Dragon Monarch System

”That is why destroying a cultivation sect is much harder than simply attacking its headquarters. It is an entire system. It has cities generating wealth, recruitment systems creating new talent, military forces protecting its territory, and powerful cultivators overseeing everything from above.” Aditya did not want to destroy everything that came under their Territory.

His goal was to destroy the core of the cultivation Sect. Even if the system remained without the core, that system would soon crumble and fall apart. The vacuum of power will have the survivors fighting among themselves for the top spots.

Aditya remained silent for a few moments before continuing. ”There is another side to cultivation sects that most ordinary people never see. To the public, cultivation sects present themselves as organisations that nurture talent, protect humanity, and guide cultivators toward greater heights. That part is true. They do teach cultivation. They do produce powerful experts. They do protect their territories from threats.”

”But that is only one side of the story.”

”My grandfather told me many things about cultivation sects. The Night Rider Sect is one of the worst examples.” This was the other side of the story that people often did not see.

Once a cultivation sect became powerful enough, it inevitably began behaving like a kingdom or an empire. The difference was that kingdoms answered to laws, traditions, noble families, and political consequences, while cultivation sects answered only to strength.

As long as their experts remained powerful enough, very few people dared to challenge their actions. Over the centuries, the Night Rider Sect had developed a notorious reputation for interfering in weaker nations. Whenever a kingdom, dynasty, or empire from the Six Continents discovered a valuable resource, an ancient inheritance, a rare bloodline, or an exceptionally talented genius, the sect’s attention was often drawn toward that region.

At first, they rarely resorted to force. Representatives would arrive offering protection, cooperation, trade agreements, or recruitment opportunities. To outsiders, these offers appeared generous.

However, refusing them often brought consequences. Entire kingdoms had suddenly fallen into civil wars. Noble families that had remained loyal for generations unexpectedly turned against their rulers. Border conflicts emerged without warning, assassinations increased, and trade routes became unsafe.

On the surface, these events appeared unrelated, but many believed that powerful cultivation sects were manipulating them from behind the scenes. Rather than invading directly, they preferred weakening nations from within by supporting rival factions, funding rebellions, empowering ambitious nobles, and creating divisions within royal families until resistance became impossible.

The Great Starry Sky Empirewas one such example. Its collapse had not happened overnight. For years, the Night Rider Sect had been extending its influence throughout the region, seeking its resources, strategic location, and ancient inheritances.

The sect benefited enormously from the Empire’s downfall while millions of ordinary people suffered. To powerful cultivation sects, the deaths of countless civilians often meant little when compared to the value of a rare inheritance, a spirit stone mine, or a talented cultivator.

The Night Rider Sect was also infamous for its methods of recruiting talent. Officially, every invitation was voluntary. Unofficially, many geniuses were given little choice. Those who joined became valuable assets. Those who refused often found their lives becoming increasingly difficult. Some spent years under surveillance, while others mysteriously disappeared. After all, an uncontrolled genius represented a future threat.

The cities under the sect’s control were no different. Although they appeared independent, enormous amounts of resources flowed from them to the sect every year. Spirit stones, rare herbs, metals, monster materials, taxes, weapons, and talented recruits all found their way into the sect’s treasury. The cities did the work, while the sect claimed the largest share of the rewards.

This was why Malakor Harrington distrusted many cultivation sects. They presented themselves as organizations that stood above worldly affairs while actively controlling vast territories.

”After Sophia’s death, the Night Rider Sect currently have five 7th-order powerhouses left. Each of them holds the position of an Elder.”

”Once Victor officially becomes the New Sect Leader, then there will be 4 elders left. But by tradition, each of the elders has been a 7th-order powerhouse.” All the current Elders are first-generation Elders. Sophia herself was an Elder, but after the founder’s Death, she rose to become the New Leader.

”So it will be interesting to see if, during the Ceremony, Victor promotes any of the old Core students into the position of an Elder, but this would break one of the traditions of the Sect.”

Strength was respected everywhere in the cultivation world. However, within a cultivation sect, this principle was taken to an entirely different level.

In a kingdom or an empire, a person’s status could be influenced by their family background, noble title, wealth, political connections, or achievements. However, within a cultivation sect, personal strength ultimately outweighed everything else. No matter how talented a disciple was or how prestigious their position might be, they would never command the same level of respect as a true powerhouse.

For example, even if a Peak 6th-order Core Disciple was promoted to a higher position within the sect, that person still would not receive the same treatment as a newly promoted 7th-order cultivator. The moment a cultivator stepped into the 7th-order realm and became an Elder, their status would immediately rise to a completely different level.

Regardless of age, seniority, or background, everyone would treat them with far greater respect because they had crossed a threshold that countless cultivators could only dream of reaching.

Regardless of what Aditya knew about the Night Rider Sect, Athena, as the Empress, knew more than he did. She had access to more information through her networks than he or the Harrington Faction could.

Destroying the entire Night Rider Sect and its territories was an impossible task to achieve in such a short time with their number. Not to mention, the numerous allies that the Sect had that will come rushing in the moment the Sect is attacked.

The best form of revenge would be to target the core of the sect itself, which was the Elders and the Sect Leader. They were the pillars that held the entire organisation together. As long as those powerful figures remained alive, the Night Rider Sect could continue functioning no matter how many cities, troops, or resources it lost.

However, once the core disappeared, a massive power vacuum would emerge. Ambitious core disciples and influential factions would begin competing for authority and resources. Internal conflicts would erupt, trust would collapse, and the unity that kept the sect strong would gradually fall apart. Without its strongest experts to maintain order and command respect, the entire structure would begin crumbling from within until it eventually collapsed under its own weight.

Scene Change_____

With the girls staying by his side, Aditya mostly focused on his work. Even with injured arms, he was working with runes. In this decisive battle, runes will play a vital role. Despite feeling pain in every stroke, he silently endured everything and continued to push himself without taking breaks.

Hours after hours, he sat in front of the wooden table and worked on runes. He worked on making new runes. He focused on making rune formations that would do the most damage to the Night Rider Sect.

For hours, Aditya remained completely focused on his task. He did not let the girls distract him from his goal and ambition. He remained so focused that in his head, there was nothing but the thoughts of runes. Even in that small room, no matter how much the girls spoke to each other or what they did, he remained completely absorbed in his own world of working with runes.

After many hours, Kael was the first one to return with a piece of very interesting news.

”The Wind Dragon Clan?”

”I heard about them a few years back.” Athena stepped forward to explain.

”They are a group of Dragon Clan that lives further north of the tall mountains.” Tall mountains that seemed to touch the heavens, that was north of Bluestar City, were the main area of the Night Rider Sect. Those mountains were their holy ground. But further beyond those tall mountains was a city built by the Wind Dragon Clan.

Meanwhile, Kael looked at the girls and wondered about their identities. From the way they interacted with their Lord, it was obvious that they had a special relationship. ’Whatever their identities are, it’s not my plan to ask questions.’

”How did you complete your task so quickly?” It had only been 18 hours since Aditya sent his subordinates to various nearby cities.

”My Lord, the City governed by the Wind Dragon Clan hardly has anything to offer. The City is almost barren. There aren’t even any walls surrounding the city. The Security of the City is so weak that if we wanted, we could take over the whole city within 10 minutes of coordinated attacks.”

Hearing this, Aditya fell into deep thought.

”Aditya, perphaps, this could be an opportunity.” Athena suddenly smiled at Aditya.
