Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 991: Chapter 991:- Bone Sphere

3rd Morning since the Construction of the Temple of Dragons,

”Sir, the Temple of Dragons is seeing exponential visitors every single day.” From the day this 50-meter-tall beautiful Pagoda was made, or more like summoned out of thin air by His Majesty, The Grand Emperor, within hours, it had drawn thousands upon thousands of people.

By the next morning, Duke Kane had to send more guards to organise the ever-growing crowd and prevent any accidental mishaps. His Majesty had trusted the security of this sacred ground to him. Duke Kane did not want to disappoint Aditya.

If he did, then he wouldn’t be able to look at the Emperor’s eyes.

To Duke Kane, this was a test that he could not fail. As a result, by the evening of the second day of the Temple’s construction, the number of guards responsible for maintaining order and security had reached 600.

”But Sire, isn’t it a bit too much?” One of his men couldn’t help but ask. Sending 600 guards just to protect the Temple of Dragons felt like overkill. Not to mention, these 600 guards were active troops who patrolled the city. Now their absence was clearly being felt. The void that their absence left behind had to be filled by others.

”It’s not like the situation is not manageable.” Duke Kane understood what he was doing.

”Thats...!!” His right-hand man did not know how to explain.

Almost 10,000 troops guarded the whole Capital of this Province. At first, this number might look big on paper, but this matter was more complicated. The 10,000 troops not only guarded the capital but also the small villages located around the Capital. There were at least 15 villages around the Capital that the Duke sent his troops to protect.

Each village needed at least 25 troops led by a 4th-order cultivator. Troops also had to be stationed in various watchtowers throughout the Capital. Not to mention that not all 10,000 troops worked at the same time. They worked in shifts, day and night.

So even the loss of 600 troops was clearly felt a lot.

”If that’s the case, then it’s time to ask my vassals to send some reinforcements.”

”I will make sure that your command reaches their ears within 30 minutes.”

Duke Kane smiled as he watched his right-hand man run out of the room.

’He was stressed for nothing.’

He then looked out of the window and thought of himself. ’This is just the initial excitement and curiosity of the Istarin Empire’s citizens. Once that curiosity dies down, the number of daily visitors will significantly go down.’

’But I suspect this flow of visitors will not decrease at least for the next two-three weeks.’

”But still, since the Construction of the Temple of Dragons, I feel like my cultivation speed have drastically increased.” Even other Dragonians and Half Dragons in his territory reported experiencing this.

50% boost in cultivation speed was not a small thing. It was a huge margin.

With the 50% boost, Dragons who already possessed a naturally faster cultivation speed compared to other races became even more terrifying in their growth. For many cultivators, such a boost alone would be enough to turn an ordinary talent into a true prodigy.

”Daddy!!!” Hearing the voice from outside the door, Duke Kane left everything on the table and immediately rushed to the door. Who cares about stupid, boring work when he could play and pamper his daughter as much as he wants?

Work can be completed later, but this time with his daughter won’t ever come back. As she continues growing older, she will become busier with other things.

Kane kneeled down and hugged his daughter.

”My beautiful Princess, I missed you so much.”

”Is it ready?” Aditya and Nathan were in a dark chamber that was located outside of the Azure City. The exact location was one of the mountain ranges in the north of the Azure city, where the Shadow Guardian had built a secret prison.

The criminals who are not worthy of continuing to live for heinous crimes, such as R**p, were sent here.

The newly joined Shadow Guardian members learned many different kinds of torture methods and used them on these criminals without needing to fear for their lives. Once a prisoner was completely broken, that person would be either publicly stoned to death or experience a slow, painful death in this place.

Not even any of his women knew about this place. Only the members of the Shadow Guardian, Spencer, and Watson knew about the existence of this secret prison, also known as the Mountain

Torture Chamber.”Our new recruits played with 5 criminals a little too much. They are mentally broken now. And the other four are recently caught.”

Aditya looked at the nine humans tied to chairs. All of them were unconscious.

He did not want to do this to innocent people. Only the ones who deserved nothing but death as punishment were here to be sacrificed.

”Good! But don’t let them enjoy this too much.” If the Shadow Guardian, newly recruited or the old members, started enjoying the process of torturing people a bit too much, then this would be a big problem.

Because once torture stopped being a tool and started becoming a source of enjoyment, the entire purpose of the organisation would begin to rot from the inside.

The Shadow Guardians existed to protect the Empire, gather information, and remove threats before they could grow. Torture, when used, was meant to extract information quickly and efficiently. It was never meant to become entertainment.

If members began treating it like a hobby, then discipline would slowly disappear. They would begin torturing prisoners longer than necessary. Some might even start harming people who were not truly guilty, simply because they wanted to satisfy their own twisted curiosity. False confessions could easily be forced from innocent people if the interrogator only cared about causing pain rather than finding the truth.

Over time, fear of the Shadow Guardians would no longer come from respect for the law, but from terror of their cruelty. And once the citizens of the Empire began fearing the protectors more than the criminals, the entire system would collapse.

Even worse, such behaviour would slowly turn the Shadow Guardians themselves into monsters.

If cruelty became normal, then loyalty to the Empire would slowly fade. Personal desires would replace duty. And an organisation that powerful, once corrupted, could become far more dangerous than any enemy outside the Empire.

Aditya understood this really well and did not want his men to go down the same path.

’I have seen this happen so many times in my past life.’ Those people were the true parasites of society.

”Be cruel when it’s necessary. But there was no need to be cruel when the same result could be achieved without being cruel.” Nathan seriously nodded his head.

Aditya took out a bone tablet. With a blade, he began ending each of the criminal’s lifes. Each time he took their life, he made sure to drop a few drops of their blood onto the bone tablet.

And each time, he did, the bone tablet would glow brightly for a second.

When repeated the process for the 9th time, the Bone tablet suddenly began to morph. It transformed into a bone sphere with a very ancient, high-level of runes engraved on the surface of the sphere. Aditya, who was almost a half 5-star runemaster, could not understand anything.

『Bone Tablet』

『Rank Mid 6-star』

『Description - The mysterious ancient runes contain the coordinates required to open a portal to the Pocket Dimension. To activate the portal, Mana must be channelled into the Bone Sphere.』

’It’s time to contact Athena.’ Since the construction of the Temple of Dragons, Aditya was silently preparing to go to this Pocket Dimension.

Since the Bone Tablet came from one of the core members of the Organisation, there was even a possibility that this Pocket Dimension was a base of the Organisation. He might even meet other core members of the Organisation or even the Leader if he were lucky. This is why he took three days to sit down and make preparations for this trip.

Yes, with the system, he can make another minor breakthrough, but this was not his preferred option. Not even 4 weeks back, he reached Beginner 5th-order. Now, making another minor breakthrough would make people suspicious.

Scene Change_____

Inside the Pocket Dimension,

The Goblin Society,

Aditya and Athena appeared on top of a small mountain that was surrounded by green forest. Far into the distance, they could see a large castle.

”That must be our destination.” Athena nodded.

”But first, we must take care of our visitors.”

”Well, technically, we are the visitors here, but whatever.”

Athena looked at the Goblins that had surrounded them from all directions. There were even a few fifth-order goblins.

”Now this is interesting!” Since he killed millions of Goblins in the Goblin Invasion, he had not seen a goblin since then.
