Flowers Bloom from Battlefield

”They ended it all rather quickly,” Yan said as he checked the war report. He had sent his spies to watch the battle because he had been rather busy attending to some matters. With his identity as a merchant, he can travel far away easily and even gain profit.

Yan browsed through his profits gained from Kai Kingdom this time. He is satisfied with the result and it is time for him to return. Their plan is going smoothly.

Capital of Ming Kingdom

Ming Hui almost spurted out his drink when he heard about the nicknames his friends had gotten. He can understand how Soujin got the nickname, but calling Jun Min flower is truly… Never mind. He had once called him that before when he saw the scene of him bathed in blood with all those corpses around him.

”Jun Min is awesome.” Fan Lanying said in awe. She was there when Ming Hui’s servant told them about that news.

Ming Hui chuckled. ”Do you like him?”

Despite Ming Hui only casually asking it, Fan Lanying felt that there was a killing intent behind it. She wondered if Ming Hui had any grudge towards Jun Min. As for that question, her answer is no. She only admired him, not like him.

”No, I only admire him. I want to become a great general like him or Soujin.” Fan Lanying grinned.

Ming Hui smiled warmly. ”I will help you in the future.”

”You can? But, aren’t girls not allowed to join the military?”

Ming Hui also knows about that rule, but he can make an exception for this girl. Of course, he cannot do it now, but he will.

”Don’t worry, they will be able to in the future.”

Fan Lanying stared at the serious face of Ming Hui. She giggled. ”Why are you so serious? You don’t have to help me, you know?”

”I want to.”

Fan Lanying looked back at Ming Hui. She got the feeling that the person before her is not a girl, but rather a man. However, how can a man act so elegantly and refined to the point that no other girls can match him? Fan Lanying shook her head, erasing those thoughts.

Sometimes, the truth is in front of you, but you don’t want to see it.

Kai Kingdom

The atmosphere in the palace was gloomy. The officials did not dare to make any sound as their emperor is still looking angry. From the war report, they had come to know why the emperor is in so much rage.

Two of their princes have died. They were even the more capable ones too, making him even angrier. Their deaths were caused by two people, Ming Kingdom General Nanglong Soujin and Ming Kingdom Young General Jun Min. These two people’s names have resounded throughout the entire eastern part of the Ming Kingdom. What made it even more vexing is all the news were telling of their greatness in the war.

”General Wei… do you have anything to say?”

General Wei was still standing straight even under the wrathful gaze of the emperor. He looked back calmly.

”General Nanglong Soujin and General Jun Min are two exceedingly capable generals. There is nothing I can do in front of the two of them.”

General Wei still remembered how the two of them had joined hands to stop him and rush towards his soldiers. The soldiers under their lead not only had high morale, but also high skills that made them capable of beating several soldiers in one go. His defeat is not without a cause, he knows that facing the two of them is almost impossible.

”What if there is only one of them?” the emperor glared at the general. As the emperor, this is the first time he felt this humiliated to lose so many soldiers without achieving anything.

General Wei thought about it. If there is only one of them, the number of soldiers will reduce greatly, and there will only be one person facing him. Regardless of which one, he knows that they are capable of fighting on par with him. Besides, their post is not on the north border, so their real soldiers must number even more.

”The possibility is there, but I cannot be sure about it.”

The emperor knows that General Wei is not lying. Even his fourth son had been acting a bit crazy out of fear ever since the war. The damages their kingdom has suffered are not one that he can take lightly.

”Are these two the only threats from the Ming Kingdom?”

”No, there is still Lan Pan.”

”That monster…” the emperor’s mouth twitched slightly. That Ming Kingdom is sure betting their lives with using that person. Regardless, the Ming Kingdom has become unstoppable.

…

Pan Kingdom

The emperor over here still stayed calm throughout the report, but not a single official dared to raise their head. They kept their head low and prayed in their heart that the emperor won’t notice them. The emperor won’t go around pointing fingers, but in an instant, they might lose their head without knowing the reason.

He tapped the arm of his throne as he glared at the officials.

”Can anyone tell me, how is it possible that our plan failed?”

The entire war was Pan Kingdom’s doing and they had planned everything perfectly. The losses of the Mountain Kingdom should have made the Jun family shift their attention to the Yuan Kingdom, but that kingdom suddenly backed down, bringing the talented general towards the north and thoroughly destroyed their plan.

Who would have thought that the young and new rising general could accomplish so much? Not only that, they would never expect to see the Ming Kingdom actually unleash that monster on the border against them. This made them suffer heavy losses over and over again.

”Your Majesty, our plan failed due to an unexpected factor.”

The emperor glared at that person, causing his legs to go weak. He felt immense regret for speaking up, but someone needed to do it.

”Relay my order, strengthen the defenses, when it’s time, we will make the Ming Kingdom pay.”

The emperor’s gaze heated with the flame of revenge. He won’t let this matter end like this.
