She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 358: Chapter 367 This Girl Has Turned Silly

”Shut up!” Sheng Ning picked up the ball of yarn from the table and threw it at Chen Huaying, ”Are you all waiting to see me embarrassed?”

”Sheng Ning, I think you should call Living Yama. First, congratulate him on his promotion, and then tell him not to pick wildflowers by the roadside,” Wu Youli also joined in the teasing.

”You people just want to see me fail,” Sheng Ning calmed down instead, sat down, and continued to ponder the new script.

Before the New Year, she was planning to make a big profit from the new script!

Every day was filled with dancing, writing scripts, and knitting sweaters; her time was fully booked, she even didn’t have time to go to the convenience store.

But that was fine, she could at least save some money. Next year, when An’an came over, she could help her rent a better place nearby.

In the afternoon, Shen Feihu personally chaired an organizational meeting, where Xu Qigang’s promotion to official captain was unanimously approved.

After the meeting, Shen Feihu stopped Liang Ximing.

”Where’s Su Hai? Why hasn’t he come back yet?” This guy never took leave before, and it had been two days since anyone had seen him.

”He’s in Liyang County, and it’s uncertain when he’ll be back.”

”Tell him to hurry back!” Shen Feihu erupted, ”Does a Director of the Inspection Department really need to go find someone in person?”

”That’s going to be difficult this time!” Liang Ximing shook his head, ”The old man has been greatly affected, I heard his blood pressure has risen a lot recently. Su Huai’an hasn’t stayed in the university dorms and has already moved back to the compound.”

”That severe? He seemed fine when I saw him the day before yesterday!”

”The doctor said so!”

”I see, arrange a time for me to go visit the old man.”

”You better not go, I heard that the old man doesn’t want to see anyone now and gets angry at everyone he sees.”

”That’s not necessarily true; I’ll bring some tasty food,” Shen Feihu said proudly, tilting his lips, ”That’s settled then!”

”Has Jian Guo returned home yet?” Liang Ximing was still concerned about Shen Jianguo’s assignment.

Shen Feihu’s smile instantly stiffened, and his eyebrows drooped. ”That kid is avoiding me!” Knowing he feels guilty is a good thing!

”The matter has already been settled, stop scolding him.”

”I know! Scolding him now is useless,” Shen Feihu sighed, ”Help me call Lu Yuan, I said I want to see that kid, tell him to come to me right away.” Really thinking he could avoid seeing him just because he’s in the Research Institute?

Dream on! If I want to see my son, nothing can stop me.

”Yeah! I’ll make the call right away.”

Shixi Town

It had been over a month since Sheng An received the letter from Sheng Ning, and she sneakily took it out to read when she had nothing to do, feeling utterly delighted. Even going to town to buy bean sprouts in the cold weather didn’t feel cold to her.

”Lao San, this girl has become silly recently, have you noticed?” Shen Luhua was both amused and annoyed, ”A while back her sister sent her a letter, and she wouldn’t even let me see it.” Shen Luhua was busy making cotton shoes, one pair for An’an and another for Ningning, with thick cotton shoes it wasn’t cold wherever you went.

”Are you jealous?” Sheng Lao San was husking corn and chuckled, ”Our An’an has her own little secrets too, how could she just show them to you.”

In winter, the workload in the fields reduced, and the family sat on the warm kang busy with their handiwork, enjoying the togetherness.

”Exactly! Dad’s right.” That’s because she feared mom might marry her off casually again, so she specifically instructed not to show the letter to mom.
