Chapter 164: Chapter 158: Still an Arena Challenge, Watch My Grand Opening Event

”A fish?”

Chen Yuan furrowed his brow, a guess already forming in his mind.

Sure enough.

The messages in the group chat continued.

”HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! It’s a Fish King! The Fishing King Arena actually got a Fish King too! And it’s 102 pounds, even bigger than the one in Boss Chen’s pond.”

The shocking message was followed by a video.

Chen Yuan clicked on it. The first thing he saw was Du Luming. Behind him was a fish transport truck. The side panel of the truck bed was lowered, revealing a tank made of fiberglass. Inside, a massive Daqing swam back and forth like a behemoth.

It was a stunning visual.

Next, a staff member weighed the fish. The number ”102 pounds” was clearly displayed on camera. Finally, Du Luming announced the fish-stocking event.

”Whoa, the buyback reward is 1200? He’s trying to one-up Boss Chen.”

The fishermen in the group chat erupted in a heated discussion.

A 102-pound Daqing was just a little heavier than the one in Boss Chen’s pond. While it might not seem like a big difference, being two pounds heavier just felt different.

And the buyback reward was exactly two hundred more than Boss Chen’s. This was clearly a direct challenge.

Someone in the group tagged Chen Yuan.

”Boss Chen, the Fishing King Arena is throwing down the gauntlet. How are you going to respond?”

To be honest, in terms of the ponds alone, the Fishing King Arena’s giant Daqing pond was far superior to the small pond at Chen Yuan Fishing Ground. The only advantage the latter had was its hundred-pound Fish King.

Now that the Fishing King Arena had gotten a bigger one and deliberately raised the buyback reward by two hundred, a simple comparison of the ponds left the small pond with no advantage whatsoever.

Of course, considering the whole package, the fishermen would definitely still choose Chen Yuan Fishing Ground. After all, from service to amenities to his grand gestures, Chen Yuan Fishing Ground was the clear winner.

But the Fishing King Arena would definitely steal a good chunk of his business.

’This Du Luming has some skills, actually managing to get his hands on a Daqing over a hundred pounds.’

After reading the messages, Chen Yuan had to admit he was a little impressed by Du Luming.

’Without the system, if I had to find a hundred-pound Daqing myself... it wouldn’t be impossible, but with my connections, it would be infinitely harder than it was for Du Luming.’

’Too bad for you. You had to run into the me of today.’

”A mere 102 pounds. At my fishing ground, not just any Little Kalami can be called a Fish King.”

Chen Yuan stubbed out his cigarette and typed a message into the group chat.

The group chat went silent for a moment, then instantly exploded.

”HOLY SHIT, Boss Chen is being arrogant, isn’t he? Calling a 102-pound Daqing a Little Kalami?”

”Has Boss Chen gotten a big head?”

”I admit Boss Chen is a bold guy—he either does nothing or goes all out—but that’s still way too arrogant.”

”Knowing Boss Chen, he’s not the type to make empty boasts. If he dares to say it, he must have something to back it up. I’m looking forward to his next move.”

”Don’t forget, Boss Chen’s was the first fishing ground to get a hundred-pound Daqing. You think he doesn’t have the connections to get an even bigger one? I’m excited too.”

”Looking forward to it +1.”

”+1~”

Although Chen Yuan’s words were arrogant, the customers who had dealt with him knew what kind of person he was. He might joke around, but he never made empty boasts.

If he dared to call a 102-pound Daqing a Little Kalami, he definitely had the confidence to back it up.

’A hundred pounds? It’s not like I’ve never gotten one before.’

”In one hour, I’ll release the announcement for the Old Pond’s grand opening event. I’ll show you all what a real monster pond looks like~”

Chen Yuan didn’t explain further. He was confident that once the grand opening event was announced, he would crush the competition.

’The Fishing King Arena? Du Luming? They want to challenge me?’

’Just watch how my grand opening event completely demolishes them.’

”HOLY SHIT, looks like Boss Chen was actually prepared for this.”

”From the sound of it, he’s got something big planned.”

”Looking forward to Boss Chen’s monster pond, looking forward to the Old Pond’s grand opening event~”

This last sentence spammed the chat, a uniform wave of anticipation.

Chen Yuan exited the group chat, opened the notes app on his phone, and started drafting the announcement for the grand opening. He had already finalized the details last night, so he didn’t hesitate for a second.

Meanwhile, Du Luming, who had been lurking in the Chong City Fishing Ground’s group chat for the better part of two weeks, started becoming active again, his messages tinged with a showy, gloating tone.
