, the colors bleeding into shades of deep purple and cold blue.

Javier smirked slightly, reaching into his magic storage.

From within, he drew one of his proud creations. The new White Ore mana gun, gleaming faintly even under the dark.

With a smooth motion, he channeled his mana into the weapon.

A low hum responded immediately, pure energy gathering at the gun’s core.

Just then..

Dark shapes started emerging ahead.

Shambling, oozing with black mist.

Corrupted beasts.

Miasma monsters.

Twisted by dark mana, their movements were unnatural, their bodies bloated and deformed.

Without hesitation, he pulled the trigger.

BOOM!!!

A deafening explosion tore through the field.

A massive blast of pure mana light engulfed the front lines of the monsters, vaporizing several in an instant.

Even Javier was taken slightly off guard.

“Wha…?!”

The blast radius was massive.

“Crap. This gun’s output is way too high… Too risky to use it near civilians.”

Without wasting a second, he smoothly slipped the powerful White Ore gun back into his magic storage.

In its place, he pulled out another gun.He reloaded smoothly, snapping the gun into ready position.

“Buddy,” Javier said calmly, adjusting his posture in the saddle,

“slow down a bit. We’re going to shoot while moving.”

Cuquawked!!

Buddy squawked excitedly, slowing into a steady, swift trot.

Javier grinned sharply.

He raised the gun and opened fire.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Precise mana bullets tore through the air, striking the miasma monsters cleanly between the eyes.

Each shot was perfect.

Each monster fell without even a chance to roar.

The road ahead began to clear, but darker, bigger shadows started stirring deeper within the forest nearby.

More were coming.

But Javier grin only widened.

“Come on, you bastards,” he muttered.

“This is just a warm-up.”

Buddy flapped his wings harder, ready to dance between enemies while Javier fired steadily from Buddy’s back, shooting while moving at high speed.
