I Build a Top-tier Fishing Destination

Chapter 104: Chapter 105: A Group of Enthusiastic and Adorable Anglers

SMACK~

Over ten kilometers from Chen Yuan Fishing Ground, at a place called Fisherman Fishing Ground, an angler was constantly swatting at mosquitoes and muttering to himself.

”Man, the mosquitoes at Fisherman are insane.”

”What do you expect, bro? Under the lights by the fish pond, of course there are going to be a ton of mosquitoes. It’s summer. There are mosquitoes everywhere. This is normal.”

A fellow angler next to him chimed in with a laugh.

”There are no mosquitoes at Chen Yuan Fishing Ground.”

This angler had been to Chen Yuan Fishing Ground before, and for night fishing, no less. The cool evening breeze, the absence of annoying mosquitoes, and the good bite rate—fishing there was just unbelievably comfortable.

’It’s a shame I couldn’t get a reservation, or else who would come here?’

”Chen Yuan Fishing Ground? Where’s that? But even if it were an indoor fishing spot, it’s impossible for there to be no mosquitoes.”

The angler next to him was clearly skeptical.

The mosquitoes by the pond were big and vicious, especially ferocious at night. Even lighting a mosquito coil didn’t help. No one could completely get rid of them.

”Bro, you really haven’t heard of Chen Yuan Fishing Ground?”

The angler was a little surprised.

”Should I? Is Chen Yuan Fishing Ground that famous?”

The other angler was equally surprised. ’It’s just a fishing ground, isn’t it? They’re acting like it’s some A-list celebrity that everyone is supposed to know.’

”No wonder you’re holed up at Fisherman. I thought you were like me and just couldn’t snag a spot at Chen Yuan Fishing Ground, but it turns out you don’t even know about it. To not know Chen Yuan Fishing Ground is to miss out on a fishing paradise~”

The angler shook his head as if pitying his fellow fisherman. He pulled out his phone, intending to show him the group announcements and messages in the Chen Yuan Fishing Ground chat.

But when he opened WeChat, he saw the announcement that the restroom was complete and would open for use tomorrow.

”Holy shit, the restroom at Chen Yuan Fishing Ground is finished?”

The angler’s eyes widened as he exclaimed, startling several other fishermen nearby.

”What’s the big deal? It’s just a restroom. Listening to this guy, it sounds like Chen Yuan Fishing Ground only just now got its restroom built. What’s there to brag about?”

Several of the regulars at Fisherman shook their heads.

”Dude, what do you mean, ’just a restroom’~”

An angler in the distance heard the exclamation, also pulled out his phone to check, and then, hearing the other fishermen’s doubts, ran straight over.

”The restroom at Chen Yuan Fishing Ground is nothing like the one here at Fisherman! This place just has a shack with no door, just a ragged cloth for a curtain. You have to hold the cloth shut when you’re inside, terrified a gust of wind will expose you to the world. And the smell... it’s indescribable. Now, take a look at Chen Yuan’s~”

The angler ran over and shoved his phone in the faces of the skeptical fishermen.

”Holy shit, that thing must be over a hundred square meters! And the ceiling is at least five meters high. Are you sure this is a restroom?”

All the skeptical anglers crowded around. Even though it was obscured by fences and black cloth, the sheer outline was shocking. Then they looked back at the shack here at Fisherman. ’It really makes you want to curse.’

There’s nothing like a side-by-side comparison to put things in perspective.

Most fishing grounds had terrible restrooms; some didn’t even have one at all. If you needed to take a leak, you had to find your own spot. And if you had an upset stomach, you were in for a world of pain.

If all fishing grounds were like that, the anglers could only grumble. But with the sudden appearance of such a shocking restroom, the contrast was immediately apparent.

”And this is just the exterior. Knowing Boss Chen’s style, the inside definitely won’t be shabby. All the anglers have extremely high expectations.”

The angler holding the phone looked smug, filled with a sense of pride for having been to Chen Yuan Fishing Ground.

”Let me show you guys just how badass Chen Yuan Fishing Ground is~”

The angler opened the group announcements.

No fee if you get skunked. A hundred-jin Fish King in the pond. A 1,000-yuan reward for catching it, with unlimited buybacks.

The angler who was swatting mosquitoes at the beginning started hyping up the service and amenities at Chen Yuan Fishing Ground.

They help carry your gear, escort you to and from the pond, and even pick you up and drop you off at the bus station. The food they provide is not only delicious but also affordable.

The equipment at the fishing ground was second to none. They provided free fishing rods and bait. The life jackets and sun umbrellas were high-tech; it even felt cool wearing a life jacket under one of their umbrellas.

Plus, the mosquito coils provided at Chen Yuan Fishing Ground were incredibly effective. There were no mosquitoes, even when you were night fishing.

They were praising it to high heaven.

To put it simply, a place like Fisherman Fishing Ground was a complete joke compared to Chen Yuan Fishing Ground.

