I Build a Top-tier Fishing Destination

Chapter 132: Chapter 133: Boss Chen Has Gone Mad

Whether the fish are biting or not isn’t something the boss gets to decide — the catch results speak for themselves.

The boss goes all-in stocking the pond, anglers go all-in hauling fish out — the explosion of activity would be something else entirely. A genuine carnival, and one that would build Chen Yuan Fishing Ground a reputation for insane catch rates to boot.

After this event, Chen Yuan Fishing Ground would absolutely sweep across the entire Chong City Fishing Ground scene and ride a wave of growth like nothing before.

And once the Old Pond opened up — he didn’t even dare imagine it~

”If this event is a massive success, the Carnival can absolutely become a recurring thing — a signature trademark of Chen Yuan Fishing Ground, something that gives the brand a real identity~”

Chen Yuan could barely contain his excitement.

He felt like there weren’t even words to describe how insanely brilliant this event was.

Put it out there and it would absolutely obliterate the competition.

I go crazy stocking fish, you go crazy landing them. You get your fish, I get my points — the more you catch, the more points I rack up.

A total win-win~

As for whether it could actually be a win-win, whether the event could even pull off successfully — Chen Yuan wasn’t worried one bit. With the remote in hand, he could get every single fish in the pond biting, rods whipping up non-stop across the whole place~

”Use of the remote control is prohibited during the event~”

Right in the middle of his daydreaming, a system notification suddenly rang out in his head, and his smile froze on the spot.

Are you serious right now.

No remote control — then what the hell is even the point.

If they ran into skunked-out disasters like Heavy Chummer and his crew, it didn’t matter how packed the pond was — Chen Yuan had no guarantee he could get them landing fish. Honestly, just getting a bite would be a miracle.

”This event is tied to rewards. Using the remote control counts as cheating.”

What the hell.

You’re lecturing ME about cheating?

That remote cost me 25,000 points from YOU, and now you’re calling it cheating? So what — cheating against everyone else is fine, but cheating against you isn’t?

”The system has already provided fish stock and enhanced bait. Landing fish is not difficult. If the host wants higher rewards, figure it out yourself.”

With that, the system went dead silent and ignored everything Chen Yuan threw at it.

”I thought this was going to be easy money, just sit back and let it roll in. Who knew this damn system would pull something like this.”

Chen Yuan laughed bitterly.

Without the remote to get the whole pond feeding, there was no way to control the catch rate. If he wanted the top rewards, he’d have to actually find a way to make sure the anglers were landing fish.

But how do you guarantee that? It’s not like he could dive in and hand-hook every fish onto someone’s line.

”Looks like I need to stock a whole lot more fish.”

Originally, Chen Yuan had planned to release them in batches — around six thousand catties at a time, which was more than enough to give the anglers a great time. He had plenty of fish in his reward inventory anyway, so he could just restock after every couple of sessions.

But that plan wasn’t going to cut it anymore.

He had to max out the fish count.

”Need to get some enhanced bait too — gotta crank the attraction factor all the way up~”

Damn shame his points were all spent. No way to place an order right now. He’d have to dip into his own personal stash to cover things for now, then have Wang Tao rush a delivery once new points came in tomorrow.

”Still need one more layer of insurance~”

Chen Yuan thought it over, then picked up his phone and called Wang Heng. He needed skilled anglers on-site — whether they were casting for others or coaching from the sidelines, whatever it took to give every angler the best shot at landing a fish.

After all, with ten days of festivities, Heavy Chummer and his crew were sure to snag spots. He had to do everything possible to make sure even those perpetually skunked disasters could actually land something.

”Holy shit, Boss Chen, have you lost your mind~”

Wang Heng heard about the Carnival event — and that Chen Yuan wanted to pay them to come provide on-site guidance and fish for guests — and that the more skilled anglers the better. He straight-up said Boss Chen had gone insane.

But he agreed in the end. All four guys in their little circle would be there. Coordinating remotely wasn’t an issue, and when the fish weren’t biting they could just chime in with advice~

”Four pros might not be enough though — maybe I should bring Little Fish King on board too~”

Chen Yuan thought about it and decided to shoot him a message.

One-day carnival, no big deal. But ten whole days? It was hard to guarantee Wang Heng’s crew wouldn’t have something come up midway through. More people meant more backup.

For the sake of maxing out those rewards — he’d go all in~

Just like Wang Heng, Little Fish King thought Chen Yuan had lost his mind — but agreed anyway, even offering to refer more people if needed.

Chen Yuan thanked him but didn’t rush to take him up on it. Five was enough for now; he’d reach back out if things got thin later.

