My Youth Began With Him

“Ah… No worries, I’m already used to it…” Lu Yan pretended to be indifferent but Huo Mian’s heart really ached for her sister.

At this moment, Lu Yan’s watch flashed. She stood up alertly and pressed on it.

“What is it? Speak.”

“Boss, in 15 mins, the helicopter will land on top of the mountain beside South Hill Manor. Please prepare to depart.”

“Understood.”

After hanging up the phone, Lu Yan looked at Huo Mian.

“Sis, I’ll leave now.” Lu Yan was quite reluctant to go.

“Then, when will we meet again?” Huo Mian asked.

“That… Let’s leave it to chance. However, I’ll try my best to arrange for us to meet. Don’t worry, I’ll always be on the lookout for you and have my bodyguards protect you and the twins. Rest assured.”

“Okay.”

“Then… I’ll get going…”Lu Yan opened the window and prepared to hop out.

“Why aren’t you going through the front door? Aren’t you going to say goodbye to Pudding and Little Bean?” Seeing Lu Yan exiting from the window, Huo Mian also became speechless.

“That’s okay. If I see them, I’ll be more unwilling to leave. Sis, take care.”

Lu Yan then jumped down from the second floor and disappeared into the night.

Huo Mian felt as if the whole thing was just a dream…

Only after Lu Yan disappeared for 5 mins did Huo Mian snap back into reality. Then lifting the empty plate Lu Yan used, she walked downstairs.

“She left?” Qin Chu asked.

Huo Mian nodded.

Due to Qin Chu’s repeated warnings, Gao Ran didn’t mention Huo Mian’s sister to anyone.

When Huo Mian came down, everyone was sitting around the table. The kitchen had also prepared many delicious dishes.

“The saying goes ‘What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’. Come, let’s help our Huo Mian relax… and also help calm the twins down.” Gao Ran proactively raised his glass.

“Uncle Gao, I have something to say to you.”

“Go ahead Pudding.”

“When you guys went to capture them, did you see a huge, dumb guy named Da Hai…”

“Da Hai? I don’t recall someone like that. What is it?” Ga Ran curiously looked at Pudding.

“That person used to be the bad guy’s helper and was involved in our kidnapping. However, I was able to persuade him into joining our side and at the most critical moment, he and Aunt Huo Yanyan rescued Little Bean and I. I was worried that he would be in danger for backstabbing his own gang.”

“Is that so? Then wait a second. I’ll make a call and ask.”

Gao Ran immediately called the police station. After hanging up, he turned to Pudding and said, “He has been captured, but is currently in the hospital, as his injuries are quite severe; he was beaten up by his gang. However, rest assured, he isn’t in critical condition.”

“Ah? Then I want to go visit him tomorrow. I promised him that if he let my sis and I go, I would ask my father to give him a huge sum of money. I also said I would help his hospitalized mom receive the surgery she needs,” Pudding stated word by word.

“Not bad. You even know how to negotiate now. Very impressive, Pudding.” Zhu Lingling dotingly patted Pudding on the head.

“Auntie Lingling, I am also very impressive. I was the one who distracted the pursuers, buying Sis some time to escape. In the end, I was the one who got tied up to the bomb with Mom… It was really frightening… But fortunately, I was very lucky.” Little Bean said while patting her chest.

Everyone was unsure if they should laugh or cry.

“Mian… This time’s event was way too dangerous. You have to be more careful in the future,” Jiang Xiaowei said as he looked at Huo Mian.

Huo Mian nodded.

“Eh? Why are you so quiet, Handsome Su? Ever since you came in, you haven’t spoken a single word to Mommy. Are you still mad at Mommy for lying to you and secretly running away from the hospital?” Little Bean looked up and asked Su Yu.

After this question was asked, everyone’s eyes looked towards Su Yu’s direction.
