Chapter 1256: Chapter 543: Changing the Underworld’s Rules!! (Part 2)

”Once you forcefully intrude, the rules of the Underworld will suppress!”

With this thunderous shout, the terrifying power of the rules instantly enveloped the entire Underworld like an invisible net.

Every dark corner, every deep path of the Netherworld River was filled with this force.

At this moment, in the depths of the Underworld, the Immortals and Gods permanently stationed by the Heavenly Court gathered in one place. In front of them were various strange Magical Artifacts, emitting a faint light that illuminated numerous translucent yin souls around them.

Their sharp eyes were focused, and their hands moved incessantly as they carefully selected high-quality yin souls, intending to bring them back to the Heavenly Court for refining into Heavenly Soldiers.

Not far away, Bhikkhu Arhats dispatched by the Buddhist Sect were in another area, clad in kasaya and chanting, attempting to guide souls to the West Land.

But with Zhao Feng setting the rules...

The instant the rules of the Earth Dao descended, a sudden change erupted!

”What’s happening?”

An Immortal Official of the Heavenly Court, who was holding a jade token firmly in his hand, saw it suddenly shatter without any warning, turning into countless specks of dust that scattered in the air.

He widened his eyes in terror, staring at his own hands, only to find they began to gradually blur, as if they were about to vanish in this Underworld: ”I feel like the Underworld is rejecting me!”

”This is bad!”

A Buddhist Arhat’s Buddha Light flickered violently, like a candle in the wind, about to extinguish at any moment.

His body retreated uncontrollably, his face full of fear and unwillingness: ”I’m being forced out of the Underworld...”

These Immortal Gods and Buddhas stationed in the Underworld had no time to mount any effective resistance before being struck by an invisible yet supremely powerful force.

They were all swept up by this force, flying toward the exit of the Underworld.

At the entrance of the Netherworld, the light surged like a gigantic swallowing mouth, throwing them out into the outside world like discarded sandals.

Outside the Underworld, the expelled Immortal Gods and Buddhas each displayed faces of anger.

They hailed from the top two forces in the world, guarding the Underworld which even made the Yin Gods of the Underworld revere them. When had they ever suffered such humiliation?

Immediately, they all summoned their Magical Treasures—some wielded treasure swords flashing with thunder light, while others released treasure mirrors emitting bursts of cold air, attempting to forcefully break into the Underworld to reclaim their dignity.

But as soon as they touched the Netherworld’s boundary, a suffocating pressure as heavy as a mountain suddenly descended.

This pressure seemed to carry the rule power of countless ages of the Underworld, pressing down on them so hard they couldn’t breathe.

”Underworld rules, those without Underworld official duties who break into the Underworld will be suppressed in the Eighteen Layers of Hell.”

The merciless voice of the rules detonated directly in their sea of consciousness, sounding like a great bell, causing their souls to tremble.

The faces of the Immortals and Buddhas turned deathly pale, their once-arrogant demeanor instantly extinguished.

They exchanged frightened glances, hurriedly stowing away their Magical Treasures, not daring to linger for another moment, retreating gloomily towards the Buddhist Sect and Heavenly Court, fearing that one more second of delay would result in being swallowed by these terrifying Underworld rules.

Turning back to the interior of the Underworld.

”Crown Prince, will the Heavenly Court and the Buddhist Sect become angry because of this?”

King Qinguang cautiously approached Zhao Feng, slightly bowing, his eyes occasionally observing Zhao Feng’s expression, with clear tentativeness in his voice.

”They will become angry?”

Zhao Feng’s lips curled into a mocking smirk, with a hint of murderous intent swirling around him, as if merely mentioning these two forces would be enough to incite his wrath: ”They dare to come to the Underworld and become angry? In the past, the Empress did not control everything within the Underworld, but that will change from now on.”

”Neither the Tathagata nor Hao Tian can break these Underworld rules.”

”If they have the ability to break them, the Empress would not sit idly by.”

”Crown Prince, if the Underworld has now returned to your control, then what about us...”

King Qinguang’s face was full of unease.

His gaze sneaked glances at other Yamas and found they were also tense, ears perked up, listening intently for Zhao Feng’s answer.

They had served as Yamas in the Underworld for countless years, with divine authority granting them a lofty status between heaven and earth. But without this identity, they would become worthless, reduced to ants in the human world.

”Although I control the Underworld, at present, nothing in the Underworld will change temporarily.”

Zhao Feng clasped his hands behind his back, casting his gaze over the Yamas: ”Once I appoint Emperor Fengdu, if he wishes to make changes, you should cooperate with him.”

