Bombarding Cultivators with Cluster Artillery

Several tens of kilometers away,

a simple eavesdropping device, disguised as a trumped flower using branches and grass, had its connection wire deeply buried into a thirteen-meter-deep hole.

At such depth, it was enough to shield from the scanning of a First-order Infantry Radar; only if they encountered a Second-order Infantry Spirit Radar or a Foundation-building cultivator would it likely be detected from a distance.

Two students from No.7 High School in the Body Refining Realm listened carefully to the device for a while and then relaxed.

”There’s no sound of tank engines.”

One short student said with lingering fear, ”I saw the way Zhou Liuchuan and the other one died; not a piece of intact flesh could be found, blown to smithereens by the anti-aircraft machine guns.”

”Those bastards from No.1 High School! They don’t adhere to the morals of the Xianmen Sect!”

Another student cursed.

Above the pit, Jiang Ding silently listened for a while, noted down the coordinates, and then left with a light tap of his foot.

This was the third scout position of No.7 High School he had discovered.

Whether there were more, he wasn’t sure.

There probably were, scattered across the vast battlefield, layer upon layer sniping at the Tank Troops from No.1 High School, until the formation of a First-order electromagnetic induction array was complete within the camp, creating a massive advantage within the radar search range.

The advantages of having a Top-grade Special Magic Tool reconnaissance camouflage, a Great Achievement-Level Art of Small Concealment, and the agility provided by the Great Achievement ”Soaring Eagle Sword Technique.”

His figure moved silently through the jungle without causing a single blade of grass to sway. Sensitive little creatures like birds and other small animals also perceived nothing.

Suddenly, Jiang Ding’s breath caught slightly as his peripheral vision caught a tank thundering past a kilometer away.

After a while, another one appeared, then a third, and a sixth, forming a standard Xianmen Sect tank squad whose job was mobility and to artillery strike based on coordinates provided by the scout positions.

Jiang Ding hesitated.

If he called for an artillery strike now, he would likely get results, but it would also reveal that a reconnaissance unit from No.1 High School was close by. After that, their vigilance would increase, making scouting more difficult.

After noting down the coordinates, he left and continued deeper into reconnaissance.

As he penetrated several tens of kilometers closer to the forty-kilometer range around No.7 High School’s camp, Jiang Ding encountered more Internal Qi Realm students. They were no longer huddled on the ground but set up heavy machine guns and constructed robust defensive fortifications, with the remaining forty Taoist Soldiers from No.7 High School beside them, casting spells to assist.

Jiang Ding frowned as he recorded the coordinates of each fortification.

These, based on a layer of thick soil and stone and strengthened by First-order Earth-attribute Spells, housed three to five machine gunners and posed a considerable threat; they were mostly impervious to shellfire, penetrable only by armor-piercing rounds.

He made a wide detour, surveyed the nearby area thoroughly, and mapped out a detailed topographical chart.

Boom! Boom, boom!

The roar of engines again. Jiang Ding was pleased, gazing into the distance, and indeed, several kilometers away he saw six tanks spaced five hundred meters apart heading back toward the camp of No.7 High School, likely the returning force from a flanking reconnaissance mission.

”This will do.”

Jiang Ding made up his mind.

If he continued deeper, he feared encountering Li Tie, the talented Dual Spiritual Roots individual who might have cultivated the ”Electromagnetic Induction Wave Technique” to a minor achievement. If he stepped within thirty kilometers, he feared getting blown up by a grenade coming from who knows where.

”Camp command, this is First Recon Platoon, target is six Type 62 tanks, coordinates as follows... constantly moving... requesting artillery strike!”

Fifty to sixty kilometers away from there.

Hua Bing’s spirits lifted, thrilled, and he shouted in the group, ”Brothers and sisters, get on your tanks, everyone, all hands on deck!”

”Jiang Ding spotted the tanks from No.7 High School!”

”Awesome!”

”The eternal god of reconnaissance infantry!”

Gongsun Ling and the others were overjoyed as the forty-three tank cannons from various locations were raised, adjusting positions based on coordinates, anticipating the target’s trajectory.

This was what they had been practicing for a long time, not needing any reminders from Jiang Ding.

All he needed to do was inform them of the battlefield situation.

”From number one to twenty-two, armor-piercing rounds, coordinates...”

”Numbers 23 to 43, armor-piercing rounds, coordinates...”

Gongsun Ling and Hua Bing each took control of firing at a target, with Ding Qi assisting in calculating and predicting.

”Ready!”

”Fire!”

Boom!

The muzzles of forty-three tanks roared, their fiery glow scorching hot, dozens of sounds merging into one thunderous boom, without a fraction of a second’s difference, free from any miscellaneous noise.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

Dozens of armor-piercing shells broke through the air, leaving behind streaks of white before vanishing from sight.

...

Jiang Ding lightly stepped, following the No. 7 High School tank squad that was continuously on the move, silently watching.

The leader of this tank squad was the class president of Class 2, Senior Year at No. 7 High School, who was now on the team’s voice communication complaining to his classmates, ”Li Tie is too cowardly, making us huddle in this ditch. It doesn’t matter to him; no matter what, he won’t score low for commanding a battle. It’s different for us, though. A low score is one thing, but we can’t learn anything besides digging holes.”

”There’s nothing we can do; he’s the principal’s grandson, with Qi Practicing Level 8 and Dual Spiritual Roots...”

His teammates also had grievances.

Suddenly, the radar alarm sounded urgently.

Dense white streaks appeared in the sky.

”High-speed objects are approaching... they’re shells!” the Class 2 president’s face changed dramatically as he shouted, ”Maneuver! Evade maneuver, it’s an artillery shell aimed at us!”

Six tanks began maneuvering irregularly, twisting in S-shaped patterns, which was the standard response to evade tank shell interference from outside the targeted area.

Only, the one targeting them was over twenty armor-piercing rounds!

”Fuck... Damn it!”

The class president from No. 7 High School cursed loudly as armor-piercing shells fell from the sky, each hitting the ground and triggering huge explosions, creating deep craters among the woods.

One evade after another, finally, quantity led to a qualitative change, one armor-piercing shell struck home, entering through the top of the tank and sending him and his vehicle to the heavens.

Another tank was lucky enough to evade all the shells, its occupants still in shock, throttled to the max, putting all their effort into escaping toward the camp.

Jiang Ding observed for a moment, then continued reporting in the battle group.

”Reporting artillery results, enemy target number one destroyed, target number two fleeing, coordinates changing, requesting continued artillery fire...”

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

After a brief wait, dozens more white streaks appeared in the sky, carrying the screech of death.

Boom boom!

This time, neither of the two tanks was lucky, both were destroyed within deep craters.

”Targets number two and three successfully destroyed, coordinates changing, requesting continued artillery fire...”

The sound of death came again.

”Fuck! Someone’s giving them our location!” the Qi Practicing students on the three tanks from No. 7 High School started swearing, ”We need to kill him first, or we’re all dead!”

Boom!

Ratatat!

The three tank cannons thundered, and several high-explosive shells bombarded in all directions, overturning swathes of the forest, while the dual-purpose magic tool machine guns fired non-stop, snapping row after row of trees in half.

Jiang Ding quickly dropped to the ground, waiting for the sky full of armor-piercing shells to finish bombing before daring to climb to the top of a tree to continue observing.

”Target number four destroyed, target number five fleeing, requesting continued artillery fire...”

He rapidly reported the coordinates and fled towards the distance without looking back.

Indeed, a few seconds later, over ten high-explosive shells from the No. 7 High School camp and other places flew over, submerging thousands of kilometers of the forest.
