Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1857: Chapter 1118: Enlightenment, 10 Years

”I will consider this matter carefully, but avoiding the world is impossible. Once I choose to avoid the world, the growth momentum of the Yang family will be interrupted! Unless there is no other choice, the Yang family absolutely must not avoid the world!” Yang Zhenshan said.

Zhongli Xiayi pondered for a moment and nodded slightly, ”If that’s the case, just bring the Yang family to stay in Wanbao Immortal City! Although there might be some trouble in Wanbao Immortal City next, it should not be dangerous.”

Yang Zhenshan nodded slightly, ”That sounds good.”

Of course, he wouldn’t stay in Wanbao Immortal City indefinitely, but he couldn’t refuse Zhongli Xiayi’s kindness, so he agreed.

For a period afterward, Zhongli Xiayi often came to chat with Yang Zhenshan, sometimes exchanging cultivation insights, sometimes discussing changes in the situation in Wanhua Domain, and sometimes talking about the complex relationships between the various major forces.

Through chatting with Zhongli Xiayi, Yang Zhenshan gained a deeper understanding of the various forces in Wanhua Domain and had a clearer view of the entire Wanhua Domain’s situation.

Currently, the situation in Wanhua Domain is chaotic; the Western Regions are chaotic, the Southern Domain is chaotic, the Northern Domain is chaotic, even the Eastern Domain is uneasy, and even the Central Domain is starting to stir.

According to Zhongli Xiayi, the Heavenly Constitution Road is secretly stirring things up, intending to provoke a war among the various forces, wanting the war to become larger and fiercer.

But the major forces aren’t foolish; in the absence of the Heavenly Constitution Road personally entering the fray, the major forces temporarily have no intention of starting a full-scale conflict.

Of course, some small-scale conflicts are inevitable. Previously, Zhongli Xiayi mentioned that Wanbao Immortal City would soon be less peaceful because the Ten Thousand Treasures Sect and the Heavenly Mechanism Pavilion had some disagreements, leading to several small-scale conflicts.

These small conflicts temporarily do not affect the overall situation, but this also indicates that the Central Domain is no longer stable.

Actually, all the major forces are waiting for the Heavenly Constitution Road to make a move; especially the four major forces in the Central Domain, their target for elimination is none other than the Heavenly Constitution Road.

At this time, the Heavenly Constitution Road is undoubtedly the overlord of Wanhua Domain; only by eliminating the Heavenly Constitution Road can the four major forces of the Central Domain have a chance to take its place.

They are all waiting for a moment.

The moment when the Heavenly Canon Daoist Master falls.

Only when the Heavenly Canon Daoist Master falls will they rise together against it.

Despite the ongoing wars in the four domains, the four major forces in the Central Domain have not yet gone all out.

The Hengshan Sect is no exception; they have only deployed two Golden Core Cultivators to participate in the war in the Southern Domain.

The Unpredictable Ghost Sect, despite having fought many battles with the Wanhua Demon Court, has only used the strength of two halls.

They are all waiting for the reaction from the Heavenly Constitution Road.

However, all of this has little to do with Yang Zhenshan at the moment.

After Zhongli Xiayi entered seclusion again, Yang Zhenshan also returned to White Jade City and went into seclusion.

In the quiet room of the Longevity Hall.

Yang Zhenshan took out a bamboo staff, stood it upright before him, and slowly felt the powerful vitality emanating from the bamboo staff, comprehending the Dao rhyme from the core of the bamboo staff.

This bamboo staff’s core should be some sort of Void Spiritual Object, its embedded Dao intent being Vitality Dao Intent, not simply the Path of Growth of Wood Attribute, but rather the Life and Death Dao.

This actually fits very well with the Path of Life and Death; it can even be said that the two are closely linked.

”Mastery of vitality, the Life and Death Dao?”

”Life could be born, extraordinary life; death could cease, extraordinary death. ?The Dao births one, one births yin and yang, yin and yang transform life and death.”

”Life isn’t truly existing, death isn’t truly nonexistent, like the alternation of day and night, like the life and death of plants. In prosperity, do not boast; in withering, do not grieve; this is the constancy of life and death.”

”View life as a guest, entrust form to heaven and earth; perceive death as a return, revert to the Dao core. ?Life comes with desire, desire breeds attachment; death comes with fear, fear breeds delusion. ?To cling to life is like adding logs to a fire, logs consumed and fire extinguished; ?to fear death is like rowing against the current, with the boat overturned and man perishing. ?Observe the annual withering of plants, and understand that life and death are not the end nor beginning but rather a cycle.”

Yang Zhenshan seemingly had a realization, quickly immersing his mind in the profound Dao intent.

He sat in the quiet room with crossed legs, his aura constantly shifting, at times emanating a powerful vitality, at other times becoming lifeless, and occasionally the Life and Death Tai Chi Diagram would manifest behind him.

The changes in aura followed his insights, and for some reason, this time he completely immersed himself in the Dao intent of life, death, and life and death, with his understanding growing deeper and increasingly engrossed as time passed.

”Accommodate life without attachment, accept death without rejection, this is called harmony with Dao. ?During life, cultivate the heart, as nurturing orchid and planting fungus, maintain one’s true essence without being lost; ?during death, relinquish form, like abandoning the boat to ascend the shore, return to the source without panic. ?Not seeking eternal life, seek no life and no death; not avoiding extinction, avoid attachment without enlightenment. ?The Dao lies between life and death, not outside life and death.”

”True self, the source!”

”Only I, the true essence?”

Yang Zhenshan felt confused, as if his mind was suddenly filled with an overwhelming amount of information, rendering him momentarily unable to process.

His brain seemed to stall briefly, unable to deal with so much information in a short time.

But soon his mind started working again, insights constantly swirling within, and the Dao rhyme on him grew increasingly intense.

”Alive yet not possessing, dead yet not perishing, this is called the ultimate being. ?Life follows depletion, death follows rest, rest transforms to life, depletion resumes rest. ?Forget life without worry, forget death without fear, with worry and fear gone, the Dao becomes apparent. ?Like water flowing without lingering in the creek, like clouds moving without lingering in the sky, ?forgetting both life and death, roaming with the Dao, this is called immortality.”
