Reborn into the 70: Turning Adversity into Her Dazzling Path

”Don’t rush, take your time,” Gu Lingling said from the side. ”When I first started learning how to cut vegetables, I wasn’t as good as you. I cut my hands several times.”

After all, mastering the skill of cutting vegetables is not something that can be achieved overnight.

When Yang Yunhai heard her say this, he instinctively glanced at her hands.

”Once you learn it, you won’t get hurt anymore,” Gu Lingling instinctively hid her hands. ”They’re all healed now.”

But inside, she was startled, accidentally letting slip about learning to cut vegetables in her past life. At that time, she’d just arrived at the Overseas Chinese Hotel, and the head chef had strict requirements for cutting. Although she knew how to cut, it was only basic.

What the chef demanded was to treat it as an art form.

Back then, in order to start working, she practiced day and night until she met the chef’s standards. But as a result, her hands were cut many times, with the most severe being a deep scar on her ring finger.

Because of her efforts, she later gained recognition from the head chef at the Overseas Chinese Hotel. He even taught her some dishes, which, although he didn’t take her as an apprentice, was a great honor for Gu Lingling.

If she hadn’t gotten pregnant later, she would have probably gone much further at the Overseas Chinese Hotel.

She might have even become a Chinese cuisine chef.

Somehow, remembering her past life brought a self-mocking smile to Gu Lingling’s face.

She didn’t notice the flicker of confusion and curiosity that passed through Yang Yunhai’s eyes.

Looking at the radish strips on the plate like a piece of art, Gu Lingling really wanted to ask, ”Commander Yang, is there anything you can’t do?”

After only a few days of teaching, his vegetable cuts were better than hers, and the lines looked like they were measured with a ruler.

Goodness, could this get any more discouraging?

Gu Lingling felt utterly defeated.

”Uh... didn’t you say that nicely cut vegetables make people more appetizing?” The culprit himself looked clueless, puzzling over Gu Lingling’s silence.

Apparently not understanding her expression.

Well, Gu Lingling felt bullied. You can’t compete with someone at genius level.

This is what perfectionists are like.

”Good, very good, excellent,” Gu Lingling didn’t even know how to describe her feelings at this moment.

She had just remembered things from her past life and felt a bit proud of her culinary skills, yet she hadn’t expected to be completely outclassed in an instant.

Feeling so gloomy.

”Is there anything else you need me to do? Leave it all to me,” Yang Yunhai naturally noticed the little girl’s gloomy appearance and couldn’t help but feel amused; she looked so cute with her pout.

Well, at least she wouldn’t look at him with that scared expression like before.

Yang Yunhai’s lips curled up slightly. He decided to keep the momentum going and cut the rest of the cabbage too, as pickled cabbage is also quite delicious.

”These, and these,” Gu Lingling pointed at the vegetables in the kitchen, ”Does Brother Yang want to cut them all?”

”Of course,” Yang Yunhai said with a laugh. ”Why don’t you take a break, and bring the chef in to finish up later?”

Isn’t that the level of a master chef?

After all, chopping vegetables is something the helpers do.

Gu Lingling didn’t expect Yang Yunhai to be able to joke around.

She walked out, blushing.

This man, is there anything he can’t do? Apparently not?

Uh... except for having babies!
