Flowers Bloom from Battlefield

The losses on the Mountain Kingdom side were really big. They have lost some of their capable officers during the battle with most of them killed by one person. General Hen was looking at the report in disbelief. He could not believe that in only a single day, they had lost thousands of soldiers along with a few capable officers.

”Just what kind of monster is this Jun Min?” he looked at General Tou who had a complicated emotion plastered on his not-so-young face anymore.

”He’s a youngster,” General Tou laughed a bit. ”I think still in his teens. If you meet him, you won’t believe that he’s a general.”

”Why?” General Hen asked, confused.

”The kid is only half your height and has a slender build. If not for seeing him slaying the commander with my own eyes, I wouldn’t have believed it too,” General Tou answered.

Hearing that from the great general’s mouth, the other officers have their face ashen. How could they supposedly believe that a kid can possibly beat them? This is not a fairy tale. This is a battlefield.

”Even if you don’t believe me, you will see him tomorrow. I will duel with him and fight to my heart’s content.”

Hearing the general words, they felt even more conflicted. General Tou has been a general since a long time ago. Many people have heard about his greatness. He is basically an old person who is still active on the battlefield and fights with whoever he wants. Most of the youngsters were not his opponents and he would simply beat them up without care.

If he said that there is someone who could match up to him, most of them are already adults or even old like him. A youth possessing power and ability to match him is simply unbelievable. The generals were all feeling conflicted about the general’s decision, but it was not in their places to speak so all they could do is follow.

General Tou looked at the wall and smiled slightly. That youth is very interesting. Despite being only in his youth, he possessed the ability to turn the tables around and battle efficiently, totally unlike a normal youth.

He’s eager to have a battle with him.

…

”You said you made a promise with General Tou to battle with him?” Jun Qing felt that his niece was nothing but trouble.

”Yes.”

”Do you know how powerful General Tou is? How many people do you think have died in his hands? He’s a war veteran, unlike a greenhorn general like you!”

Jun Min pursed his lips. He knows all of that. Among the people, who haven’t heard of the famous great generals from the olden times? General Tuo was one of them and he is also the only one still active. There are several other great generals who are only around 40 years old and still active. But for those above 50, only General Tuo is still actively fighting on the battlefield.

In truth, Jun Min was greatly surprised to find out that the old man she thought as dangerous would turn out to be a great general. He himself could not categorize himself as a great general because of his young age and not-so-great achievements. With the lack of experience, it could be said that he is not a match for a great general.

Fortunately for Jun Min, this was a great opportunity. He had long wished to contend with a great general and now that the opportunity has presented itself before him, he won’t back down. Besides, if he doesn’t fight with that old general, he will go on a killing spree on his soldiers and possibly kill most of them.

”You’re not allowed to fight him! You will lose your life,” Jun Qing hurriedly disapproved. There is no way he is going to let Jun Min fight that old monster. Should anything happen to Jun Min, there will be no hope left for their Jun Family.

Jun Min shook his head. ”Uncle, if I don’t fight him, there will be no one else capable to stop him. Or do you want to go down there and fight with him?”

Among the people in this place, only Jun Qing and Jun Min have the greatest fighting capability. In terms of strength, Jun Qing was indeed higher than Jun Min, but the little kid has been fighting stronger people over and over again. It had nurtured his ability to be able to contend with people stronger than him in a battle for a longer time.

Jun Qing looked at Jun Min with reluctance. If he were to go down, it would be indeed possible for him to battle with that monster. The problem is that Jun Min doesn’t have the capability when it comes to arranging a defensive battle. The little kid is more aggressive and he would definitely be more keen on attacking. It made his head ache because even when they were on the defensive side, the kid would suddenly launch an offensive battle.

”Uncle, I’m not a kid anymore,” Jun Min said again. He knows that his uncle doesn’t want him to get hurt. But he cannot protect him forever and it is not the first time Jun Min is fighting against people stronger than him.

”Preserve your life. The soldiers still need you.”

”I know.”

Jun Min knows that without him, the soldiers will have their emotions raging and fight the enemy without a care for themselves. They were more than willing to sacrifice themselves in order to protect him. He had experienced it once before and he didn’t want his soldiers to die meaninglessly too. The battle has just begun.

The next day, the formation of both parties was still the same, but this time, Jun Min and General Tou searched for each other to fight.

”Are you ready, Youngster?”

”More than anything.”

General Tou started attacking and Jun Min did his best to defend. The power from the strike delivered by General Tou was really strong, but for Jun Min who had been fighting against Soujin every week, it was lighter. He sidestepped and blocked the blow while attacking the general at the same time. General Tou moved a step and evaded the attack from Jun Min. Both of them are powerful.
