Chapter 230: Chapter 227: Slap-The-Shit-Out Jutsu

”You just dug your own grave.” Kaminari expressed his agitation after Ryu taunted him about his speed.

Ryu smiled when his successful taunt provoked Kaminari, and he clenched his fists in anger. Kaminari was hot-headed, much like the Fourth Raikage.

Ryu was also ready for him; he compressed his [ReflexGuard – Jackhammer] in his other hand, channelling chakra into the seal.

Just as Ryu had predicted, Kaminari punched Ryu with his free hand, and Ryu did the same. Their fists collided with a violent impact that sent another shockwave through the air. Due to the size difference and angle of Ryu’s attack, Kaminari staggered backward, fighting to retain his balance.

All who witnessed Ryu and Kaminari exchanging blows could not believe the sheer power and speed of their attacks, leaving them in awe of the intense battle unfolding before their eyes.

The Jackhammer on Ryu’s hand shattered like glass, and Kaminari inspected his trembling hand, feeling the aftermath of the punch.

Ryu was one step ahead of Kaminari and regained his balance a second before kaminari. A second was all he needed to form a new [ReflexGuard – Jackhammer]. Ryu compressed it and charged at Kaminari, launching an attack before Kaminari could recover his balance.

Ryu punched Kaminari in the gut, and Kaminari took the full force of the blow from the Jackhammer but remained standing, only pushed back, sliding on the ground a few feet, the earth tearing under his feet.

Kaminari stopped sliding and dug his feet into the ground. Then, Kaminari looked up and said, ”That tickles,” with a low growl in his voice, holding his breath. Even a kid could tell he was lying.

Inside, Kamianri thought, ”This monster almost threw me on the ground. How can his attack have so much power in it? If I had not been wearing my armour, I would be in serious trouble.”

Physical augmentation using chakra was Kaminari’s speciality. After years of practice and research focused on defence and power over speed, he was able to come up with this lightning armour. Defence was undeniably his forte, but Ryu was still able to hurt him a little.

Kaminari then moved again, his lightning-clad form powered up, aiming to corner Ryu to prevent him from creating distance or using those Carbon Cards. Ryu tried to punch him again with his [ReflexGuard – Jackhammer], attempting to meet force with force. But this time, Kaminari was faster, more precise. He caught Ryu’s entire hand, encased in the shimmering hexagonal gauntlet of the Jackhammer, in his big fists.

”Shit,” Ryu thought, ”I will get a rebound if I try to activate the Jackhammer now.”

With Ryu’s arm trapped, Kaminari was very fast to punch Ryu in the abdomen with a devastating punch, his fist crackling with intensified lightning chakra.

Kaminari aimed to incapacitate Ryu without causing fatal injury, yet the punch carried a potent force that shattered the defensive barriers shielding Ryu.

Ryu threw out blood from his mouth, flying back from the force, hitting the ground hard, his cards scattering where he fell. Anyone else would have been instantly knocked out, their ribs shattered, but Ryu was more resilient than a normal academy brat, and his layered shields also absorbed some of the impact before it hit him.

Before Ryu could fully rise, while struggling to push himself up, Kaminari swiftly closed the distance and delivered another punch towards Ryu. Again, Ryu instinctively crossed his arms, activating his [ReflexGuard] to form defensive barriers, but the sheer power of Kaminari’s armoured punch overwhelmed them. The force of the punch threw Ryu away again, bouncing across the ground.

Ryu seemed small compared to Kaminari, who stood over him with his lightning armour still in effect. Kaminari moved near Ryu, grabbing him roughly by his collar, lifting him partially from the ground.

”Your taijutsu and endurance level are good for an academy brat,” Kaminari said, a cruel smile on his face as he held the bruised and bleeding boy. ”Much better than I expected.” He tightened his grip slightly. ”But you went too far when you hit me. I am going to take my time enjoying breaking your bones.”

Despite his strong defences and resilience, Ryu sustained bruises and some bleeding from the impacts.

Kohinata and the secretary, watching the brutal display, were worried. They were aware that Kaminari, a Jonin who specialised in brute force, was different from the other enemies.

