Ascension Online: My Beasts Evolve infinitely

Evening had settled over the game world by the time Kael made it back to the village. He wound through the familiar streets to Widow Hargrove’s door and knocked.

”It’s me. Open up.”

The bolt clicked back almost immediately. She hauled him inside before he’d finished stepping through, eyes bright with an excitement she wasn’t bothering to hide.

”You have it?”

”Right here.”

He drew the iron strongbox from his pack. The second it cleared his hand, she snatched it up like something precious, turning it over in the low candlelight, running her fingers along every seam and edge.

Whatever she was checking for, she found it. She looked up, expression settling into something almost solemn.

”Come with me.”

She led him into the back room without another word.

For a village widow’s cottage, the space had been arranged with more care than Kael expected a square wooden table sat at the center, its surface carved edge to edge with looping, unfamiliar runework arranged into the rough shape of a ritual circle.

The four boss heads he’d handed over earlier sat positioned at the table’s four corners, each one radiating a faint, uneasy pressure.

A family duty, generations deep, Kael thought, watching her set the box down at the table’s center with something close to reverence.

Whatever bloodline she carried had apparently spent a hundred years guarding this exact moment.

He didn’t ask. Some things weren’t his to know, and it didn’t change what he’d come here for.

She closed her eyes and began to murmur, low and fast, the words blurring together into something that wasn’t quite a language.

The runes lit red, one by one, chasing each other around the table’s edge.

The strongbox trembled where it sat, its carved surface rippling like something underneath had just taken a breath.

Then the lid split down the middle and folded open.A ring rose out of the box on its own, drifting in the still air, throwing off enough light that Kael had to narrow his eyes against it.

His pulse spiked. He didn’t wait reached out and closed his hand around it before it had fully stopped moving.

”Quest Complete: The Widow’s Treasure. Reward received [Ring of Infinite Fortune].”

He opened his palm and studied it properly.

The metal didn’t match anything he could name not silver, not gold, not any alloy the game had shown him before.

Nine runes ringed its surface, each one glowing a different color, the whole thing shifting through a slow, hypnotic gradient every time the light caught it differently.

[RING OF INFINITE FORTUNE]

Grade: Mythic

Effect I Grants 100,000 storage slots. Contents are never lost on death (barring items explicitly flagged to drop).

Effect II 90% chance to evade any attack that would otherwise be lethal.

Effect III The wearer walks under the favor of fate itself. All chances of triggering a lucky outcome are dramatically increased.

A relic said to have been forged from the raw principle of fortune itself. Those who wear it don’t get lucky. They get chosen.

Level Requirement: None

Does not occupy an equipment slot. Cannot be lost on death.

Kael stared at the readout for a long moment, and a slow grin spread across his face.

It’s real. It’s actually real.

This wasn’t just some rare mythic drop. In his last life, this exact ring had built legends.

Players who’d never touched top-tier competitive skill had ridden this thing into the global top ten on luck alone chest openings that never whiffed, drop tables that always rolled high, bosses that coughed up their best loot like it owed them money.

The storage effect alone was worth chasing an entire warehouse he could carry anywhere, immune to death penalties. The near-guaranteed dodge on lethal hits turned ”one bad fight” from a real threat into a statistical footnote.

But the third effect was the one that mattered.

Ascension ran on a hidden luck stat under the hood quietly shaping crit chances, dodge rolls, drop rates, every random outcome the game ever rolled behind the scenes.

Most players never thought about it because there was nothing to think about; it sat wherever the dice put it and stayed there.

This ring didn’t nudge that number. It broke the ceiling off it entirely.

Chests that guaranteed gold instead of gambling for it. Kills that guaranteed drops instead of hoping.

Bosses that started coughing up gear well above their tier, purely because the universe had stopped rolling against him.

He slid it onto his finger, and something settled into place not a stat number changing on a screen, just a quiet certainty that the odds had just shifted permanently in his favor.

Nothing left tying him to this village now.

Level 10. Class advancement done. A Silver-tier companion at his side and a Mythic-grade ring on his hand.

Time to move.

Ascension’s world map split the server across two empires and seven kingdoms, bound together under the Dawn Alliance a fragile coalition holding the line against the Scourge Legion pressing in from the north.

Level 10 unlocked the teleportation circle back at the village, and from there, every player got one choice: pick a kingdom, pick a capital, and build their base of operations from the ground up.

Seven capitals sat on the map. Saltmere. Westfall. Sunspire. Windhollow. Whitecrown. Duskspire.

And Frostwatch the northernmost of them all, sitting directly in the Scourge Legion’s shadow, carrying more main-quest content than any other city on the continent by a wide margin.

Kael had chosen it once before, in a life that no longer counted for anything except what it had taught him. He knew every street of that city like the back of his own hand.

No reason to choose differently now.

He stepped onto the teleportation circle without a flicker of hesitation. Light swallowed him whole.

A heartbeat later, the world reassembled and Kael found himself standing somewhere entirely new.
