Miracle Doctor Baby

Chapter 84: 84. Is it for Jiuqi?

...

Mo Chenfeng didn’t react for a moment upon hearing those words; he didn’t understand the meaning behind the Ancestor’s words. It was well known that ever since the news of Mo Jiuli’s death spread five years ago...

The Crown Prince has proposed more than once to dissolve the engagement. However, this engagement was arranged by the Empress Dowager in the past, and the Emperor did not dare to dissolve it at will. Besides, the Emperor never found a suitable candidate for the Princess Consort, so the marriage remained...

It wasn’t until a few years later that Mo Jiuqi grew closer to the Crown Prince, and the Emperor also favored bestowing a marriage between the Crown Prince and Jiuqi. This matter was welcomed by the General’s Mansion. Yet, after the Crown Prince sought the Emperor several times, the latter agreed and said that a marriage would be granted as long as the Empress Dowager agreed...

However, until today, Mo Chenfeng seemed to have forgotten about this matter. It had been nearly two years since the Emperor agreed to the Crown Prince’s request. No one knew whether the Empress Dowager didn’t agree to this or something else, but the position of the Princess Consort still belonged to Mo Jiuli...

Actually, what Mo Chenfeng didn’t know was that the Crown Prince and Mo Jiuqi had already secretly joined forces. Mo Jiuqi frequently urged the Crown Prince, but the Empress Dowager had closed her door to chant scriptures in the Ancestral Hall for two years without going out...

Moreover, before closing her door for the chanting, the Empress Dowager informed the Emperor that without her permission, no one was allowed to disturb her before she came out...

Therefore, even though the Emperor wanted to see the Empress Dowager several times because of the Princess Consort’s matter, he still got refused and never saw his own mother. As a result, this matter had been left on hold until now...

No matter how anxious the Crown Prince and Mo Jiuqi were, they had no way at all. Even the Emperor was helpless. They could only secretly unite...

There weren’t many people in the Mo family who knew about this matter. Thanks to Mo Jiuqi’s resourceful and careful mother, who always hid things well for her daughter. In the hearts of most people in the Mo family, Mo Jiuqi was a gifted, beautiful, kind-hearted young lady who was very favored...

”Replying to the Ancestor, Jiuli’s marriage cannot be dissolved yet because...” Mo Chenfeng came to his senses and briefly explained about the Empress Dowager’s situation.

”The Heaven Empress of Fengyun Country? I don’t care whether she’s the Empress Dowager or not--you must find a way to dissolve Miss Mo’s engagement! Handle this matter as soon as possible and don’t delay it for too long...” The Mo Family Ancestor said unhappily.

Whenever he heard about Miss Mo’s situation, he felt very upset. His Mo family’s legitimate granddaughter was being bullied to the point where she couldn’t even return home, which made him furious...

”Yes, Ancestor! Ancestor, why do you suddenly want to dissolve Jiuli’s engagement? Is it because of Jiuqi?” Mo Chenfeng hesitated for a while but still asked the question in his heart.

Hearing this, Mo Chenluo, who had been silent with his head lowered, raised his head. Like the four elders, he also wanted to know the answer. For some reason, he always found it hard to feel close to Mo Caiyun and her daughter...

Not only did he find it hard to be close to them, but he also felt a sense of aversion. Even the young Mo Caiyun, who came to the Mo family as a child, made him very unhappy. However, seeing that everyone seemed to like her and that she got on very well with his little sister, Cai Yi, he had always forced himself to soften his expression when facing Mo Caiyun for the sake of not upsetting his sister...

After his little sister disappeared, he could no longer pretend and rarely saw Mo Caiyun. As for her daughter, Mo Jiuqi, he had only seen her once when she was born not long ago...
