Nova carefully read through every piece of information, his eyes moving steadily across the panel as he absorbed it all.

”So I got a C-rank skill. It’s basically a movement technique.”

[Yes, Host.]

”System, why is my class slot empty?” Nova asked as he focused on it curiously.

[Host can acquire any class they desire. It mainly depends on the path the host chooses to focus on , but i would suggest you wait for the right one and I’ll tell you about it more when the right time comes.]

Nova nodded slightly, then his gaze shifted toward the stats.

”And I got twenty stat points that means four each?”

[No, Host.]

[It is five points for each attribute except Luck. Luck cannot be increased through stat points. It increases rarely either naturally or as a reward from quests and defeating beasts.]

”I see...”

Nova thought for a moment. Then ”add five to each stat.” The system responded immediately.

+5 Strength

+5 Agility

+5 Stamina

+5 Intelligence

A sudden change surged through his body.

His muscles tightened, becoming denser and more defined. His body felt lighter, yet stronger at the same time. A subtle warmth spread through his veins, and his senses sharpened slightly.

He clenched his fists. The difference was clear. He wasn’t overwhelmingly powerful yet. But compared to before he had definitely grown stronger.

Now that he had awakened, Nova understood the path he needed to take to become stronger. But before anything else, there were a few things he had to do.

From the memories he had inherited, he realized that the original Nova had spent his entire life in Coldrock. His knowledge about the outside world was extremely limited.

In a way, that made sense. He had always been weak, and his family didn’t want to risk taking him outside. As beautiful as this world seemed, it was just as dangerous. Because of that, Nova knew his first priority was gaining information.

He needed to visit places like libraries and learn about the world, its structure, and its power system.

At the same time, he also needed strength. To grow stronger, he would have to register as an adventurer in a guild and start exploring dungeons. That was the most common path people followed to level up in this world.

As he was lost in thought, a voice called out from downstairs, ”Nova come down. Lunch is ready.”

”Coming, Mom,” he replied before heading down. He had lunch with his mother, and after finishing, he helped her with small tasks around the house.

From what she told him, the Grand Estate of Duke Frost was not far from their village. It would take around two hours by carriage to reach the main city.

Coldrock was located near the border of that city, which was why his father would be returning home by night around seven.

Time passed quietly, and before long, evening turned into night. As expected, his father returned, freshened up, and soon the entire family gathered together at the dining table for dinner.

Edward broke the silence as he spoke, a faint smile resting on his face. ”So, son now that you’ve awakened, what do you want to do next?”

There was a hint of curiosity in his eyes. He couldn’t quite explain it, but his once timid son seemed different now more composed, more confident.

Nova answered without hesitation.”I’ve decided to register myself as an adventurer in the guild.”

Edward watched him for a second then nodded slowly, thinking for a moment before replying.

”Hmmm... if that’s what you’ve chosen, then follow it. But there’s no guild in this village. You’ll have to go to Frostholme. That’s where you’ll find one, and it’s quite influential in this region because of its affiliation with the Frost family.”

Nova listened carefully and then asked,

”Is that the same city where the Duke lives? The one you went to today? And does it have a library?”

Edward gave a small nod.

”Yes, it’s the same city. And yes, there’s a library there. It’s quite large not as big as the ones in the capital, but more than enough.”

Jenna smiled gently as she looked at Nova. ”Oh? A sudden interest in the library? Do you want to learn about swordsmanship?”

Nova paused briefly before replying, ”Ah... yeah. Something like that.”

Edward let out a small chuckle.

”If you’re interested in swords, you can always come to me. I’ll teach you the basics. As a Knight Captain, I know enough to guide you.”

He leaned back slightly and added,

”And you share the same element as me. That makes it even better.”

Edward didn’t push him further. He never intended to. His son’s path was his own to choose. But even he could see it now something had changed.

There was a quiet determination in Nova eyes. A will to become strong.

”I’ll consider it, Dad,” Nova said politely, his tone calm and respectful.

”Good,” Edward replied with a satisfied smile, clearly pleased with his answer.

