Reborn into the 70: Turning Adversity into Her Dazzling Path

Chapter 399: Chapter 399: Personal Revenge in the Name of Public Duty?

Gu Lingling naturally did not know that after they left, such a peculiar scene occurred at the factory gate.

Ma Chuang was directly surrounded and beaten up by a few girls, and it was Secretary Zheng who happened to be passing by on his way home who rescued him and sent him to the hospital.

By that time, Ma Chuang was already beaten black and blue, his whole body injured. Never mind the previous pain from his dislocated arm and jaw; now there wasn’t a place on his body that didn’t hurt.

”Brother Peng, you must avenge me,” was the first thing Ma Chuang said after his jaw was set, ”I only confessed to that bitch because I listened to you.”

”My words? What words?” Zheng Peng sneered, ”All I said was that Gu Lingling was quite pretty and would suit you well.”

”You...” But the subtext of your words was nothing but encouraging him to chase Gu Lingling, then play with her and her feelings.

”Don’t worry, you’re my good brother, and bullying my brother means bullying me,” Zheng Peng said, ”You just focus on recuperating; I’ll come to see you in a few days.”

However, days passed, and Zheng Peng did not appear again.

Ma Chuang waited in the hospital for several days, anticipating news of Zheng Peng avenging him, but instead, he received the news of being dismissed by the transformer factory.

”Director...did you say something wrong?” Still lying on the hospital bed, Ma Chuang was stunned upon hearing the news, ”Why are you dismissing me?”

”Your behavior has seriously affected the normal work of the factory, and the workers have strongly demanded your dismissal. Ma Chuang, you have really disappointed me,” said the director, who had watched Ma Chuang grow up, shaking his head.

”I told you before, but you wouldn’t listen. Now you’ve stirred public outrage, and if the factory doesn’t punish you, the workers will go on strike.”

Who can be blamed?

Blame it on Ma Chuang for being so reckless before.

Goodness, he didn’t even know he secretly dated so many people, and all just for fun.

Isn’t that courting disaster?

The chairman already said, a relationship that doesn’t aim for marriage is just playing rogue; how rogue were you playing?

The workers in the transformer factory are all connected, aren’t they?

How can they stand their daughters being wronged?

This isn’t just about Gu Lingling, it’s about all the girls in the transformer factory. Who would’ve thought, when they started asking, they’d be shocked to learn that Ma Chuang, with his decent looks and knack for charming girls, dated so many people.

No wonder as soon as something happened, so many workers signed a petition to have him dismissed.

”I...I didn’t do anything,” Ma Chuang was left dumbfounded, ”I don’t care, you can’t just dismiss me like that.”

”You...take care of yourself,” the director shook his head, placing the dismissal notice on the table beside Ma Chuang, ”In the future...restrain yourself.”

”I don’t want to, why should you dismiss me, this is just revenge,” Ma Chuang angrily tore the notice on the table into pieces.

The director said nothing more, just shook his head.

Revenge?

This was the first time since the establishment of the transformer factory that someone was dismissed, and it was the workers who collectively demanded the dismissal of one person.

It showed how unpopular Ma Chuang was usually.

Of course, all this is hindsight.

Gu Lingling was pulled out of the factory by Yang Yunhai and even pushed into a car by him.

Even before Hao Lianlian and Zhao Jingmiao could react, before she could even say goodbye, the car sped away.

”That person...who is he?” Gu Chunmei weakly asked as she followed them out.
