Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1376: Chapter 1376: The History of the Nangong Family

”Do you know the history of the Nangong Family?”

Jian Yufei shook her head, ”Do you know?”

Qi Ruisen also shook his head. ”I’m not very clear, but I’ve heard some things.”

”Can you tell me about it?” Jian Yufei asked expectantly.

Qi Ruisen nodded and said, ”The Nangong Family was established 150 years ago, and their headquarters was not in London, but in China.

The founders were twin brothers, but the elder brother was the family head.

The younger brother assisted the elder brother, and each generation’s family head was a descendant of the elder brother.

When they first started, they received a lot of help from people, to express their gratitude, the brothers created the Double Dragon Ring, a total of ten.

They gave the rings to their benefactors, and as long as the benefactors came to them with the rings, they would fulfill their requests.

The reason they made the Double Dragon Ring was that the brothers were named Nangong Longyi and Nangong Longer.

The ring, with the intertwined dragons, represented the two brothers. Later, after both brothers died, the two dragons on the ring represented their descendants.

Your grandfather was a descendent of Nangong Longyi, Nangong Xu was a descendant of Nangong Longer.”

Jian Yufei exclaimed, ”Then he married my mother! Isn’t that a close relative marriage?”

”It’s not considered a close relation. Your grandfather was the fifth generation from Nangong Longyi, your mother and Nangong Xu are both sixth generation. Close relations are defined as direct relatives within three generations. They are already the sixth generation, so marriage is permissible.”

Now I see, Jian Yufei nodded in understanding.

”You said my enemy is Nangong Xu, why do you say that? Does he want to take over as the family head?” Jian Yufei asked, puzzled.

”That’s what we suspect now. You know that the descendants of Nangong Longer have always been subordinates, certainly discontented. Nangong Xu is very capable, over the past few decades, he has gradually gained control of the Nangong Family’s economic lifelines and won over many people’s hearts. Although he hasn’t made any major moves yet, once your grandfather passes away, he will definitely take action to seize your grandfather’s position.”

Jian Yufei’s expression became somber, ”Was he also the person who poisoned my two children back then?”

”It’s very likely,” Qi Ruisen nodded faintly, ”but there is no evidence, and your grandfather also has no evidence; it’s all speculation.”

”Do we have to get evidence to deal with him?”

”Yes, that’s the case. The Nangong Family has ancestral precepts against attacking each other, otherwise, they will be expelled from the Nangong Family.

This is also why Nangong Xu has not dared to rebel, considering that after 150 years of development, the Nangong Family has become a massive clan. Many people are waiting in the shadows, and once they start fighting among themselves, others will take advantage of the situation.

The Nangong Family would become chaotic, and some external parties would also take the opportunity to strike at the Nangong Family, eventually destroying the foundation built over more than a hundred years.

The old patriarch has been wary of Nangong Xu, fearing that the family’s foundation will be destroyed and end up benefitting outsiders.

But since Nangong Xu also hasn’t made any outright moves, there isn’t a justified reason to openly confront him. That’s why your grandfather arranged our marriage.”

”What does our marriage have to do with it?” Jian Yufei asked, confused.

Qi Ruisen smiled and said, ”It was a mutual need. First of all, you helped me take over Qi Family, and in return I used the power of the Qi Family to help you confront Nangong Xu. And the most important point,
