Flowers Bloom from Battlefield

”Soujin, you’re telling me that the boy is alright?” Yan stared at his best friends with disbelief written all over his face.

Soujin nodded. ”I have sent people to investigate the cliff. It was a trap Jun Min had prepared for Lin Hong. But at the same time, he helps us.”

Yan laughed. ”You should see the emperor’s face when he heard that something unexpected happened right when Representative Han was there. It’s truly an eye opener!”

Ming Hui rolled her eyes. ”At least, you don’t need to become the troublemaker again this time and focus on developing that city.”

”Why can’t you do it in my stead?”

”I’m a princess.”

”…”

Soujin just shook his head as he sipped on his tea. ”There will be peace for a period. Use this time to be low-key.”

”Don’t worry about it. I understand.”

…

Jun Hua continued to practice her embroidery that night. The next morning, she went to school as usual. Lin Yuan and Lin San were not going to the school that day because of some matter.

”Jun Hua, I heard that there was a big incident happened,” Fan Lanying approached Jun Hua the next day.

The news had spread out to the whole of imperial capital and many people were mocking the Lin family. They also lamented that the skills Jun Min had shown when he was protecting the Lin Kang boy had been deemed useless in the end because of that boy’s own brother.

The name of Jun Min became even more famous as many people talked about it. Jun Hua was feeling troubled with it, but there’s nothing she could do. In the end, she asked Yamin to return to the border and pose as Jun Min to avoid the Jun family residence getting flooded with people who want to curry favor from them. Even then, the numbers of people who were coming to visit Jun Zhenxian kept on increasing rapidly.

Jun Hua let the servants to do the job of rejecting all the invitation except if those from the palace. Luckily, those princes didn’t bother with her because they were busy with the problems that have happened recently.

”I think that the entire people in the capital have known about it,” Jun Hua said.

Fan Lanying nodded. ”You’re right. I’m shocked when I heard about it. Now I feel that I’m lucky to avoid the hunt event. If not, probably I won’t be able to sleep for days.”

Jun Hua had just remembered that there were also some women there. She hadn’t calculated that they would come see her right after she finished dealing with the assassins. Besides, who asked them to come when they were certainly that afraid?

”How’s your embroidery coming along?”

”I can barely pass,” Jun Hua answered. She picked up her silk and showed it to Fan Lanying. The flowers she had sewn were beautiful to look at. Although it could not be compared to the professional, at least it was still passable.

Fan Lanying studied the flower embroidery. She was astonished at how quick Jun Hua managed to learn. There were still a lot of mistakes, but even she herself could not say that she could do the same only after practicing for two months.

’You’re a quick learner and your control over your finger is amazing.”

Jun Hua nodded. Inwardly, she thought, ’Of course, I had been learning how to control my body movement perfectly for years.’

”How about learning the other skills now?” Fan Lanying asked.

Jun Hua shook her head. ”I better focus on my embroidery first. Too many things to study at the same time won’t help me become better.”

”At least your footwork is better. I won’t have the same patience with you to do it.”

”No one asked you for that.”

Fan Lanying nodded. ”Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Princess Hui asked me to become one of her private guards after this semester test. She needs a girl who is skilled in martial arts. Since I’m quite good, she asked me about it.”

”Congratulations then,” Jun Hua grinned.

”Next semester, I won’t be here. Are you going to be alright?”

”Of course I am. I won’t go to school again after this semester ends.”

”Why?”

Jun Hua could not explain the true reason. She just smiled at her. ”I’m going to study at home.”

”Your home? Is there anyone who can teach you there?”

”At least in embroidery there is.”

Jun Hua and Fan Lanying chatted for a while before their lessons started. Both of them were studying diligently. Fan Lanying knew that this was her last chance to study at the academy, so she was using this chance well. Jun Hua was still as usual, she was learning at her own pace.

For the people in the capital, that one month was truly peaceful as there was no big event happened. Only in some places there were some incidents happened such as in the Lin family residence where Lin Tang was fuming mad.

Chun Maora was being grounded for a month and the power was given to Concubine Sie. Concubine Sie didn’t dare to do anything drastic though for she was afraid of Lin Tang’s anger. Lin San returned to school after a week while Lin Yuan was still busy preparing for her marriage.

Another incident occurred in the palace where the emperor was angry because such an event had happened during an important time. The representative of Young Noble Han was greatly displeased and the emperor didn’t want that person to go to other country to pay for them. He was truly angry, but he could not do anything other than thrashing out at the officials. After a period of time, the court had gotten peaceful again.