”Aren’t you exaggerating? Is there really a fishing ground that good in Chong City?”

”Why do I get the feeling you guys are shills for Chen Yuan Fishing Ground?”

The surrounding anglers were getting suspicious.

It was one thing if you said it was a little better—all anglers would be happy to hear that. But for it to be *this* much better made you question if it was real, or if there was some kind of catch.

”What the fuck? We’re just talking about fishing~”

The angler hyping up Chen Yuan Fishing Ground was getting annoyed. ’Fucking hell, I’m telling you about a fishing paradise, and you’re over here accusing us of being shills? No good deed goes unpunished, huh?’

”The Fish King! Holy shit, another angler just caught the Fish King~”

Before the others could respond, the angler who’d been swatting mosquitoes suddenly cried out. He furiously scrolled through the messages, found the video of the Fish King being pulled from the water, and played it.

All the anglers were instantly stunned.

You could go to every fishing ground in Chong City and never see a hundred-jin fish. They never thought that Chen Yuan Fishing Ground wasn’t faking it—they actually had a Fish King that big.

Most importantly, someone had actually managed to catch it. And the reward was paid out without any hesitation—straight cash. The red bills were especially eye-catching in the dark of night.

All the sparsely scattered anglers at Fisherman were drawn over.

”Bro, add me as a friend. Pull me into the Chen Yuan Fishing Ground group.”

”Say no more. That Fish King alone is reason enough to go check it out.”

”I’m more interested in the services and amenities you guys mentioned. I’m going tomorrow to see how amazing it is and what kind of masterpiece they can make out of a restroom.”

After watching all the videos, the surrounding anglers excitedly grabbed the ones who had been to Chen Yuan Fishing Ground, all demanding to be added as friends and invited to the group.

”Go tomorrow? In your dreams! You have to fight for a spot at Chen Yuan Fishing Ground. I couldn’t even get one myself, otherwise who would come to a garbage dump like Fisherman?”

Anyone who had been to Chen Yuan Fishing Ground, after experiencing the one-two punch of its service, amenities, Fish King, and great fishing conditions, pretty much looked down on all other fishing grounds.

Only those with a massive fishing addiction would still go somewhere else to cast a line even after failing to get a spot. Everyone else would definitely focus on Chen Yuan Fishing Ground.

”Holy shit, you have to fight for a spot?”

The surrounding anglers were dumbfounded.

Looking around at the few scattered anglers at Fisherman and the vast empty spots, the whole thing felt a bit surreal.

”Chen Yuan Fishing Ground is pretty considerate, though. Reservations prioritize newcomers, so it should be really easy for you guys to get a spot if you want to go.”

The regulars had already figured out the reservation system’s pattern: newcomers were given far more priority than old-timers.

”Add me, let me in the group first~”

An angler pulled out a pack of cigarettes and started passing them around. The others followed suit, all pulling out their own smokes. It was a common custom—offering a cigarette before asking a favor—and a small matter like this could surely be settled with one.

This scene wasn’t just playing out at Fisherman Fishing Ground.

「At Xianlai Chuidiao Fishing Ground.」

”You guys don’t believe me, right? Come on, add me. If the restroom at Chen Yuan Fishing Ground tomorrow doesn’t blow your minds, I’ll cover a full session’s fishing fee for all of you. Pick any spot, any time you want~”

「At Dudu Jiangyue Fishing Ground.」

”I happened to snag a daytime spot at Chen Yuan Fishing Ground. If you’ve got the guts, come with me. I’ll show you what a real fishing paradise looks like~”

「Inside the Fishing King Arena, the best fishing ground in downtown Chong City.」

”I won’t even hype up Chen Yuan Fishing Ground. Tomorrow, I’ll livestream it for you all. If it’s not mind-blowing enough, I’ll pay for every single one of your night fishing fees tomorrow, I swear~”

Anyone who had been to Chen Yuan Fishing Ground knew all about its services and amenities. More importantly, they understood Boss Chen’s ambition. A structure over a hundred square meters, with ceilings soaring five meters high—how could it possibly be simple?

Besides, they had all heard it also contained a rest area and a dining area.

It would absolutely be stunning enough to crush the restroom of every other fishing ground in Chong City.

”Fucking hell, these clueless anglers actually dare to doubt the class of Chen Yuan Fishing Ground.”

”Boss Chen, you gotta come through for me! I bet the fishing fees of dozens of anglers that your new building will blow their minds~”

In the Chen Yuan Fishing Ground’s group chat, those anglers—physically at other grounds but with their hearts at Chen Yuan’s—started venting.

As Chen Yuan read these messages, his eyes shone particularly bright in the night.

’What an enthusiastic and lovable bunch of anglers,’ he thought. ’Even when they’re elsewhere, they don’t forget to promote Chen Yuan Fishing Ground.’

And right on cue, new members started flooding into the group.

’This calls for a red envelope bonus~’
