Chapter 2990: Chapter 1208: Cloud Peak (2)

Now their only option is to wait for the teleportation array to stabilize and open again, otherwise there is no other way...

It’s unclear how long the teleportation array traveled before it finally stopped with a crack and the door opened to the pitch-dark outside, seemingly night...

Dean Lin and the others led the way out of the teleportation array, and after Mo Jiuli and the others exited, Elder Han turned back: ”This teleportation array seems to be scrapped. It must have been sabotaged, which is why it stopped here!”

The group turned to look and indeed saw that the teleportation array’s door wasn’t closed.

It appeared unable to close, utterly dark with its internal light gone, looking like an abandoned teleportation array!

”What exactly happened? Could the academy be in trouble?” Dean Lin asked with a frown.

”Seems likely that the academy is in trouble; otherwise, the teleportation array wouldn’t be malfunctioning!” Elder Han glanced at the other elders and said.

”Dean, if they find another teleportation array and proceed to Cloud Upperworld or similar places, the consequences could be disastrous!” Elder Dan frowned and said to Dean Lin.

”Isn’t there only one teleportation array?” Mo Jiuli asked Dean Lin curiously.

”Indeed, there’s not just one teleportation array, there are two teleportation arrays from Cloud Peak to Cloud Upperworld, one visible and one hidden! The same applies to other Cloud Upperworld and Cloud Middle World! The visible teleportation array is well known, the only tool to travel from the Underworld upward, while the hidden teleportation array is for upper officials to rescue when crises occur in the Underworld, known by very few!” Dean Lin explained simply, as everyone here has pledged allegiance to Di Minghan, so no secrecy is needed.

”So, the separation between each tier in Cloud Peak is actually to prevent the strong from harming those in the Underworld!” Mo Jiuli contemplated and said.

”Precisely, Cloud Peak itself is a tiered interface, with different spiritual power densities in each tier, hence differing cultivation bases. Without restriction, powerful and malicious individuals might wreak havoc in the Underworld!” Dean Lin sighed lightly and said.

”Can we tell where we are now? Regardless of what happened, we should head back first and solve the problems as they arise!” Mo Jiuli glanced at the unfamiliar surroundings and said.

”With daylight tomorrow, we should be able to figure out where we are!” Dean Lin glanced at the pitch-dark surroundings and said.

”Then let’s rest here!” Mo Jiuli contemplated and said.

Everyone agreed and rested on the spot. The night passed quickly, and as daylight broke, Dean Lin and Elder Dan flew to midair to survey the surroundings and discern the location.

”Here is the back side of the academy, about a day’s journey from the academy!” Dean Lin looked at Mo Jiuli and said.

”Let’s return, then. For those of you not affiliated with the academy, follow the usual rules: do not betray us, do nothing to harm the academy, and be available when the academy faces difficulties or when needed. You can leave then. If you wish to stay with us at the academy, as long as Dean Lin approves, we have no objections!” Mo Jiuli glanced at the few old men outside the academy and said.