With those three layers of safety net locked in, Chen Yuan finally sat down to draft the stocking and event announcement. Sure enough, the moment it went out, the entire fishing ground group chat absolutely erupted.

”Holy shit, Boss Chen has lost it.”

”Two thousand grass carp, individual weight 5–6–7 catties, totaling twelve thousand catties — that’s absolutely insane.”

”I just have to ask — can a two-acre pond even hold that many fish? The water level’s gotta rise a ton. Don’t let it overflow.”

”Did you miss where Boss Chen noted these are wild-fed fish? If they’re genuinely wild-fed and you dump twelve thousand catties in there, the whole pond’s going to explode. You could easily clear half of them in a single session~”

”If this were any other fishing ground’s stocking announcement, I’d call them idiots and leave the group. But Boss Chen? Yeah, I trust him.”

”So jealous of everyone who snagged a spot for tomorrow~”

Anyone who saw the stocking announcement was losing their mind — Boss Chen had absolutely gone off the deep end to pull something like this.

It instantly stomped all over the Fisherman and Jiangyuan Fishing Ground’s stocking announcements and ground them into the dirt.

Twelve thousand catties — even if only half of them bit, that was still insane.

”Stop being jealous and read the rest — Boss Chen’s launching an Angler Carnival, ten straight days of non-stop stocking.”

”No way, I see it now — Angler Carnival, ten days, guaranteed no less than ten thousand catties in the pond every single session. This man is genuinely unhinged.”

”Am I hallucinating, or has Boss Chen actually lost his mind?”

The group chat straight-up exploded. People who hadn’t said a word in years were suddenly posting. Chen Yuan had dropped an absolute bomb.

Twelve thousand catties on opening day, and every session after that guaranteed no less than ten thousand catties — he was literally packing a two-acre pond to the brim.

You fish like crazy, I stock like crazy — ten days straight, and every fish is promised to be wild-fed and naturally conditioned~

What kind of operation was this?

Sure, ”wild-fed” might be a stretch, but if he was willing to say it out loud, the bite quality had to be solid. And worst case, ten thousand catties stuffing the pond meant that on a lucky cast, you might hook two fish at once.

At this pace, every session would be a full-pond blowout. Total fish stocked across the event would easily hit tens of thousands of catties — conservatively worth hundreds of thousands of yuan.

The scale of this was absolutely insane~

”Holy crap, Boss Chen has completely lost it — he even brought in five expert anglers to hold it down. You can ask them for tips, or just have a master fish for you directly~”

”Does Boss Chen have a personal vendetta against the fish? He’s doing everything in his power to make sure we take every last one, even going out of his way to bring in pros to look after us~”

”And it gets even wilder — during the Angler Carnival, any angler who lands a fish gets 20% off their session fee. The price isn’t going up — it’s actually going DOWN~”

”He’s gone. Boss Chen has completely lost the plot~”

The WeChat group was like a pot of boiling water — messages flooding in non-stop.

Anyone who read the group announcement was screaming that Boss Chen had gone insane. This wasn’t money laundering as a joke anymore — this was genuine, full-blown madness. No sane person would ever run things this way.

Angler Carnival~

This was a real, no-holds-barred carnival in every sense of the word.

The stocking announcements from the Fisherman and Jiangyuan Fishing Ground didn’t even register next to this — they were ground to dust before the first cast was even made.

”Whoa — and this is just the warm-up. The Old Pond’s opening is right around the corner~”

”Has Boss Chen actually got the Old Pond sorted out?”

”No wonder he’s doing a warm-up. Looks like Boss Chen’s got some serious ambition — wants the Old Pond to open to a full house right from day one.”

”Ambition? This goes way beyond ambition.”

”Angler Carnival — Boss Chen’s gone full crazy. Anyway, I’m hitting the sack early tonight. Tomorrow I’m not just landing fish — I’m going for a massive haul~”

”Been fishing for years and this is the first time I’ve had this gut feeling I’m actually going to crush it. I’m so pumped I can’t even sleep — checked my gear like five times already~”

”Scrambling for a spot starting tomorrow. Boss Chen’s Angler Carnival has my blood pumping — screw work, I’m not going in~”

Chen Yuan sat back with a cigarette hanging from his lips, watching the messages roll endlessly through the group chat, a grin spread wide across his face.

He’d expected the reaction, sure, but it still hit different seeing it happen. He didn’t post a single word in the group — he’d let the Carnival do all the talking.

”Better add my sister to the group first — let her soak up the vibe in here and see just how fired up things are back home~”

He stubbed out the cigarette, added his sister to the group, then gave her a call. It was already ten o’clock — she’d just gotten off work.

They ended up talking for over an hour.

He hung up, set his alarm, and went straight to sleep~
