Naruto: The Medical Ninja

Chapter 208: Chapter 207: Chakra Fusion Seal

The next morning, Ryu wakes up in his bed.

Ryu yawned and thought, ”Today I will complete my Earth affinity training and move on to water.”

Dan enters the room and says, ”Good morning, sleepyhead.”

Ryu replied, ” Good morning, Grandpa.”

Dan sighed and said, ”When are you going to stop sleeping on the floor?”

Ryu understood he slept in the backyard and woke up on his bed.

Dan continued, ”You have a perfectly excellent bed right here. Every time you train at night, I find you sleeping on the floor and I have to lift you to your bed. You are getting heavier every day. I’ll have to start weightlifting for real!”

Ryu replied, ”That’s not a bad idea, Grandpa. Some muscles will look good on you.”

Dan was dumbfounded; he said it as a joke but Ryu’s response made him realise he might actually need to start hitting the gym. He chuckled and said, ”Alright, I’ll consider it. But seriously, let’s get you sleeping in a proper bed from now on. Don’t train until you are completely out of juice.”

Ryu smiled sheepishly and replied, ”Sorry, Grandpa. I was totally committed yesterday to training and was out of juice when I realised I was done and I ended up on the floor. I did not know when I fell asleep while taking a break.”

Danraised an eyebrow and asked, ”And what’s with that forest of earth pillars in the garden? Last I checked, we didn’t have a sudden geological formation.”

Ryu replied, ”That’s how I trained my earth affinity, Grandpa.

Dan replied, ”I already figured that out, genius. That was a rhetorical question. What I’m asking is why you left them standing there. You could have easily removed them with earth manipulation.”

Ryu said, ” Oh, right. Well, I’m planning to practise Senju-style taijutsu on those pillars today. They’ll make good targets.”

Dan thought, ”Oh, right. That scary taijutsu Tsunade’s been teaching him.’

Dan asked, ”How are your hands feeling this morning, Ryu? Are they still hurting much? You know, you can always slow things down if it’s too intense.”

Dan looks at Ryu with concern, remembering how brutal the training for Senju-style taijutsu can be from when Tsunade was learning.

Ryu replied, ” They were a mess yesterday, Grandpa, but after a good night’s sleep, they’re feeling much better. Almost back to normal.

Dan replied, ” Still, I think you should give yourself a break today and let those newly formed chakra veins properly settle. In the meantime, I have some more seals for you to study.”

Dan hands Ryu a scroll containing detailed information on various fuinjutsu seals.

Dan said, ” These are different types of explosive seals. Be very careful with them, alright?

Ryu smiled, looking at the scroll and said, ”This is perfect, Grandpa! An explosion was exactly what I was thinking of incorporating into my seals.”

Ryu thought, ”Remote trigger, delayed trigger, proximity trigger... this is exactly what I needed!”

Dan said, ”I know you are always careful, but I have to remind you again. Modify them with the utmost caution, Ryu. Explosions are not something to play around with.”

Ryu said, ” Yes, Grandpa. I promise. I will handle this with the utmost care.”

Ryu thought, ’Hmm, maybe today I will focus on fuinjutsu then. If I can even cut out the trigger mechanisms from these seals and integrate them into my own designs. Things would be legendary.”

Ryu freshened up and went straight to his workshop.

He closed his eyes and focused intensely on enhancing his mental processes by overclocking them.

- [Temporary Enhance] running on [Fast Thinking] and [Parallel Thinking]

- [Overclocking] enabled

- Analysing of [Remote Detonation-Seal]

- Progress: 30%...60%...90%...100%

- Analysing of [Delayed Detonation-Seal]

- Progress: 30%...60%...90%...100%

- Analysing of [Proximity Detonation-Seal]

- Progress: 30%...60%...90%...100%

Ryu thought, ”Now I have a trigger mechanism, but there is no Timer-Trigger Seal in here. I guess I will make that when I have spare time. What should I try next?”

Ryu looked at his [Chakra Backup Seal] on his heads-up display and thought, ”What if I have two separate storage compartments for different natures of chakra in a single seal?”

