Getting spoiled in a woman dominating world

”...What?”

Brandon’s breathing quickened as he reached out and covered her hand on her belly with his own hand.

His palm flattened over hers, pressing both their hands against her belly.

He stared at the place where their fingers overlapped, where something impossibly precious was already forming.

”Pregnant...”

Florence gave a safe nod ”I also had cramps earlier... so I think I might be pregnant. I am 50% sure of it.”

Brandon exhaled and dropped to his knees in front of Florence, bringing his face level with her stomach.

He stared at it for a moment before leaning forward and pressing a soft kiss just below her navel.

Eira, who was still on the bed, stirred and glanced at Brandon and Florence.

She sat up slowly as the sheets fell to her waist ”Mom...?”

Looking down at Brandon, she was confused ”What are you guys doing in the middle of the night?”

Brandon gently turned his head to look at her ”I’m going to be a father.”

HUH? Eira was startled to hear this ”You what?”

She glanced up at Florence, and she gave a faint nod ”W-What? I am getting a little sibling?”

She also hurried down from the bed and kneeled in front of Florence ”A-Are you really pregnant, Mom?”

Florence let out a soft chuckle ”I am half sure, but maybe tomorrow we can go see a doctor to confirm it.”

Eira’s gaze snapped to Florence.

Florence met her daughter’s wide, stunned eyes and gave a tender nod ”Mhm.”

Eira’s mouth fell open ”W-What? I’m... getting a little sibling?”

Florence’s smile softened ”I’m half sure,” she said gently. ”But maybe tomorrow we can go see a doctor to confirm it.”

Eira slid off the bed in a rush and crossed the small distance on her knees and stopped right beside Brandon.

Her hands hovered uncertainly for a second before she reached out and placed both palms flat against Florence’s lower belly.

She looked up at her mother with huge, shining eyes ”Are you really pregnant, Mom?”

Florence laughed ”I think so, sweetheart.”

Eira suddenly threw her arms around Florence’s waist and buried her face against the same place Brandon had kissed.

Patting her head, Florence chuckled ”There, there...”

A few moments passed as she gently patted Eira’s head.

Standing up, Brandon gently brought Florence back to the bed ”It’s already past midnight... so let’s sleep for the day.”

Eira also stood up and sank on the floor beside Brandon.

She scooted closer until she could press herself against Brandon’s side again.

From this angle she could still see Florence’s face and she smiled sleepily up at her mother ”We are going to meet our family doctor as the first thing in the morning.”

Florence nodded her head ”Yes, dear.”

Eira giggled and closed her eyes ”I can’t wait for tomorrow.”

Brandon turned his head and pecked Florence’s lips ”Good night dear.”

”Good night, darling.”

Eira let out a tiny, contented hum and nuzzled closer against Brandon’s side ”Night...”

The next morning, Ravene padded barefoot down the staircase with her hair still mussed from sleep.

She yawned, rubbing one eye with the heel of her hand, already looking at the living room for him out of habit.

No Brandon.

She turned toward the kitchen.

Elize stood at the island and she was flipping pancakes with a spatula.

Ravene smiled softly and slipped behind Elize, her arms sliding around her waist from behind.

”Elize,” she murmured, her voice still husky with sleep, ”where is my husband?”

Elize just leaned back slightly into the embrace, ”Kael, Eira, and Florence have gone outside,” she answered, never pausing the gentle swirl of batter in the bowl beside the stove.

”Didn’t say where they were going.”

Ravene let out a long, dramatic sigh ”Might be a date... Rude. Leaving me out of the fun.”

Elize chuckled and tilted her head ”Come and help me with cooking; they’ll be back when they’re back.”

”Mhm. Alright.”

Walking through the hallway, Florence turned to Brandon ”She is our family doctor... When I was pregnant with Eira, she was there.”

Eira giggled, reaching across to poke Brandon’s arm ”Yeah. Aunt Martha took care of me when I was a child and got sick... she is really sweet.”

They soon entered the doctor’s office, and Martha herself opened the door.

They reached the end of the corridor.

A simple door stood slightly ajar with a brass nameplate gleaming: Dr. Agartha Martha, MD – Obstetrics.

Before Florence could knock, the door swung open.

A woman stood there who seemed to be in her mid-fifties, and a bright smile appeared on her face looking at Florence.

”Florence... You could have just informed me earlier and I would have come to your house.”

Florence returned the smile ”It’s okay; we came here for an important checkup.”

Martha nodded her head ”Come in.”

As they entered, she noticed Brandon and smiled ”Ah, you are the infamous Brandon Kael... I heard a lot about you.”

Brandon just showed a smile, and they stepped inside.

They settled around the desk with Florence in the center chair, Brandon on her left, and Eira on her right.

Martha took her seat behind the desk, ”What checkup do you want to do, Florence?”

”Pregnancy test.”

Martha blinked, and then her expression softened into something amused ”You are having a third child at this age? I am surprised...”

Upon hearing this, Florence let out a soft chuckle ”Well... many things happened.”

Martha’s gaze grew gently ”I see... Let’s take a blood test first. If it’s too early, an ultrasound test won’t detect anything.”

Florence gave a soft nod ”Mhm, it should be 4 weeks since my last period... but let’s check.”

Martha stood up from her chair ”Blood hCG will give us the most accurate answer right now.”

She moved to the small supply cabinet, pulling out a sterile vacutainer kit, alcohol swab, and tourniquet.

”Arm out, dear.”

Florence extended her left arm without hesitation.

Martha tied the tourniquet gently around her upper arm, tapped the crook of her elbow once, and slid the needle in with barely a pinch.

”Little stick.”

The dark red blood flowed smoothly into the two tubes.

Martha labeled them quickly ”Results will be back in about thirty minutes. The lab is just down the hall... I have priority processing for my patients.”

She pressed a cotton ball to the puncture site and taped it down.

”There. All done.”

Florence flexed her arm once, smiling faintly ”Thank you, Martha.”

Martha returned to her chair, setting the tubes in a small tray and soon a nurse came to collect them.

”Now,” she said, leaning forward slightly, ”while we wait... tell me how you’re feeling. Any symptoms? Nausea? Fatigue? Breast tenderness? Spotting?”

Florence exhaled slowly ”Some fatigue, and my breasts have been sore for about a week. And... a little spotting last night. That’s what made me finally say something.”

Martha nodded, writing quick notes on her chart.

”Spotting at four weeks is very common. Often implantation bleeding, or just the cervix being extra sensitive. As long as it’s light and doesn’t come with cramping or heavy flow, it’s usually nothing to worry about. But we’ll keep an eye on it.”
