Apocalypse Villainess? Nah, I'm Nice

The history between the Dudley and Reid Families, if one were to trace it back, began before the apocalypse.

However, Silas Dudley and Owen Reid only became close after the apocalypse.

When the apocalypse arrived, Zombies were everywhere. The more prosperous a place had been, the more densely packed they were. Astoria’s capital was no exception; it was a veritable ocean of Zombies—an inexhaustible tide!

At that time, too many people wanted to flee the city.

It was Owen Reid who, resisting immense pressure from both internal and external factions, refused to abandon the capital. Instead, he proposed establishing a base there and managed to persuade many with his foresight.

It must be said, he was a man of incredible drive.

Back then, some of the top brass in the military and government disagreed with this plan. They had their own ideas for safe havens and were unwilling to remain in such a dangerous place.

The two sides argued fiercely over whether to stay or leave, but in the end, Owen Reid’s faction won.

And Silas Dudley had played a part in that victory.

He was one of the people Owen Reid had persuaded.

The memorial tablets in the wooden house—those in the front row—belonged to the ”founding elders” of that time. The ones behind them belonged to their descendants.

Silas Dudley greatly admired Owen Reid and had cleared away more than a few obstacles for him over the years. However... he wasn’t so fond of Sheldon Reid.

But no matter how much he disliked him, he was still a son of the Reid Family. Not to mention, there was something about him that interested Silas.

So when he received Sheldon Reid’s call for help, he went without hesitation. But when he followed the trail and found the location, all he discovered was a buried corpse...

Silas Dudley sighed at the memorial tablets for a moment, then turned, the corners of his lips curling up. ”Care to explain?”

Paige Summers calmly retracted her gaze. ”Explain what?”

Silas Dudley pursed his lips. ”Playing dumb with me? Is it fun? Or did you think you could kill Sheldon Reid in secret and no one would find out?”

Paige Summers lowered her eyes slightly.

’He went to all this trouble just to avenge Sheldon Reid?’

’How laughable!’

She raised her head. ”So what if I killed him? Are you saying you want a life for a life?”

Silas Dudley retorted, ”What do you think?”

Paige Summers sneered. ”I didn’t just kill him. I also regret that Owen Reid died so early! Otherwise, both father and son would have paid with their lives!”

Silas Dudley froze for a second, then realization dawned on him. ”So you know...”

”Yes. Back then, Owen Reid slaughtered hundreds of members of my Summers Family. Now, his son has merely paid with his life. He got off easy!”

Silas Dudley clicked his tongue. The next moment, he lunged forward like a bolt of lightning.

Paige Summers, who had been watching his every move, sensed his intent and dodged to the side at full speed.

Her speed was indeed fast, and she did manage to evade his advance.

But two snake-like vines suddenly shot up from the floorboards beneath her feet, binding her legs tightly!

By the time she drew her long knife with a reverse grip and slashed them apart, Silas Dudley was already inches away.

He clamped the hand holding her knife firmly against the small of her back and seized her chin with his other hand, saying regretfully, ”Tsk! Really... you’re good-looking, and you suit my tastes. I was planning on keeping you around for a while. We could have enjoyed some earthly pleasures together! What a pity. You know about the Summers Family affair, so I can’t let you live. Owen was my little bro, you see. I have to protect his posthumous reputation!”

Before he could finish his sentence, a dagger suddenly appeared in Paige Summers’ free hand, and she stabbed viciously at the center of his back!

However, the moment the dagger touched his body, it was repelled by a burst of force...

Unwilling to give up, she tried again.

The result was the same.

Silas Dudley couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

”Stop your pointless struggle! You think a Tenth Rank is that easy to kill? Haha, if that were the case, I’d have died countless times by now!” Besides, she was just a Speed Superpower User. In his eyes, her offensive power was zero.

Paige Summers seemed to realize this as well, and she slowly lowered her hand.

A smile on his face, Silas Dudley gently caressed her wrist before gripping it tightly.

He savored the sensation, his eyes growing brighter and brighter!

’Killing her works too.’

’Even after all this time, a faint trace of Sheldon Reid’s aura still lingers on her. Without a doubt, the Crystal Core from Sheldon’s brain must be in the pocket dimension she carries.’

’Not only that, but there’s also a Crystal Core inside her own brain!’

’As soon as she dies, I can take them all!’

The thought of this unexpected windfall filled Silas Dudley’s eyes with even greater anticipation!

He advanced on her step by step, and she retreated step by step. Soon, her back was against the wooden wall of the cabin.

”If you’re going to kill me, then do it!”

Silas Dudley said, ”Don’t worry. Seeing as you’ve amused me, I’ll make your death a comfortable one.”

He pinned both of her hands behind her back, lifted her chin, and ran his fingers along her snow-white neck.

Paige Summers felt a sudden, sharp pain, and a wound appeared on her neck.

Silas Dudley licked the drop of blood that had spattered onto his lips and bent his head down in satisfaction...

One bite, two bites...

Silas Dudley swallowed the fresh blood, completely intoxicated!

He had drunk the blood of so many people, but hers was the most delicious! He couldn’t bear to let go, wishing he could drain every last drop of her blood!

But right at that moment, a searing pain shot through his lower body!

”ARGH!”

’This woman dared to knee me in the crotch while I was distracted... Damn her!’ Silas Dudley raised his head viciously and reached out his hand...

But the hand he was about to swing never made it to Paige Summers’ face. Not only that, but the numerous vines that had suddenly sprouted at his feet after the attack also stopped growing when they were only knee-high. Now, they all hung limply on the ground.

”You...”

Silas Dudley only managed to utter that one word before he, still frozen in the same posture, fell straight backward.

By then, an eerie purple color had already spread across his face and body!

Seeing this, Paige Summers finally let out the breath she had been holding.

’Thank goodness.’

’Thank goodness the Rainbow Water’s poison was potent enough to take effect before he could drink any more of my blood!’

’And it’s all thanks to Andy for making it colorless and odorless. Applying it to the skin is truly an impossible method to guard against. No matter how powerful Silas Dudley was, as long as he harbored the malicious intent to drink my blood, he was bound to fall for it!’

Pulling out some ointment, Paige Summers applied it to her still-bleeding neck, picked up the dagger from the floor, and walked over to Silas Dudley’s side.

As expected of a Tenth Rank Superpower User, the man was still breathing.

Paige Summers swiftly plunged the dagger into his heart!

Her hand was so fast that no blood even spattered out.

Silas Dudley finally stopped breathing for good...

Paige Summers withdrew her hand, stood up, and cast a cold glance at the man on the floor before leaving.

His skin was aging at a visible rate. Deep wrinkles creased his grayish-purple face, and in just a few moments, his skin became withered and his hair turned white, transforming him into an ancient, dying man.

The handsome young man from before was nothing more than an illusory dream built on the blood of others.

This was the real Silas Dudley!
