Reborn into the 70: Turning Adversity into Her Dazzling Path

Chapter 1469: Chapter 1470: Craving That Taste

Why did they have to watch eagerly?

Because every time she came here, she wanted to have the lamb offal soup, but Sister-in-law felt it was expensive and was afraid she’d get carsick and throw up on the way back in the afternoon, so she couldn’t bring herself to eat it.

Without anyone to accompany her, she had to follow Sister-in-law and others to eat elsewhere.

But this place’s lamb offal soup was really, really, really delicious.

She had it once and couldn’t forget it for a whole year.

This time, thanks to Gu Lingling taking the lead, everyone was generous for once, “Let’s treat it as a reward for all the hard work this year, alright?”

Mo Hongying said pitifully.

“Alright.” Gu Lingling didn’t mind, “In this cold weather, having some hot lamb offal soup is nice too.”

“Well…” Sister-in-law hesitated a bit, but in the end, persuaded by Mo Hongying, she nodded in agreement.

Zhang Lanfang naturally had no objections either.

Who would have thought, on the way to have lamb offal soup, they encountered Liu Xiaoqin and Liu Qiao Lian having a meal—not lamb offal soup, of course, but wontons next to the lamb offal soup place.

“Oh, these wontons are really tasty.” Seeing them approach, Liu Qiao Lian said proudly, “I’ve never had such good wontons before, thank you, Sister Qin.”

Liu Xiaoqin smiled, “You helped me with so much, treating you to a meal is the least I could do.”

Then the two involuntarily glanced at Gu Lingling and the others, and Liu Qiao Lian said, “Oh dear, Sister-in-law, are you going to have that thirty-cent porridge again?”

Sister-in-law was talking to Gu Lingling and the others, but her face froze at those words.

Indeed, every time she came because she was reluctant to spend a few bucks, and also afraid of getting carsick and throwing up, she’d only have a thirty-cent porridge.

And the place was not far from the wonton stall.

But in past years, Liu Qiao Lian would also go have it.

This year, with Liu Xiaoqin treating, she wouldn’t be foolish enough to have that kind of porridge you can see the bottom of.

Sister-in-law smiled and said nothing, and the others ignored Liu Qiao Lian, the four of them bypassed the wonton stall and went straight to the next-door lamb offal soup shop.

What a quick turnaround!

Especially since there were other known military wives at the wonton stall.

“Pfft… so what, get carsick and throw it all up.” Liu Qiao Lian pouted.

“Alright, say no more.” As soon as Liu Xiaoqin heard her mention carsick and throw up, she remembered how she spent almost the whole way getting sick when she came earlier.

The other military wives didn’t look too good either.

Obviously, like Liu Xiaoqin, they were recalling that not-so-pleasant travel experience.

Liu Qiao Lian felt a bit wronged.

Why was she putting so much effort into teasing Gu Lingling and them?

Wasn’t it to please Liu Xiaoqin?

Yet here she was being scorned.

But on account of Liu Xiaoqin treating her to wontons, Liu Qiao Lian let it go.

If only she could treat her to that lamb offal soup, which was said to be especially delicious, but you could only have it during the market days.

Thinking about this, Liu Qiao Lian felt Liu Xiaoqin was a bit stingy.

She just treated her to one-fifty wontons, while lamb offal soup was just three dollars.

But then again, Liu Xiaoqin wasn’t a fool; three dollars? When she came for the market, she only spent thirty cents on a bowl of porridge.

Having wontons was already a luxury.

“Oh, it’s so delicious.” Then she heard Mo Hongying’s voice, “It’s simply too tasty.”

Damn woman.

Liu Qiao Lian felt a twinge of pain in her ankle.

She was definitely doing it on purpose.

Just like now, knowing she was craving it too.
