May 8th.

After Modu Hospital confirmed that Wu Heguang’s condition had initially stabilized, he could finally be discharged.

A private jet arranged by Gao Ming flew Wu Heguang and Wu Xinlan to Xiangjiang.

Wu Xinlan, who was unfamiliar with the situation in Xiangjiang, was taken by Gao Ming to a small private hospital.

This small private hospital, called Ipoh Hospital, had been secretly acquired by the Internal Affairs Division last year. Its areas of expertise were cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and oncological medicine.

Although Wu Xinlan was skeptical of the hospital’s capabilities, Gao Ming swore that the best hospitals in Xiangjiang were private ones and that he had connections at this particular one.

Sure enough, upon admission, Wu Heguang was placed in a VIP suite.

Dean Lin Dongliang appeared in the room with Gao Ming and Wu Xinlan. He adjusted his glasses and said, ”I’ve reviewed Mr. Wu’s medical records and brain CT scan. The problem isn’t too severe. We can schedule the surgery for tomorrow evening.”

”Dean Lin, what is the success rate for the surgery?” Wu Xinlan asked worriedly.

Lin Dongliang replied with a smile, ”99%. When it comes to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular issues, I’m an expert.”

’99%?’ Wu Xinlan was incredulous. She knew Xiangjiang’s medical standards were good, but they shouldn’t be that much better than Modu Hospital’s. Even Modu Hospital wouldn’t make such a guarantee, yet this man dared to make such a bold claim.

But Lin Dongliang was completely confident. ”Don’t worry. The patient will be fully awake in about three or four days.”

Despite her doubts, Wu Xinlan had no choice but to trust him for the time being.

And Lin Dongliang truly was confident, because Wu Heguang’s coma wasn’t primarily due to the cerebral hemorrhage, which was actually quite minor. It was caused by a special, genetically engineered parasite.

All they had to do was remove the interfering parasite, use a blood-sucking parasite to absorb and clear out the pooled blood from his cerebral cortex, and then implant a bio-chip. By stimulating his brain with pheromones and hormones, Wu Heguang would soon wake up.

After all, when the plan was first designed, they had taken his life into account and made sure he wouldn’t actually end up in a vegetative state.

The resulting cerebral hemorrhage was, in fact, minimal. The key factor was the parasite’s interference with his brain, which was what kept Wu Heguang from regaining consciousness.

「The next evening.」

Inside the operating room, Lin Dongliang and several Soldier medics removed the parasite and the pooled blood. Then, with blatant audacity, they implanted a bio-chip into Wu Heguang.

On the third day after the surgery, Wu Heguang woke up.

In the VIP suite, Wu Xinlan saw the conscious Wu Heguang, and a look of relief finally washed over her face. ”Uncle! How are you feeling?”

Still groggy, Wu Heguang shook his head slightly and replied weakly, ”I’m fine... How are things at the company?”

”Cousin is handling things at the company. You should just focus on getting better!” Wu Xinlan’s smile was a bit forced.

Just then, Lin Dongliang opened the door. ”Miss Wu, the patient needs to rest for a while. Please refrain from discussing things that might upset him.”

Wu Xinlan nodded. ”Thank you so much, Dean Lin and Ipoh Hospital. I’ll cooperate with the hospital’s arrangements and let my uncle rest here.”

”Thank you, to your hospital...” Wu Heguang added his thanks in a weak voice.

”You’re welcome. Rest well.” Lin Dongliang smiled and closed the door.

Wu Xinlan first recorded a short video of Wu Heguang awake and talking. Then, worried he might get anxious, she took away his phone before leaving the hospital. She also reported the good news to the Modu Headquarters.

Upon receiving the video, Kong Zhao Lin breathed a small sigh of relief.

He had been under immense pressure these past few days. The obstruction from management and shareholders, along with the constant pressure from banks, suppliers, and clients, had left him physically and mentally exhausted.

Fortunately, Kailuo Company’s stance had softened. It seemed that, due to their urgent need to complete the fertilizer plant, they were considering granting Donghua Group an extension.

Another week passed in the blink of an eye.

Having mostly recovered, Wu Heguang was growing impatient. He asked Lin Dongliang during his rounds.

”Dean Lin, how is my recovery coming along? Can I be discharged soon?”

Lin Dongliang nodded. ”You’re just about there. Let’s run one final check. If there are no issues, Mr. Wu, you can be discharged.”

”Then let’s not delay. Please arrange the check-up, Dean Lin.”

”Xiaochen, take Mr. Wu to the special examination area.”

”Yes, Dean.”

’This truly is a top-tier private hospital; the service is impeccable.’ Wu Heguang felt his two million-plus Hong Kong dollars had been well spent.

Soon, an orderly pushed his bed, taking Wu Heguang to the special examination area deep within the hospital. The area was highly secure, requiring passage through a series of gates, which gave it a very exclusive feel.

When the bed was pushed into a room, Wu Heguang still hadn’t realized the gravity of the situation.

Not until a young woman pushed open the door.

”Sir, we’re here.”

Hmm? Wu Heguang subconsciously glanced at the doorway. The next second, his pupils contracted.

’What is he doing here?’

”Long time no see, Uncle Wu.” Li Qingye stood calmly before the hospital bed, his hands in his pockets.

GULP. Wu Heguang’s heart raced and his breathing grew ragged. He forced a dry laugh. ”Qingye, how did you find the time to visit? I told that girl Xinlan not to trouble you.”

”Did you know, Uncle Wu? Donghua Group is about to have a new owner.” The corners of Li Qingye’s mouth tilted up slightly as he continued, as if talking to himself.

”I already control 45.1% of Donghua Group’s shares. Oh, and I forgot to mention, Kailuo Company is my enterprise. So you don’t need to worry about defaulting on your contract.”

What? Wu Heguang’s face changed drastically. No matter how deep his self-control, he couldn’t hold back. ”Kailuo Company is yours?”

”Surprised? This hospital is mine, too,” Li Qingye reminded him.

Cold sweat beaded on Wu Heguang’s forehead as a storm raged in his heart. ”Gao Ming is your man? Was my coma part of your plan too?”

”Uncle Wu, I just wanted to enjoy the look on your face as you lose Donghua Group.”

Wu Heguang’s breathing grew more and more rapid, but then he suddenly felt it calm down significantly. He didn’t know that the bio-chip was preventing him from having a fatal stroke due to agitation by forcibly controlling some of his physiological functions.

”You think you can control Donghua Group with just 45.1% of the shares? That’s wishful thinking! I still hold 34%, and the other shareholders will never let you take over.”

”Is that so?” Li Qingye smiled, then reminded him, ”Uncle Wu, have you perhaps forgotten something?”

’What?’ Countless thoughts flashed through Wu Heguang’s mind.

”Then let me remind you. Your inheritance is mine.”

Damn it! Wu Heguang instantly remembered. Back then, to appease a faction within Xinxin Group, he had given Li Qingye a will in front of Su Ruoyu and others.

What was worse, the will had been notarized, and he had never gotten around to revoking it.

”It seems you finally remember.”

”Heh heh, you’ve grown up.” Wu Heguang suddenly started laughing, then said fearlessly:

”You are indeed the heir to my estate, but how are you going to kill me? In this hospital? Xinlan and Zhao Lin are no fools.”

”Uncle Wu, when did I ever say I was going to kill you? You’re my respected Uncle Wu! I want you to live a long and healthy life.” Li Qingye’s eyes narrowed, and a strange smile appeared on his face.
