I Build a Top-tier Fishing Destination

Chapter 194: Chapter 177: Five-Star Recommendation

”Who is this guy?”

Chen Jun came out of the office, his curiosity piqued by the influencer walking around the entire pond with a phone in his hand.

”A fishing influencer. He likes to film fishing videos. He’s an angler, sure, but his main focus is promotion.”

Chen Yuan casually handed a cigarette to Chen Jun.

”You hired him for promotion?”

Chen Jun asked, taking the cigarette.

”You could say that.”

Chen Yuan nodded. Although he’d made a bet with the influencer to check the upgrade requirements for his reputation value, it was, at its core, a form of promotion.

”The fishing ground is doing so well, you don’t need to spend money on advertising, do you?”

Business at the fishing ground was booming. Every session was fully booked, and anglers were fighting over spots. Demand far outpaced supply, so there was really no need to spend money on advertising.

A complete waste of money.

”Payment is based on results. If the results are bad, I don’t pay.”

While Chen Yuan and Chen Jun were chatting, the fishing influencer circled the pond. He was stunned again when he saw the building over by the smaller pond.

His camera focused on the sign above, which bore the fishing ground’s name and logo.

”Boss Chen, what’s this for?”

The influencer aimed his phone at Chen Yuan.

”It’s a place to provide some convenience for the anglers. There are restrooms and a lounge inside. Later on, I plan to make the office area the headquarters for the Fishing Association.”

’Whoa, a Fishing Association, too. Professional!’

The influencer didn’t say anything more. After looking around the small pond, he went with Chen Yuan to the Old Pond. On the way, they ran into Chen Dequan and Chen Guo heading in their direction.

They were getting ready to leave.

”Whoa, the giant fish pond is packed too~”

When the influencer arrived, he found the scene even more impressive than at the small pond. There was even a fish truck parked nearby, but why were some anglers putting their fish into it?

’Are they buying fish right on site?’

He then noticed the construction near the Old Pond. Chen Yuan elaborated on this part, giving him an early promotion for the Hot Spring Paradise and the children’s amusement park.

The influencer wandered around the pond, but Chen Yuan didn’t follow. He stayed behind to chat with Zhang Hui and the others for a bit. Seeing it was about time, Zhang Hui’s group left first.

Soon it was time for the session changeover, and Chen Yuan was even less available to entertain the influencer.

”From what I’ve seen so far, the fishing conditions at Chen Yuan Fishing Ground are pretty decent. The facilities are excellent, and there are other recreational activities available. You could definitely bring your family here for a day out. My cumulative recommendation index is four stars.”

After finishing his tour, the influencer switched the camera to face himself and started talking to the viewers in his livestream.

”I don’t know if the pond has been artificially stocked for my visit, but I doubt it. After all, there are nearly two hundred spots across both ponds, and the night-session anglers come in right after. The cost of faking it would be too high.”

”Haha, I’m not a shill. When I, Mr. Xie, investigate a fishing ground, I’m always objective. If it’s good, I say it’s good. If it’s bad, I say it’s bad. I’m straight with everyone.”

”Besides, scouting the fishing conditions is secondary to why I’m at Chen Yuan Fishing Ground today. The main event is a competitive fishing match I’ve arranged. I’ll be competing against a fellow angler.”

Being doubted was normal in this line of work.

People accused him of being a shill for the owner, paid to promote the fishing ground. And while that was indeed part of his goal, he knew that to stay in this business for the long haul, he had to maintain his credibility.

That’s why he would never promote a terrible fishing ground or substandard bait and tackle.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t still be managing dozens of angler groups; those anglers would have stopped trusting him long ago.

”As expected, it’s packed again.”

He chatted with his livestream viewers for a long time. The hustle and bustle at the fishing ground eventually died down as the night-session anglers took over the spots.

”Boss Chen, where’s my spot?”

Seeing Chen Yuan ride over on his three-wheeled cart, the influencer got ready to take his position.

”It’s up ahead. I’ll take you there.”

Chen Yuan motioned for him to get on the cart, and they drove to the fishing spot.

The influencer hadn’t made a reservation; Chen Yuan had reserved this spot for him in advance. After all, as the owner and a system host, setting aside one spot was no problem at all.

”The angler to your right is your opponent for the match.”

Chen Yuan said as he arrived, gesturing to the side.

Wang Heng was sitting at the spot. He had managed to snag a spot for tonight’s session, so Chen Yuan arranged for him to compete against the influencer. He trusted Wang Heng’s skill, but he trusted the bait and tackle produced by the system even more.

Even if he couldn’t use the remote control during the event, victory was in the bag.

”No problem.”

The influencer first set up his tripod, placing it a little behind him on his left. It was angled toward himself and Wang Heng, so the livestream could see both of them and the water’s surface.

The entire competition would be crystal clear.

Once he was ready, he nodded to Wang Heng and then started mixing his bait.

”Same as always, guys. I’ll start with a bag of Frenzied Angler. Since this is a competition, I’m adding extra feeding stimulant and Magic Fish Lure. I’ll use a little less water, and once it’s loosely mixed, I’ll knead it a few more times.”

The influencer explained to the camera as he mixed his bait.

He was thoroughly prepared.

In addition to the feeding stimulant, he added three or four kinds of ”magic water” additives to max out his groundbait’s luring effect. After all, if he won this match, the future benefits would be substantial.

He had deliberately come early to check out the ponds, wanting to see for himself if they were as packed with customers as Boss Chen had claimed.

As it turned out, he saw that the day session was full, and the night session was too.

With the two ponds hosting over three hundred anglers a day and going through hundreds of bags of bait, the profits were unimaginable.

Chen Yuan watched from the side for a moment, making sure to glance at the number of viewers on the stream. Then, he quietly summoned the system and opened the reputation value upgrade screen.

But the red progress bar hadn’t changed.

’Do I have to wait for the stream to end?’

Chen Yuan muttered to himself.

He didn’t dwell on it. He’d have his answer after the livestream ended. After saying a quick word to Chen Nan and the others, Chen Yuan rode his three-wheeled cart home.

There was another dinner for the wedding banquet that evening. Xu Juan was still there helping out, and his aunt would be going too. They were short-staffed at home, so it was important that he get back to help.
