Reincarnated as a Lizard

Splash~!

Feeling the water beneath her feet as she looked towards the tunnel entrance that had been overwhelmed by the heavenly waterfall that had grown more than four times larger before it stopped growing any larger, Scaly slowly stepped out of the water and onto the path leading out of the crater.

Not wanting to be in contact with the water for too long, as she understood that doing so ran the risk of attracting the monsters that lurked inside the lake, something she had the opportunity to witness only a short time after the heavenly waterfall had stopped growing in size, as a mountain bouncing slime had somehow made it to the crater and ended up falling over the edge and into the crater lake below.

Even now, she could see the monster in question eagerly moving around the surface of the lake in the hope that another mountain bouncing slime would be falling into the water.

As for what that monster was... In simple terms, it could be described as a really large serpent. Far beyond anything she had ever seen before. Making even the lone drake she had seen in the past seem small in comparison.

[Heavenly Lake Serpent, lvl 52]

[Description: With a normal length of thirty meters and the possibility to grow more than a hundred meters long, the heavenly lake serpent is considered one of the most dangerous serpents in the world. Normally only found inside large bodies of water that are thousands of meters above the ground. Most often found inside mountain lakes located far above sea level. Rumored be a descendant of the legendary flood dragon.]

Although it seemed to also be related to dragons and should have dragon blood flowing through it, Scaly was in no way brave enough to face off against the serpent that should be a little over thirty meters in length.

Not just because she was undoubtedly not on the same level as the serpent, but also because she was still unsure if there were more serpents lurking around beneath the surface of the water.

After all, if she decided to stake it all and try to kill the heavenly lake serpent to obtain the dragon blood flowing through its body, only to find out that there was a dozen more of them lurking beneath the surface, she would really have no idea how to explain herself if she ended up in front of the weird winged humanoid that had assisted her in her reincarnation...

As she was a bit lost in her own thoughts observing the heavenly lake serpent circling around in the same location hoping for another monster to fall down in front of it, Scaly suddenly felt a familiar wet feeling beneath her feet as she realized that the water had already risen enough to reach the first step on the path leading out of the crater.

If she continued to stay around and wait, it wouldn’t be long before the water around the bit of land present in the crater became deep enough for a large monster like the heavenly lake serpent to freely travel without her noticing.

So, with that in mind, Scaly didn’t waste any more time looking to see if she could spot any other monsters and began her journey along the narrow path leading out of the crater. Soon enough, finding herself directly above the water without anything than the seemingly bottomless lake beneath her-

Splash! Splash! Splash!

[Heavenly Lake Serpent, lvl 45]

[Heavenly Lake Serpent, lvl 47]

And it was just at this moment that she discovered that there were indeed more of the heavenly lake serpents hidden beneath the surface of the water, as two of them popped their head out of the water to look directly at her with a gaze that could only be described as hunger.

Albeit a bit smaller than the first one she had seen, they were still massive, nonetheless. Making even Scaly feel a shiver run down her spine as she was essentially being viewed as food by them, but... At the same time, this also caused a certain degree of anger to start brewing inside her.

How dare these lowly serpents view her, a dragon, as mere food!?

Although there was nothing, she could do about it at the moment, Scaly didn’t forget these serpents and officially put them down on her list for future revenge together with the human town.

Of course, the heavenly lake serpents were considered a bit more important than the human town, as they should have dragon blood flowing through them according to their description. Meaning that they would be useful for her in increasing the purity of her dragon blood, something far more important than taking revenge on a bunch of humans that she had mostly forgotten since she reached the fourth floor of the dungeon.

The only real reminder of these humans being the terrifying fire knight human she had briefly witnessed scaring every single monster inside the mountain range.

Bang!

Splash~!

Just as she was thinking about her future revenge against the heavenly lake serpents below her while she continued following the path leading out of the crater, Scaly suddenly felt the rocks beneath her starting to shake, as part of the path behind her broke off and fell into the water below.

Wha-what was that!?

Shocked by this, Scaly quickly stabilized herself before looking around to figure out what had happened-

Bang!

Splash~

Th-The serpents are ramming the side of the crater to make me fall into the water!?

And that was when she witnessed how one of the heavenly lake serpents that had been looking up at her hungrily not too long ago slammed its massive body into the rocky walls of the crater below her, causing it to violently shake as part of the path she was walking on collapsed into the lake below.

The heavenly lake serpents were clearly not just going to let her peacefully escape from the crater and intended to force her into the water where they could reach her and in turn eat her!