Nova’s heart felt warm in that moment. In his previous life, he had never seen or felt this kind of familial love. It was something distant to him, something he had only imagined but never experienced.

But now he had it. A loving mother, a dependable father, and a place he could truly call home. His wish had finally come true.

And because of that, he understood something clearly. This was something worth protecting, no matter what it took. And to protect it, he would need to become stronger.

After having dinner, Nova returned to his room. He lay down on his bed and closed his eyes, but instead of sleep, a certain figure appeared in his mind.

Asia.

He had never seen someone that beautiful before.

In his previous life, he never had the time to think about romance. Seventeen years of survival had left him with no room for such thoughts. His life had been too harsh, too demanding.

But now things were different. He had a second chance. And this time, he wouldn’t ignore that part of life.

Still, he understood the gap between them. She had awakened an S-rank . Her future was destined to be extraordinary, but he didn’t feel inferior. Not anymore because He had something no one else did.

A cheat, With that, he slowly drifted into sleep. Morning arrived quietly, and Nova woke up early. After getting ready, he prepared to leave for Frostholme.

His father had a day off today and would be staying home with his mother. Being a Knight Captain was exhausting, and he rarely got time to rest.

Jenna stood by the door, looking at him with concern. ”Take care of yourself, honey and don’t talk to strangers.”

It was his first time leaving on his own, and she couldn’t hide her worry. She stepped forward and gave him a warm hug.

Her expression was gentle but filled with concern.

”Don’t worry, Jenna,” Edward said, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. ”Our son is grown now. He knows how to take care of himself.”

Nova smiled lightly. ”Yes, Father. And don’t worry, Mom... I’ll be back before dinner.” With that he stepped out of the house , And began his journey.

Nova reached the village gate, where a few carriages were already lined up. From what his father had told him, merchants frequently traveled between villages and cities to sell their goods, so finding a ride to Frostholme wasn’t difficult.

Before leaving, his father had given him two hundred copper coins to cover his expenses. In this world, currency was divided into four types one hundred copper coins equaled one silver, one hundred silver equaled one gold, and one hundred gold equaled one platinum coin.

Nova walked up to a carriage that was about to depart. It was loaded with goods, and the owner was a bald, middle aged man who was preparing to leave.

”Brother, how much to Frostholme?” Nova asked.

”Ten copper,” the man replied casually. Nova nodded and handed over the coins without hesitation. It wasn’t much, and he had enough to spare.

Soon, the carriage began to move. Nova sat comfortably, his gaze drifting outside as he took in the scenery. Lush green forests stretched across the land between the village and the city, the view calm and refreshing.

Though such areas could be dangerous with bandits or beasts lurking within the region had already been cleared and secured by the army of Duke Theodore Frost, ensuring safe passage for travelers.

Time passed quickly. After nearly two hours of travel, the scenery began to change. The endless greenery slowly gave way to buildings.

As the carriage entered the city, Nova’s eyes widened slightly as he took in the view before him. The architecture alone was enough to leave him stunned tall stone buildings lined both sides of the streets, their designs intricate and refined, far beyond anything he had seen in Coldrock.

The streets were alive.

Carriages moved back and forth, wheels rattling against the stone roads, while people filled every corner merchants, adventurers, nobles, and commoners alike. Vendors stood along the sides, loudly advertising their goods.

Some sold fresh fruits and vegetables, their colors vibrant under the sunlight, while others displayed weapons, armor, and trinkets that gleamed faintly.

The air carried a mixture of scents spices, cooked food, leather, and metal. It felt overwhelming , lively.

Completely different from the quiet, simple life of the village. The carriage came to a stop near the edge of a busy street.

The old man glanced at Nova and asked casually, ”First time here, kid?”

Nova snapped out of his daze and quickly composed himself. ’He probably thinks I’m some country bumpkin .’

”Yeah... it is,” he replied calmly.

”I see ” the old man said, watching him for a moment before adding, ”Be careful, kid. As beautiful as this place looks... it can be just as dangerous.”

Nova nodded slightly.

Then suddenly a loud voice shattered the moment.

”WAIT, YOU LITTLE BASTARD!”
