My SSS-Rank Innate skill: Infinite Adaptation core

Ding—

[New Ability Acquired: Lightning Reinforcement.]

[The host can now channel lightning through the body and weapons to greatly enhance speed, impact, and offensive power.]

[Congratulations.]

[You have acquired Basic Lightning Resistance.]

[Acquired: Lightning Resistance.]

[Rank: B]

”Oh...”

Nova stared at the system messages as a strange sensation spread through his body. It felt as though an enormous amount of knowledge regarding lightning had suddenly been poured directly into his mind.

For the first time, using lightning no longer felt rough or unstable, It felt natural.

Instinctive.

As if the element itself had begun responding to his will.

”HAHAHAHA—!”

Nova burst into manic laughter as newfound power surged through his body. Brilliant arcs of lightning flickered violently around him before coating both of his swords.

At the same time, his body shot forward like a raging storm.

The Elite Wolfangs couldn’t even keep their eyes on him anymore. Every second, his figure blurred across the battlefield like a streak of lightning tearing through the darkness.

And wherever he passed—

blood exploded.

Bodies split apart.

Heads rolled across the ground.

Nova continued butchering the beasts mercilessly while his crazed laughter echoed throughout the entire dungeon like the laughter of a demon.

Finally, after tearing apart three giant wolf beasts far stronger than the previous ones, several notifications suddenly appeared before Nova’s eyes.

====================

”Haaa...”

Nova breathed heavily while staring at the notifications floating before him. Even with his current strength, the slaughter on the third floor had continued for Four entire days without stopping.

The sheer number of beasts had been overwhelming.

Thousands upon thousands of Elite Wolfangs kept charging at him endlessly. During the battle, he had received countless injuries and narrowly escaped death multiple times despite all his abilities.

Fortunately, his swords had survived this time.

By coating them with lightning, he had reinforced the blades enough to withstand the brutal clashes against the giant beasts. Though the same couldn’t be said for his clothes.

At this point, he barely had anything left covering his upper body, while even his pants had become ragged and torn after days of continuous fighting.

One thing Nova had clearly noticed was that his growth speed was slowing down significantly.

The higher his level became, the harder it was to level up further. Even after slaughtering thousands of these monsters, the increase in strength no longer felt as explosive as it had during the first floor.

Still—that felt normal.

If his growth continued at the same absurd speed forever, then it truly would be something completely beyond the laws of the world itself.

At that point—even the heavens would probably strike him down.

”Haaa...”

Nova sighed heavily as he finally sat down. His entire body was painted dark red with blood, the scent of slaughter clinging to him so strongly that even the surrounding air reeked of death.

His body had also undergone significant changes during the endless battles. His physique was gradually becoming more refined and powerful, every muscle sharpened through constant combat and adaptation.

”Huff... finally. That battle was tougher than the previous ones,” Nova muttered while catching his breath. ”I even had to use a few healing and mana recovery potions, though honestly they barely help anymore.”

He let out another tired sigh before wrinkling his nose slightly at the strong metallic smell coming from his own body.

”But it’s a good thing the demonic blood and flesh just disappear inside my stomach because of Mutation. I already feel like I’m slowly losing my humanity little by little...”

A faint laugh escaped his lips.

”Otherwise, imagine if I died while shitting in some corner after eating all that cursed meat.”

Recently, with no one left to talk to for days, Nova had begun speaking to himself far more often. Maybe it was his way of holding onto the last fragments of his sanity.

Or perhaps—

losing his sanity was the reason behind it.

Still, it didn’t feel particularly strange to him. Even in his previous life, he had rarely spoken to anyone.

After a brief silence, Nova calmly shifted his gaze toward the floating status panel before him to check how much progress he had made.

===================

There were several other changes in his profile as well. A few of his skills had leveled up again, and his inventory had expanded even further with new collections of weapons and items alongside the countless beast corpses he had gathered.

At this point, he had accumulated more than five hundred corpses each of Lesser Wolfangs, Hunter Wolfangs, and Elite Wolfangs.

”The Elite Wolfangs dropped far more weapons compared to the previous monsters,” Nova muttered while scrolling through the inventory section. ”And the last three Hunter Wolfangs even dropped two decent weapons... a longsword and a spear.”

Both weapons looked extremely sturdy and durable compared to the ordinary equipment he had been using until now.

Still, Nova’s expression slowly turned serious. I wonder how strong the boss will be...

The final waves of Elite Wolfangs had already surpassed his level by a noticeable margin, and his instincts continuously warned him that the upcoming fight wouldn’t be easy at all.

Although the first beasts entering each floor had initially been weaker than him, their strength continuously increased with every incoming wave. That pattern alone gave him a rough idea of what awaited him now.

The boss—

would be on an entirely different level.

At the same time, Nova also understood something important.

He had only managed to reach this point because he didn’t break during the beginning of the dungeon. Those first few days had been the most crucial part of his growth.

If he had given up back then he and Rieka would have died long ago.

”And it’s already been almost ten days...” Nova muttered quietly. His eyes drifted toward the dark dungeon ceiling.

’I wonder how much time has passed outside...What if the time difference isn’t that large? How am I supposed to explain all this to my parents?’

Then another thought crossed his mind.

’And Rieka...Did she leave already?A faint bitter smile appeared on his face. Maybe she did. We were just strangers after all.’

”Haha...” Nova let out a quiet sigh.

Nova cleared away the unnecessary thoughts crowding his mind before a wide smile slowly appeared on his face as he gazed at the countless weapons scattered throughout the large blood-soaked dungeon.

”I’ve accumulated quite a lot of stat points...” he muttered while looking at his status window. ”Whichever attribute I invest them into will receive a massive boost.”

For now, however, he decided not to use them recklessly.

”In the future, if I face opponents stronger than me, I can distribute the points depending on their abilities. That would greatly increase my chances of winning.”

The more Nova thought about it, the more useful saved stat points seemed in dangerous situations. As he continued staring at his status window with nothing else to do while waiting for the final floor, his eyes suddenly stopped at one particular section.

Evolution Points.

A thought instantly crossed his mind.

”System... how exactly am I supposed to use these Evolution Points?”

[Host can utilize Evolution Points in multiple ways.]

[Possible functions include: Skill Evolution, Stat Point Conversion, Resistance Evolution, Equipment Evolution, and Bloodline Evolution.]

”What...?!”

Nova’s eyes widened in complete shock.

”What!!... really?” Nova was stunned after hearing all the information the system had just revealed to him. Evolving bloodlines... wasn’t that some god-level shit?

That sounded completely absurd.

[Yes, Host.]

[However, the host currently possesses insufficient Evolution Points to access most advanced functions.]

[Additionally, the system itself has not yet completed its First Upgrade.]

Nova instantly became even more interested.

”Upgrade?”

[Correct.]

[Additional functions and higher-level evolution options will become available after the system completes its First Upgrade.]

[This includes advanced skill evolution, bloodline modification, equipment enhancement, and several other undisclosed features.]

Nova’s heartbeat quickened slightly after hearing that.

”Soon... when exactly?”

[Unable to provide an exact timeframe.]

[The upgrade process may begin today, tomorrow, or

within several days.]

”So what changes will I be able to see?” Nova asked curiously.

[I do not possess that information yet, Host. You will only know once I am upgraded, and at that point you will be able to utilize my functions far more effectively.]

Thanks for reading....