”As long as you are truly devoted to the Underworld, I will not treat you poorly.”

Upon receiving this answer.

”Thank you, Your Highness!”

The Yamas relaxed, their previously tense bodies unwinding instantly, bowing in gratitude, their voices full of thanks.

”The people from the Heavenly Court and the Buddhist Sect have already been expelled.”

”From now on, any life souls entering the Underworld must be dealt with according to the rules of the Underworld. Life souls entering the Underworld are not allowed to leave the rules of the Underworld.”

Zhao Feng’s expression was solemn, the unquestionable authority evident on his face: ”I need you all to truly perfect the Underworld.”

”We accept the order!”

The Ten Halls Yama responded in unison, each voice filled with resolve.

Today is like no other.

Ksitigarbha stood aside, the Buddha Light upon him blending with the darkness of the Underworld.

His kasaya swayed gently in the wind, his face a mixture of anticipation and satisfaction.

In the past, the Heavenly Court and the Buddhist Sect would take millions of life souls from the Underworld every so often. Those with particular skills, such as proficiency in Alchemy and Artifact Refining, were made into Immortal Bodies and used as tools for refining. Those with strong enough souls were refined into Bhikkhus and Heavenly Soldiers, until their souls scattered.

This severely disrupted the order of the Underworld, but the Ten Halls Yama and Ksitigarbha were always powerless against it.

But now, everything would change.

”Furthermore, I will enhance the power of the Book of Life and Death and the Judge’s Pen for you.”

Zhao Feng waved his hand, causing the Book of Life and Death and the Judge’s Pen to slowly float forth.

The Book of Life and Death and the Judge’s Pen emitted a powerful energy.

”In the past, you could only judge below the level of Immortals who entered the Underworld. Anything above Immortals had to be passed to the Heavenly Court and the Buddhist Sect.”

”From today onwards, as long as a soul enters the Underworld, you all have the authority to judge through the rules of the Underworld, regardless of how strong they were in life or which power they belonged to; once they enter the Underworld, they follow the Underworld’s rules.”

As the words fell, the Book of Life and Death and the Judge’s Pen hanging at the waists of the Ten Halls Yama began to tremble, as if sensing the call of the highest rules of the Underworld, breaking free from their constraints, rising into the air.

Zhao Feng manipulated the rules of the Earth Dao, dispersing brilliant light from these two Supreme Treasures, light laced with mysterious runes, slowly infusing into the Yamas’ Magical Artifacts.

In an instant, the Underworld trembled, rules resonated, a terrifying aura spread everywhere.

”Ksitigarbha, you have a heart of impartiality for the Underworld, and moreover, a heart concerned for all living things.”

”I will bestow this authority upon you as well.”

Zhao Feng looked at Ksitigarbha, his eyes full of admiration: ”From now on, the Ten Halls Yama will punish life souls below the Taiyin Golden Immortal, while those above will be personally judged by you.”

”I hereby appoint you as Lord of Mount Tai in the Underworld, wielding the rule power of the Underworld, judging souls above the Taiyin Golden Immortal level.”

As soon as the words fell, the vast powerful voice of the Earth Dao roared like thunder, rolling down.

A majestic force suddenly descended upon Ksitigarbha, his aura surged instantly, with Buddha Light and Netherworld Power violently clashing, like water and fire that could not coexist, yet gradually merging in this collision.

With a rumble!

The terrifying might exploded centered upon him, directly propelling him to break through realms, reaching the Peak of Quasi-Saint Middle Stage!

”Ksitigarbha shall fully uphold the order of the Underworld and perform the duties of Lord of Mount Tai!”

The newly advanced Ksitigarbha brought his hands together in a salutation, bowing, enveloped in bands of golden Buddha Light and deep Black Principles, looking up at Zhao Feng full of reverence.

”The Book of Life and Death and the Judge’s Pen will include yours as well.”

Zhao Feng chuckled lightly, as another shadow from the Supreme Treasures by his side separated and gently fell into Ksitigarbha’s hands. As soon as it touched his palms, it merged with the aura surrounding Ksitigarbha, radiating an even more dazzling light.

Thus, the rules of the Underworld were fundamentally reshaped.

On the Book of Life and Death, even those above the Immortals would be bound by the rules of the Earth Dao, while the authority Ksitigarbha held could judge even those above the Taiyin Golden Immortal level.

From this day forth, any soul entering the Underworld shall be judged by the Underworld, the forces of the Yang Realm shall have no right to interfere!
