Bombarding Cultivators with Cluster Artillery

Countless Xianmen cultivators looked up, gazing at the Buddha light among the stars in the heavens.

Since two months ago, the Buddha light stars had begun to dim faster on top of being already faint, dimming a bit with each twinkle.

Everyone knew,

that with the death of one zealous believer after another, the deities made no move, showing none of the miracles proclaimed in the scriptures like ”Indestructible Vajra, unyielding,” ”Divine power as hellish as the sea,” ”Those who blaspheme the true Buddha will incur divine punishment, their divine souls to be cast into Avici Hell, never to be reborn.”

Instead, one by one, abbots and other monks, who appeared compassionate and benign, were exposed during public trials, wetting themselves in fright, revealing mountains of gold, silver, and jewelry at home, and countless beautiful servants and concubines.

There was no dignity,

and no compassion either.

Within a blink of an eye, the majestic Treasure Tripod Maitreya in the hearts of the people turned from a revered god into a despised street rat, a loathsome clown.

In society, while the common people struggled with hunger and cold, the many suppressed resentments suddenly erupted.

The Incense Fire God suppressed the desires of all beings, forcing them to live in poverty and struggle for food and warmth, directing their sole hope and spiritual solace to temples to gain faith.

Now, it backfired.

An endless tide of resentment flowed along the existing lines of belief in Incense Fire, pouring into the hearts of the once devout followers,

into the Western Paradise they yearned for so much!

At this moment,

what was being inhaled and exhaled between every twinkle of the Incense Fire God’s Country was no longer belief in Incense Fire, but resentment!

The awakened curses of resentment from countless commoners, as potent as the most fearsome poison, surged in.

With each twinkle, it became a tad dimmer, growing darker and darker.

Until there was only a hint of light left, it stopped.

Even though much more resentment poured in after that, no further changes occurred.

”This is the limit,”

explained the Chief of Staff An Siyan, ”He has deployed a secret technique from Xuanwu tiangong which temporarily sealed off the merit field reception port for Incense Fire belief. He is now barely surviving on the faith accumulated over the past.”

”Treasure Tripod Maitreya is an Incense Fire God who flourished for only a few decades; His following is limited.”

”The seniors in the Immortal Sect Army believe that if the external belief remains unchanged, He will naturally perish within thirty to fifty years.”

”Commander-in-chief, what are your thoughts?”

An Siyan asked.

Many eyes converged.

As the supreme commander of the ground forces,

he had significant authority in this area, and whatever he chose, the Desolate Bronze Air Space military would respect. Thirty to fifty years was not considered a long time for most high-level cultivators.

”Attack,”

was Jiang Ding’s simple reply.

”Yes, sir!”

An Siyan saluted and relayed the order to officers at all levels.

The engines of four million tanks roared to life, their rumbling shaking heaven and earth as they advanced, parting the waves towards the direction of the Xuanwu Four-polar Boundary Array.

Despite the absence of battle cries,

a dense killing intent echoed between heaven and earth, bone-chilling and cold, causing sea monsters within hundreds of kilometers to flee in panic.

...

Inside the Boundary Formation.

Gone was the cold ground and the complex web of Formation Method lines.

Looking around, there were rivers flowing with honey water and sweet dew, little mountains made of roasted meat, giant stones made of white bread, and soil paved with brown sugar, with Buddha’s golden palaces amidst the clouds in the distance...

Everything, through the perspective of the divine soul, was exactly as described in the scriptures of the Treasure Tripod Maitreya teachings.

But now, the situation had already changed.

```
A desolate scene.
The rivers of honey and ambrosia had dried up, the roast meat mountains stood fouled and rotten, and the mantou boulders had turned into genuine granite rocks.
The golden palaces amidst the clouds had plummeted to the ground transforming into ruins without a trace of light.
Within the main hall of the golden palace,
Treasure Tripod Maitreya sat cross-legged, with an unprecedented serenity and gentleness on His face.
Around Him, the corpses of the Xuanwu Heavenly Palace’s Foundation-building cultivators were strewn about haphazardly; some were drained of their essence blood, some had their skulls gnawed at, some were ripped in half.
”I am, oh so at ease...”
Treasure Tripod Maitreya, His expression trance-like, muttered to Himself: ”It turns out, I am a god, meant to grant life and death, not to be shackled by Spirit Soul Restrictions, stumbling through existence, at the mercy of the ants of the Xuanwu Heavenly Palace...”
”...In the future, I also wish to be so carefree...”
”To freely...”
His smirk twisted ferociously: ”slaughter those treacherous, ignorant mortals who have no knowledge of divinity, and make this world a true Buddha Country of the Treasure Tripod, let it be the Xuanwu Heavenly Palace, let it be the Eastern Devil School, within My Buddha country, they all must die!”
Whoosh, whoosh whoosh!
Around His ears, a succession of piercing whistles sounded.
Looking up,
Millions of Armor-piercing Shells glittered with Spiritual Light, forming an endless canopy, falling ceaselessly towards here, smashing through the Formation and the superficial defenses of the Buddha country, shattering layers of Spiritual Light.
”My believers, awaken, for our final stand...”
A hint of warmth flickered in the eyes of Treasure Tripod Maitreya.
The ground cracked open, the golden palace once again burst forth with brilliance, and figures emerged, from all walks of life, with frenzied expressions.
”True Buddha!”
”...Treasure Tripod Maitreya, Indestructible Vajra, Indestructible... Indestructible Vajra...”
They loudly recited the teachings of the Treasure Tripod Maitreya Sect, resurrected from the earth and the golden palace, arriving at each cannon, manipulating them skillfully as if they had undergone countless trainings, each movement flawless.
For years, the souls of fanatical Buddha worshippers and devout believers had been gathered!
...
Millions of Armor-piercing Shells roared in ten volleys, the smoke cleared.
They could not inflict any damage on the Xuanwu Four-polar Boundary Array.
The thirty-six sky pillars still shimmered with dazzling light, and explosion sounds from cannons resounded within.
”The Xuanwu Heavenly Palace, still the same old tricks.”
Jiang Ding remarked indifferently.
Without need for commands, the steel tank tide rumbled forth, approaching within fifty kilometers of the Boundary Formation, the heavy artillery roaring in volleys again, shattering all the World War II cannons and the seemingly real bodies of the Buddha country’s followers within.
Following the steel tank tide, he stepped into the Boundary Formation and the Treasure Tripod Incense Fire Buddha country.
”...Indestructible Vajra, Indestructible...”
”...My Buddha, Treasure Tripod Maitreya, the Supreme True Buddha...”
The moment Jiang Ding appeared in this realm,
The Formation and the Incense Fire Buddha country trembled together, the sky and earth split open, and armies of the Buddha country marched out of the crevices in neat rows.
Endless power of faith from the Belief in Incense rippled through the heavens and earth as they emerged, partially restoring the vitality of the damaged Incense Fire Buddha country.
This Buddha army belonged to eight departments.
There were the Heavenly Man Department, Dragon Department, Yaksha Department, The Ganges Department, Ashura Department, Karura Department, Gandharva Department, and the Mohouluoga Department, each with a force of a hundred thousand, led by department kings exuding the terrifying aura of late-stage Golden Pill, leading their followers to form Vajra Buddha Formations, surrounding the invading youth.
The rumble of the Xuanwu Four Extremes Boundary Array in operation, merged with it, once again elevating its might.
”Om Amitabha!”
A Buddha with joined palms, and six arms sprouting from His back, with a majestic and dignified appearance, descended, becoming the core of the Vajra Buddha Formation, commanding everything.
