My Youth Began With Him

Tang Chuan wasn’t rattled, seeing Qin Ning so hesitant and lost with words.

She knew what was on her mind but she couldn’t say it out loud.

She didn’t know if she had pushed Tang Chuan too far as he looked stem and didn’t say anything.

Qin Ning thought he was mad so she immediately held onto his hand and started explaining.

“Um… Tang Chuan, listen to me… It’s not that I don’t like you. It’s not that I don’t want to marry you. You know that my mom passed away when I was really young and my dad is overprotective. He didn’t want me to get hurt so he never remarried. Although he does have someone that understands him well at work, he would never marry her. I’m actually very grateful for my father because I know it hasn’t been easy for him to raise me all these years. He’s both my father and my mother. Not only that, but he also manages a large company. I can’t blame him for developing such a strange personality because he’s really been through a lot. I can’t be selfish and betray him. That’s why I can’t get married to you before telling him. I know if I did that, he’d be very sad. I also need to respect him. I’m sorry, but I don’t want to hurt my dad. Does this make sense?” Qin Ning explained softly to Tang Chuan.

“Ay… I understand. Ning-Ning, calm down. I’m not mad at you. I just said it because it came to mind. If you don’t want to, we don’t have to do it. It’s not your fault, okay? We’re not just dating secretly. We’re officially dating, which means that our marriage should also be open. I’m really not mad at you so don’t worry…” Tang Chuan understood that Qin Ning didn’t reject his marriage proposal because she was unsure about their relationship

“Then will you miss me when I go back to the States…” Qin Ning said with a slightly shy face.

She pouted and looked down because she didn’t have the courage to look Tang Chuan in the eye.

After all, Tang Chuan was her first love so she didn’t have any prior relationship experience. She was just a shy little girl in love.

“No…” Tang Chuan answered directly.

“What? Are you kidding me?” Qin Ning was obviously unhappy with that response.

“Yeah. I mean it. Why should I miss you?” When Tang Chuan said this, Qin Ning’s face immediately turned green.

Before she could say anything, Tang Chuan said, “We’re going to be together every day. What’s there to miss?”

“Every day? Do you mean video chat? There’s a time zone difference between China and the States though…” Qin Ning said worriedly.

“Huh? You still don’t understand what I’m saying, eh? Are you sure you’re the genius that became a director of a large company?” Tang Chuan crossed his arms and looked straight at Qin Ning.

“What do you mean? Stop trying to be mysterious and just say it. If not, I’ll get mad…” Qin Ning was already confused about everything Tang Chuan had brought up and wasn’t sure what he meant now.

“What else can I mean? I’m going to go home, pack, and come with you,” Tang Chuan said nonchalantly.

“Coming with me? Then… will your family agree to that?” Qin Ning’s brows slightly furrowed as she thought that Tang Chuan was being too reckless.

Last time when he went to the States for a month, the elders of the Tang Family were so furious that they had to question Su Yu about it.

“Don’t worry. If my family can confine me, then I wouldn’t be the legendary Tang Chuan known by the mortals.”

Qin Ning:“…”

“Fine. Even if your family is okay, what about my dad? He said that if you want to be with me, you have to…” Qin Ning paused as she knew that Tang Chuan understood where she was coming from.
