My Youth Began With Him

Huo Mian nodded. ”It’s just a guess, I’m not completely sure.”

”I don’t know anyone with dual personalities… It’s a psychological disease, right?”

”It’s a very serious mental disorder… It’s like there are two souls living in his body. Aside from his original personality, he also has another one. Neither of them is aware that the other exists. When his other personality emerges, he will completely forget what his other personality did…”

”F*ck, that’s crazy,” Su Yu exclaimed in surprise; he didn’t think that people like that existed in real life.

”Yeah… that’s what I heard.”

”I’ve only ever heard about people with split personalities on TV or in novels, I didn’t think it was a real disease.”

”Of course it is… Xiaowei probably knows more about it than I do. I need to talk to her about this.”

”What if… he really had two personalities… would he still have to take responsibility if his other personality committed murder?”

Huo Mian sank into silence after hearing Su Yu’s question.

Then, she answered slowly, ”I’ve thought about your question. Reality is really harsh… people like that don’t have to take responsibility for the crimes they commit since it’s a mental disorder. If it’s proven, he wouldn’t be sentenced to death.”

”That’s so unfair, we can’t let that asshole get away!” Su Yu exclaimed in fury.

”Don’t worry about it yet, it’s just a thought… we don’t know if it’s true or not. After all, Huo Siqian is a man with a lot of evil tricks up his sleeves…”

”Huo Mian, are you scared of him?” Su Yu asked worriedly when he saw how nervous Huo Mian looked when she talked about Huo Siqian.

”The truth is, I’m not afraid of him, but I am afraid that he might hurt my babies… If he really did add contraceptives to the food I ate at South Side or South Hill Manor, that means he didn’t want me to become pregnant… But now I’m pregnant with twins. I’m worried that he might try to harm them. I don’t care what I do, but I have to protect them. Qin Chu disappeared, and if something happens to my children too, I wouldn’t be able to survive this.”

Huo Mian was sensible and wasn’t controlled by her emotions. Her voice was calm; what she said truthfully reflected what she thought.

Huo Mian’s calmness gave Su Yu a sense of fright – he had to protect Huo Mian and her children. If someone were to happen to her unborn twins, Huo Mian would really die.

”Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, he won’t be able to do anything to you. I won’t give him the chance to,” Su Yu promised.

Upon hearing this, Huo Mian smiled; she didn’t say anything else.

- The next day at noon -

When Grandpa Su came back from Jing City, he was immediately notified that Mayor Song asked to have tea with him.

Aware of what the latter’s intentions were, Grandpa Song immediately nodded in agreement.

- Inside a secluded tea garden in the outskirts of C City -

Mayor Song sat inside an elegantly-decorated room, filled with redwood furniture. An exquisite tea set was filled with tea, emitting a delicious aroma.

”Is this Tieguanyin I’m smelling? The scent is amazing…” Grandpa Su said as he walked through the door with security guards trailing behind.

Mayor Song immediately stood up. ”Commander Song.”

”Sit down, you don’t have to be so uptight, we’re not on the base right now.”

”Okay,” Mayor Song said as he slowly sat down and poured Grandpa Song a cup of tea with a brown-nosing smile on his face. ”Commander Song, have a taste. I heard your favorite tea is Tieguanyin.”
