She Lives without Regret in This Life

”If I am the Soul Hand, then she is the Hand of God.” Liu Yilan joked, ”Alright, it’s starting, goodbye.”

She stood up and, with unhurried steps, slowly made her way to the stage.

Countless beams of light instantly shone upon her, as if the whole world were in darkness and she was the brightest star. She emerged from the mud unstained, cool yet not aloof, graceful and poised, standing tall and elegant.

Even just standing there, she had already become a painting, a priceless masterpiece.

Thunderous applause erupted from the audience. Austria is a country that reveres freedom, music, art, and romance. Today’s audience included many who had come from France, Italy, Greece, and other countries.

Even the noble and understated Duke of Westminster was present. However, no one had seen the Duke, so the accuracy of the news was unknown.

Today’s concert was divided into solos and ensemble performances. With her exquisite skills and stunning talent, Liu Yilan offered all the audience a delightful musical feast.

Her slender and long fingers danced on the piano keys like fluttering butterflies, each note striking the very soul, carrying the magic to stir the heart.

The finale was a concerto nobody expected.

”Yellow River Concerto”

Liu Yilan stood up from the piano, bowed at a ninety-degree angle at the front of the stage. The audience was stunned by her actions, gazing at her curiously but nobody made a sound.

Their good manners and trust in a genius filled them with confidence in Liu Yilan, believing there was reason in whatever she did.

For this last piece, she would announce it herself.

”Ladies and gentlemen, the final act is a piano concerto. It comes from my hometown, my country, and it’s called ’Yellow River Concerto.’ I hope you all will like it.”

Bowing again at ninety degrees, she elegantly returned to the piano.

When the music started, the passionate and overwhelming emotions seemed to burst from her chest, soaring skyward. Everyone instinctively stood up; the audience maintained good etiquette, and no one made a sound.

Those standing outside the theater, who couldn’t get a ticket, including overseas students and expatriates, fell silent as the music started. Listening to this familiar tune, they all had tears welling up.

Liu Yilan, indeed, was the pride of them all.

When the performance ended, the theater was silent for a few seconds, then erupted into enthusiastic applause, continuing tirelessly, the atmosphere reaching unprecedented heights, even as Liu Yilan stepped down.

The golden seats on the second floor have always only been for royalty. Today, they were all filled, with the most prominent box belonging to the Duke of Westminster from England.

He, who usually never left England, first went to the United States this year, then came to Vienna, surprising many nobles.

It is said that the Duke of Westminster has a son, who is now busy with matchmaking daily, trying to find a stepmother for his son.

No one knows if it’s true, but the noble ladies have already gone crazy. Even if they don’t know whether the Duke of Westminster is handsome or ugly, his status alone is enough to make people bend over backward.

At this moment, the father and son in the box were staring at each other.

”Father,” said Lin En, dressed in a stylish suit and vest, pretending to be serious, ”Your taste has finally improved a notch.”
