The Martial Unity

Rui’s primary goal had been to test how well his healing and regenerating faired against the likes of the Devil. After all, the man was a sovereign of destruction, and there was no better opponent to help him discover his healing limits.

The other Martial Sages were most likely too weak to push him far enough to show him exactly where he was done. Now, however, he was done with holding back.

WHOOSH

He surged forth as he activated all of his Martial Art in all its glory, activating Neo Godspeed while surging towards the Devil with a blinding high velocity. The previous exchanges had confirmed for him personally about just how absurdly destructive the Devil’s attacks were. His most powerful attacks were able to easily overcome Rui’s most powerful defenses.

This made sense, given that Rui was not a defensive powerhouse while the Devil most certainly was a destructive powerhouse.

Thus, his approach adaptively evolved to handle the Devil’s greatest strengths appropriately.

He surged straightforward towards Sage Damian with a blindingly fast approach.

Only to find himself face to face with Damian’s destructively powerful strike.

An attack that he had foreseen with the power of prophecy and thought.

WHOOSH

The slightest of shifts were all it took for Rui to completely evade the destructively powerful attack in the blink of an eye. His own jab surged forth with a powerfully charged Yin-Yang Spear technique, surging towards the man’s ribs.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Rui’s eyes widened as the attack barely staggered the rock solid Devil where he stood.

“Is that the best you can do?” Sage Damian growled. “You’re going to need to do better than that.”

His fists blurred as he unleashed a storm of attacks upon Rui with a blindingly high velocity, each attack shuddering the very fabric of space and time with their immensely destructive momentum.

And yet, not a single attack so much as touched Rui.

The slightest shifts across his entire body.

The gentlest of drifts.

The smallest of dips.

Those were all it took.

With the Prophecy of the Void, his foresight into the future was nothing short of the temporal equivalent of a telescope. The immediate future was long foreseen among a myriad of possibilities, and he actively worked towards it, having long been prepared for it. He had seen them coming from so long ago that his timing was nothing short of a cosmic miracle, allowing him to weave through the Devil’s attacks with the grace of a ballerina.

It allowed him to slip through each and every attack.

And of course, land each and every one of his attacks without fail.

“Vital Pressure.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

It was the very first striking technique that he had ever learned in his entire life, even before he became a Martial Apprentice. It taught him how to effectively target his opponent’s vitals to maximize the amount of damage he inflicted on them. Each blow struck the man’s throat, liver, groin, solar plexus, and diaphragm. Not all techniques needed to be fancy and extravagant.

Sometimes, the simplest of techniques were the most effective.

Each blow that Rui unleashed was powerful and while the Devil was able to weather them in ordinary circumstances, he could not weather such powerful blows in his vital areas where he was most vulnerable.

Of course, even with this simplistic tactic, it would take a long, long time for Rui to win, but at this rate, the battle would slowly but eventually fall in his hands. After all, he had the most stamina out of any Martial Sage among them. The morning Sun fueled his power tremendously, giving him an incredible surplus of energy reserves that could sustain his output for vastly longer than he otherwise would have been able to.

This gave him a great advantage where simply sustaining a maintained advantage was enough to lead him to victory, while his opponents were forced to try to change the existing circumstances to prevent this outcome.

The Devil’s eyes flared with determination.

“This paltry tactic isn’t enough to even begin to pressure me.”

Chills ran through Rui’s skin as he preemptively leaped away from the Devil with the most perfect timing.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

A powerful and destructive shockwave of heaven and earth and space and time erupted from the Devil as it crumpled any and all matter it passed through. The sheer power of the attacked matter on a sub-atomic level, causing the nuclei to be deprived of their electrons as it washed over the world, destroying everything.

Rui distanced himself to the point where he could effectively shield himself from it. The shockwave was special in that it had an absurdly narrow width of transmission. Across heaven and earth, it was transmitted by a single layer of molecules, and across space and time, it was propagated by a singular crest and trough that were extremely intense.

It was the most destructive application of shockwaves that he had ever seen. Even when he utilized shockwaves in his attacks, they were rarely as cleanly and singularly intense as the incredibly destructive shockwaves of the Devil.

By concentrating his power as much as possible at all times, he had maximized the destruction he could imbue in his attacks.

RUMBLE!!!!

The world shook as the powerful and vast destructive attack that erupted from him reduced solid matter to plasma as gigantic arcs of electricity and the sparks of charged ions flooded the entire world around him. The Martial Sages moved even further away as they secured the jets, taking them with them to give the two powerful Martial Sages enough space to fight.

An aggressive, wild grin emerged on the Devil’s face as he generated a tremendously powerful electromagnetic field from within his body with a technique to harness the ocean of plasma. “Ocean of Destruction.” A feral snarl escaped the Devil as he flung the attack at Rui with a fearsome speed and momentum.

A tsunami of plasma converged on Rui, threatening to fry him alive where he stood, leaving him no room for escape.
