My Youth Began With Him

“Su Yu… don’t worry, none of us will let anything happen to Huo Mian. Now is not the time to be irrational.”

“If I don’t do something, Huo Mian will die. Didn’t you see how the judge immediately detained her? Song Qingguo wants Huo Mian to die in jail and it’s as easy as killing an ant for him. She will never have a fair trial,” Su Yu roared at Tang Chuan and Wei Liao.

Tang Chuan and Wei Liao glanced at one another and fell into silence…

“Su Yu, Xiaowei should know all about what’s going on. Here, come home with me and we will ask her. That day, when we had our get-togethers, Huo Mian and Xiaowei talked alone for a long time. She probably told her the plan. Someone as clever as Huo Mian would never die for nothing. Let’s find out what she knows first. If we’re really out of options and Huo Mian’s really in danger, we’ll do anything to help you get her out. We’ll blow up the jail if we need to.”

“Yeah, Su Yu, go to his house first and find out everything that you can from Xiaowei,” Tang Chuan agreed.

At the sound of their suggestions, Su Yu finally calmed down a little and took off with Wei Liao and Tang Chuan.

After his departure from Mayor Song, Huo Siqian returned to his company. He handled some business and got off work early.

– At some underground entertainment establishment under the Huo Corporation –

This place was dark and dingy; it was where Huo Siqian laundered money, but his methods were different from Rick’s family’s underground banks.

Rick also had an underground bank under his house, but it was only open to upper-class wealthy people.

Huo Siqian’s underground bank, on the other hand, was open to people from all walks of life. Thus, there was also a great number and variety of people here.

Normally, it was a man named Ah-Fu who managed the place for Huo Siqian.

Ah-Fu was terrified of Huo Siqian…

At the sight of the man, he immediately went into obedience mode.

“Hey Boss, you in?”

Huo Siqian took off his orange suit jacket and threw it in the man’s arms.

He then grabbed a large number of chips and walked towards a table in the middle of the room.

He threw all of his chips towards the same spot…

After the opening card was dealt, he heard a simple “The house wins”, and all of Huo Siqian’s chips were taken away…

What a terrible day…

It was as if something was weighing down his heart, he couldn’t breathe properly.

Just then, a red-faced man sitting in another table yelled out loud.

“Haha, I won again?” The man was loud. He turned over his cards and revealed three aces.

Many guests began to praise him…

Huo Siqian walked over to the man and glanced at him. He suddenly grabbed the man’s arms and from his sleeves, pulled out a couple of cards, all being aces.

“Oh, what do we have here… a cheater.” Huo Siqian smiled.

“Boss… I’m so sorry! I will never do this again…”

At the sight of things going south, the man immediately fell to his knees and begged.

The men behind Huo Siqian grabbed the man and pulled him out of the room…

“Boss, same rule? Are we still cutting off one hand?”

Ah-Fu asked Huo Siqian carefully…

“I’m not feeling so kind today. What should we do?”

“Both hands?” A Fu tried his best to infer Huo Siqian’s words.

Without a reply, Huo Siqian took out his lighter and started playing with it.

“Both hands and both feet?” Ah-Fu asked again.

Huo Siqian raised his head and glanced coldly at Ah-Fu. “Why are you so gruesome… That’s too cruel. Why don’t you just throw him into the ocean and feed him to the fishes? It’s good for the environment too.”

“Yes, yes, yes, I’ll do that immediately.”

With that, Ah-Fu turned around and immediately instructed, “Tie him up onto a large rock and throw him into the ocean.”

Then, he added, “The boss’s not feeling well today. Watch yourselves.”

Huo Siqian went into a secret room below the gambling house.

He flipped through the accounting books aimlessly, while the images of the courtroom ran through his head…

Huo Siqian didn’t predict this from Huo Mian. Her trip to jail caused heartaches for not only Qin Chu and Su Yu, but for Huo Siqian as well.

What a cruel game she was playing…

“Stupid girl… you really know how to hurt me… What am I supposed to do with you now?” Huo Siqian mumbled tenderly.

– Deep into the night –

In a private office of the prison, a prison guard dialed a number.

“Hello?”

“Mayor Song… I have important information for you. Today, during a physical examination, we found out that inmate Huo Mian is one month along in her pregnancy. What should we do?” The prison guard reported with the quietest voice possible.

Mayor Song’s face grew dark at the sound of that…