His target was not the chakra storage seal but to see if it was possible to mix chakra in the seal inside the seal. He theorised that it is impossible to mix chakra of different affinities inside the body without absolute, god-like control over elements or a Kekkei Genkai that supports it.

Ryu thought, ”Let’s try it and see what happens. I don’t need too large a chakra in the seal; just for one jutsu, it is enough. I will also reduce the storage size to reduce the complexity, and I need a different compartment for mixing. I wonder if the mixture will be stable. I guess I will use a trigger for mixing the chakras and use the trigger mechanism from a distance.”

Ryu had laid out a blueprint for his seal and had all the smaller units in the seal and their functions defined, and now all he had to do was code it.

- New seal creation is under progress.

- adding chakra storage units / 10%

- adding mixing units / 40%

- adding safety protocols / 80%

- New Seal created / 100%

- [Chakra Fusion Seal] created.

- Simulation / 10%... 20%...100%

- Seal not stable

- The seal may be destroyed under operation.

Ryu thought, ”The seal is unstable during operation. I need to find a solution to prevent its destruction. Perhaps using it with lower chakra levels could help. I should test it to understand its stability.”

Ryu spent the next 10 minutes writing the seal on a fuinjutsu paper and when he was finished, he checked for any errors.

Ryu said , ”Alright, let’s see what this bad boy can do.”

Ryu first stored earth affinity chakra using a specific hand seal related to earth affinity and then stored lightning chakra.

This seal was a remotely triggered seal designed to activate using a handseal in close proximity. The seal reacts to the intention of the caster using that hand seal and mixes the chakra.

Ryu put the seal tag on a dummy in a cleared-out testing area in the middle of this closed space in his workshop, a bit far away from other parts. Ryu had put a few barrier seals around the area at three different radii, expecting the unexpected.

Ryu triggered the seal through his chakra and intent without the need of a hand seal. The trigger mechanism had a connection to him using chakra and responded to his will.

###Boom###

An explosion occurred, larger than an explosion from a simple explosive tag, shattering the barriers around the testing area and creating a shockwave that threw everything in its wake, including Ryu.

The birds flew at the moment of explosion and everyone was alerted. Including ANBU in the perimeter.

One ANBU remarked, ”The explosion was massive, like the simultaneous detonation of multiple explosive tags.”

Another ANBU replied, ”He gave his secretary a break; maybe he’s doing something in secret and doesn’t want anyone to find out.”

Other ANBU nodded.

Inside the home Dan thought, ”That explosion was bigger than a normal explosive. I guess he is done experimenting and has already modified the explosive seal.”

As the dust settled inside the workshop, Ryu slowly rose to his feet, his mind racing with the question, ”That was not a simple explosion. An explosion of this magnitude, when I am only using comparatively lower levels of chakra, can only be [Explosion Release – Kekkei Genkai].”

Ryu was beyond surprised. He knew it should be possible but he was astonished when he succeeded on the first try, creating a Kekkei Genkai of elemental type. It is a high-level bloodline ability that can only be passed down in a family through DNA and is not learnt by conventional methods. Technically he was not the one using Kekkei Genkai; it was the fuinjutsu seal.

Ryu realised the gravity of this situation. He had done the impossible. Of all his earlier creations, this was the biggest in terms of destructive power.

Ryu confidently stated, ”As expected, the combination of Lightning and Earth produces Explosion.”

Then a new idea formed in his head. He thought, ”Then all other chakra combinations should also be possible.”

Ryu was filled with boundless excitement, yet he recognised the critical importance of handling his discovery with utmost care.

Ryu thought, ”If even a word of it gets out, the entire world will be out for my blood.

Ryu was progressing faster than anyone but he was still a kid and had a long way to go. Ryu knew he had to keep this discovery a secret at all costs.

Ryu smiled and thought, ”I am going to get an earful when grandpa finds out. But even then I should not hide it from him. It’s such a big discovery.”

The power he held in his hands was both exhilarating and terrifying. He wanted to discover what more he could do with the seal.

Ryu thought, ”I can also release a bit of wind chakra. Let’s try it and see what happens.”