Kaminari looked down at Ryu, his confidence absolute. ”Your strange attacks are impressive,” he said, specifically referring to the Jackhammer punch that had pushed him back. ”But I doubt you have anything that would put a scratch on me while I am wearing this lightning armour.”

”Now I am going to slap the shit out of you, brat,” Kaminari said with a menacingly low voice and a sly smile.

Ryu was now within arm’s reach of him, cornered. Instead of terror, Ryu’s lips formed a small grin.

”Slap the shit out?” Ryu asked, his voice calm despite his situation. ”Like this.”

Ryu slapped Kaminari across the face with a sudden, explosive movement that was powered by a very potent chakra impulse released from his [Senju-Style Taijutsu].

Ryu moved quickly and hit hard, catching Kaminari off guard. time seemed to stretch out, and Ryu relished the slow-motion slap. Kaminari’s eyes widened comically, his jaw dropping in utter disbelief just before the full force hit. The expression of pain and confusion that stretched his features was truly funny to Ryu.

On the other hand, Kaminari was experiencing a flashback of the traumatic experiences he had endured as a young child, the numerous instances in which his mother had slapped him around.

Just imagine Tsunade or Prime Sakura slapping someone while using Senju-style taijutsu – that level of explosive, focused and impulsive power delivered with pinpoint precision right on the cheek.

Due to the impact of the slap, Kaminari was launched into the air, his massive frame spinning around before crashing to the ground multiple times. As the opponents and allies watched the unconventional [Slap-The-Shit-Out Jutsu] in action, they all were shocked into silence.

Ryu smiled and thought, ”After [Thousand-Years-Of-Pain], I think this is the most humiliating jutsu to hit by. When that guy wakes up, he will be very upset.”

The impact of the slap left a ringing in Kaminari’s ears as he struggled to regain his bearings, his pride wounded more than his body. There was dead silence for some seconds.

”Did he just slap Kaminari and send him flying?” one of the remaining Cloud ninjas asked with a tone of disbelief.

Kaori, despite her worry, couldn’t help but utter, ”Boss... How can a slap have this much force?”

Kohinata simply stared, a look of utter bewilderment on his face. ”Well, I’ll be damned. That must be senju style taijutsu. Only senju style taijutsu can generate this kind of force behind a simple move like that.”

Kaminari lay there, clearly shaken, his mind momentarily out of order from the unexpected impact. A small, distinct hand imprint from the slap could be seen on his face, a stark mark against his lightning-armoured form.

The lightning armour he boasted of was able to take most of the damage, protecting his skull and neck, but it could not fully negate the full, focused force of the slap delivered directly on his cheeks, where the armour is thinnest.

Kaminari held his cheek, experiencing a sharp, pulsating pain that brought back memories of familiar, stinging slaps from the past. ”Shit,” he thought, the shock beginning to wear off. ”That... that reminded me of my mother.”

Pushing himself up from the ground, Kaminari groaned, shaking his head to dispel the disorientation from the slap. His lightning armour flickered momentarily; the power wavered before stabilising. He looked at Ryu, a mix of pain, shock, and fury in his eyes.

”Attack the brat!” Kaminari shouted to his remaining men, his voice hoarse. ”Be careful of the brat! Use your weapons! He does not have cards anymore!” He assumed the small deck was the extent of Ryu’s supply or that Ryu couldn’t generate them fast enough under pressure.

Responding to the command and the sight of their leader’s battered state, the remaining ninjas, those who had been with Kaminari throughout the chase, adjusted their tactics. Multiple ninjas fired Shuriken at Ryu, aiming to overwhelm him.

In Ryu’s perception, as the shuriken flew, the world seemed to slow down. He looked left and right and observed every weapon. His [Fast Thinking] kicked in, stretching the moment. He didn’t block or use a barrier. He only moved a few steps, and every tiny adjustment was the result of combined abilities. His [Parallel Thinking] simultaneously analysed the trajectory of each incoming shuriken, processing their angles and speeds. Coupled with his [Improved Eyesight] and [Peripheral Awareness], he saw everything – every spinning shuriken, every enemy position, every potential threat – all at once.

As Ryu took each step, a few shuriken darted past him, narrowly missing their target. Ryu avoided all of the kunai and shuriken in that manner.
